Alright guys, you know the drill! It’s another LifeBrick Daredevil! Sound the alarm! They did it again! Yes, I’m just as shocked as you are folks! The master of Daredevil figs made ANOTHER perfect Daredevil!

I mean seriously! Look at that texture work! Wow! So clean!

Not to mention the 360° application of all these textures!

I love the yellow sections like on the head print for example. It’s used to good effect to cut back in the brightness of Lego official yellow plastic. It leaves the final product just the right shade!

And you know what's weird? The colored eyes representing Matt’s blindness doesn't bother me like it did on She-Hulk. Perhaps it’s that uncanny valley thing of She-Hulk’s matte green ink around the entire fig felt off somehow? Maybe because we’ve seen this same facial print before on past LB DD figs?

I don't know... it just looks good and makes sense here… call me a hypocrite, I can take it!

Now as for the rest of the design! From the waist down, it feels rather busy doesn't it? Maybe my tastes have changed since I last reviewed an LB DD, but I mean, the lower half of this fig has so much going on!

Still, credit is due for the amount of impressive PAD Printing work that leaves us with all the detail, but from a design point I’m a bit overwhelmed if I stare at it for too long.

Maybe it’s also a case of “LifeBrick already made a yellow Daredevil” and this new fig has cranked up the concept to eleven!"

…that or The MCU really overdid it with this suit…

But I liked the suit in the show! So again… idk

I mean just look at those two side by side! There’s clearly too much going on down there below the belt.

This review is really puzzling my small peanut butter brain... Do I like it this fig? Or am I just a LifeBrick apologist?

🤷🏻‍♂️

As for the custom parts, the helmet shaping is still the best DD helmet design out there! There’s a reason I have like five LifeBrick Daredevil’s now! They have absolutely mastered that shaping!

The print/ink/painting work here is also really impressive! The light grey linework surrounding the entire piece is sharp and simplifies a lot compared to their original Yellow Suit fig. All while the silvery scuffs and scrapes painted on look messy and hardcore (as they should!)

The facial area has a bit too much of the silver ink for me personally (it could have also just been my copy). It makes him look a little too shiny around the nose and brow, while a bit blank on the forehead.

The helmet is also paired with the TINIEST custom piece I’ve ever seen, in the form of a little collar that fits around the neck of the fig.

We’ve seen LB print on minifig necks in the past, so it’s odd that these heads didn’t get the same treatment. I wonder if they couldn’t apply the same kind of detailed 3/4 red to yellow to that area of the head? Like it’s applied with dipping into ink or something? Who’s to say!

But seriously this thing is freakishly small! So small in fact that I can’t tell with the naked eye if I’m putting it on upside down or not… I mean I can see it in photographs that there’s a subtle “belt” like ring that wraps around the outside, and each tip has a super subtle tapering. But in person, it’s impossible to tell.

Of course I could also just be seeing things and losing my damn mind just staring at these figs for hours at a time

Last bits of stuff to talk about are his lil whackin' sticks! (a literal translation of "Escrima" that we all know isn't a real word)

These little bars are a solid update on the last few pairs we've gotten. LB still included the magnet concept, and these seem to be well inserted into the plastic this time around, leaving the entire bar straight as an arrow :)

Not only that but it’s got a bit more silver ink on the opposite ends of the sticks, and some nice grip texturing!

Here they are compared to the old ones;

Oh and also I should also mention right about now that technically there was a “deluxe” version of this fig for an extra $50 that came with more accessories

But clearly I don’t think this fig needed much else!

What we got here is perfectly serviceable! It clocked in at around $115 (more expensive than She-Hulk) but again, fantastic quality for that price!

All in all I’m really impressed!
