Crosscheck is out here again with another fig that’s uh… well… it’s fine…

In my personal taste, it’s a fig that’s a bit over-designed, a bit too stiff looking, all with a perfect head and hairpiece!

The bits that catch my eye the strongest (in a not-so-positive way) are the legs. Those shoes in particular have just waaaaay too much going on! Perhaps it’s the lighter shade of grey ink they decided to go with?

For one thing, it’s odd that the shoes and the wrinkles in the pants are the same color. But all of it is just way too bright. Perhaps if they toned it down a little it wouldn't be so jarring? Like… I don’t hate them. In fact I feel that if CC simplified the shoes and darkened them than it wouldn’t look too bad.

The torso is a bit better. Still a lot going on, but with the color they chose to print the details in, it isn’t as jarring. The sleeves and “belt area” in particular feel really refined where they probably don’t need to be.

Take out a handful of those vertical lines, print them in dark brown, and let them blend with the torsos better, idk. Like I said, I’m fine with this final look, but it coulda been… different.

The red/silver spider-bits are good! Nice and shiny, crisp, and spaced well from the top of the torso to the raggedy t-shirt. Good color application for that shirt too! A perfect match to Lego-Official Teal!

In the grand scheme of CC’s design, it’s not a perfect fig for me, but it’s close. All thanks to that head and hair to save the fig for me (minus the fact that it’s printed on a knock-off head ((I think…? …it looks weird and tubular doesn't it? 👀)))

But that hair! The receding hairline and just how thin it is to the head, wow! Fantastic stuff! Even the facial designs are great! The three inks for the double layered stubble is subtle (you know I had to). The minor wrinkles and bags under the eyes are light enough to blend in if you’re not looking too strongly.

I do find the alternate expression a bit redundant, given how similar the two are. Woulda been nice to get maybe a larger smile and some raised eyebrows to contrast the neutral face?

(granted, Tobey hardly expresses anything that entire movie so idk)

But speaking of subtle, check out the hand prints for this fig!

Two spiderwebs (plus a spider bite scar on the right hand) This print is SO small that I nearly missed it all together during the review photography stage! I’m telling you guys, handprints are the final frontier of custom lego printing and we’re seeing it more and more every day!

Just like with ZoomDesign’s fig, this is a nice compliment to LifeBrick’s main entree. Not only that, but in it’s own way encourages me to shoot some more No Way Home content (so that’s a double win for me!)

$80 for the fig! Only twenty more bucks than ZoomDesign and this fig blows that one out of the water! To be fair, Crosscheck has been at it for three years now, so it just goes to show where the skill level is at!

But all in all, good stuff though! Goooood stuff!
