I have no more tears left to cry... oh gosh.

Thank you so much for suggesting this drama to me. I think it healed parts of me in some ways. I don't think I've ever mentioned it, but my father died in 2013 and prior to that I never really had an active relationship with him as a son as he was often abroad or working. And yet I still felt his presence through the life that we were able to live. And watching this, maybe I felt that I lived vicariously through Eun Gyul having this re-connection with his father.

Hands down now my favorite Kdrama I've watched so far - both on and off screen! Bravo to the cast. I wish I could thank them in person for their performances.

More review at the end/outro.

I do expand on this on the intro but yes, please keep suggesting the next drama for me to react to. I probably won't jump in until August as I need to catch up on comebacks and other content. But I will look at trailers and synopsis!

Can't believe it's over already 😭 I enjoyed rewatching this kdrama with you as much as I enjoyed watching it for the very first time.

Moon

I wanna suggest HEAD OVER HEELS next pls, I'm very sure you are gonna love it❤️‍🩹

Cdrama: THE FIRST FROST 💖 It has such nostalgic romance vibes, and the leads are total GREEN flags 💚 you’ll love them for sure. Their chemistry was so good, it had me feeling all the feels and major kilig (bonus: the visuals were insane!!) 🥹 It's available on Netflix.

eve_ss

For Kdrama, I would suggest -- All of us are dead, Crash Landing on you, or Flower of Evil. Such different vibes, but all so good in their own way. 🫶

mac

I don't think this is a common recommendation but I highly suggest Move To Heaven 🤍 (10 episodes on Netflix - A young man with Asperger syndrome and his uncle work as trauma cleaners, clearing out the possessions of dead people, uncovering the stories they left behind and telling them to loved ones.) Also Death's Game! (not horror I swear LOL)

Jee Emm

Love this!!! been waiting for another season

YSM

When life gives you tangerines I highly recommend it🥰

SaBira Eresh

Thank you so much, Jeff, for your reaction. I cried with you. Truly, thank you for everything — these past few weeks have touched my heart so deeply. Choi Hyun Wook 🫠 He can embody any role so perfectly. I became his fan after Weak Hero. He’s such a rising star 💔 I absolutely adore him. And oh… I also have so much love for the grandma 🥹💔 Honestly, the entire cast was incredible. Every single one of them gave their all — such amazing work 👏

Laure

Thank you so much for reacting to this drama and sharing your story with us! This drama also healed so many things in me and many others. I am very glad you enjoyed it as much as I did! For drama recommendations, I am not sure if you’re into historical dramas but I recommend My dearest. It’s such a powerful drama and you just see how strong women are. For modern ones, I recommend When life gives you tangerine or Flower of evil. If you want to try cdramas, there are some good ones that I can recommend :)

rawan

thank u for sharing your story 🤍 may your father rest in peace. I’m really glad the drama could bring you some healing. it’s one of my absolute favorites too, so good and heartwarming. for the recommendation, I’d say Alchemy of Souls, it’s so good.

sanitizerr

yess plsss… it’ll be done by the time he reacts to the first few eps

Hi Jeff when boys 2 planet will be uploaded?

Purple

okay think of it this way.... how did Lee Chan get into an accident in this timeline? Cause he saved Eun Gyeol, pushed his son out of the car's way and got into an accident himself. A theme we have been seeing the whole show, Lee Chan will save his family, his son no matter what, in any form and situation. but, coming back to the point of the accident, if Lee Chan wasn't there to push Eun Gyeol out of the way and if Eun Gyeol was actually hit by the car, what would have happened to him? to the timeline? to the future? to his life? and why was Lee chan even there in the first place to be able to see what was happening and push Eun Gyeol out of the way? cause Maa Joo dragged him there! so everything happens for a reason. no matter how much you try to run away from fate, it will always appear in front of you, even if in different form. but this time, Lee Chan got hurt protecting his son. i think he would be satisfied!

I literally cried so much during these last 2 episodes😭 I think that future kdramas that I think you can watch are definitely 18 Again (if you are okay with rewatching), Hotel Del Luna, and High School Return of a Gangster (the actor for the deaf brother in Twinkling Watermelon is a main character in that show!). I really suggest Hotel Del Luna and/or High School Return of a gangster, actually!🔥 I was going to suggest it's okay to not be okay, but it may be hard to separate the drama from the real-life actor (Kim Soo Hyun is the main lead, that's why I say this)

Hi! Silent viewer here! This is my first time commenting, but I’ve been subscribing for a while now. I was so excited when I found out that you’d be reacting to Twinkling Watermelon because it gave me the perfect reason to rewatch my favorite drama hehe. It brought back all the feels, and I got to laugh and cry with you through it all over again. Your reactions reminded me just how much I loved this story so thank you so much for sharing this with us! I’m looking forward to more of your kdrama reactions. 🤍 For recommendations, based on the comments, I agree with 18 Again and Flower of Evil too! They’re amazing dramas, I hope you could react to them anytime you feel like it. It was actually hard for me to choose a next drama after Twinkling Watermelon because it’s just that good! 😂

camila Valdez

It makes me so happy that you loved this drama, I’ve watched it like 4 times and I cried the same amount. It feels like it was made with so much love and care 🥺🤍 and that’s why it’ll always be my favorite

Madonna Lowry

Cried a lot with you 😢. Alchemy of souls two seasons and When life gives you tangerine are great to watch.

aidrou

I really suggest you watching Hotel del Luna next

VanMitz

I love watching drama with you and your reaction; it makes it even more worth watching. I cried a lot on this drama; it's such an amazing drama. I would recommend Love to Hate You, a short romance K-drama, Mr. Queen, Love Revolution, or Love Song for Illusion. I think you'll find them interesting, and I would love to watch them again with your reaction. Thank you for reacting to this; it was amazing.

JEFF KDRAMA / CDRAMA SUGGESTIONS ¬ FAMILY MATTERS ¬ HIDDEN LOVE ¬ FIRST FROST ¬ EVE ¬ HEAD OVER HEALS

YSM

The accident wasn't Majoo's fault. And if he hadn’t brought Lee Chan outside, Lee Chan wouldn’t have been able to save his son🥲

Virginie Pistagnesi

Where do you find them to watch? I have viki and iquiyi.

Judith Ratz

Yeeeeees! Move to Heaven is so good! I also recommend it wholeheartedly! ✨🙌🏼

gigi

Had so much fun rewatching this with you Jeff. I’d definitely recommend the one and only When Life Gives You Tangerines. It’s so good, it’s rated 9.1 on IMDb, which I think speaks volumes on its own🤌🏻

David

It was such a pleasure rewatching this show with you. I love it and I'm glad you enjoyed it just as much.

Marcia

It's okay to not be okay was my favourite Kdrama and I watched it 10+ times, but it's weird now considering the Kim Soo Hyun situation. It's still fantastic and has great messages though!

Marcia

I'm currently watching your My Demon reaction and I think you would really enjoy Hotel Del Luna! It's a fantasy drama and IU does a great job as the female Lead.

Sabi

I don't cry easily I usually just tear up, but this is the first show I ever watched that made me actually cry... Grandmas monologue in the hospital got me bawling 💔 Thank you Jeff for this reaction, if it wasn't for you I would have probably never watched it myself. Would have missed out on this GREAT KDRAMA!

page.eliza

wow. i’m genuinely so glad i rewatched this and im so glad you enjoyed it. from all the dramas you’ve watched it seems that we have rlly similar tastes thank you so much for letting me relive this 🥹

Day

Mr. Queen is so good I think he’d enjoy it fs 🙂‍↕️

Chanheekang❤️

Hi jeff i suggest you watch family by choice hwang in-youp is the main lead i think it similar with this k drama i know you will love it !!

Krteček

Ok, so am I the only one who was 100% sure we're getting a slideshow of their life at the end? Like photos of them dating and graduating and wedding pics etc.? Because I needed that!! Anyway, I watched a few reactions and it's interesting that people either think it's too slow and it drags a lot OR think it's the best thing they ever watched. I'm normally into thrillers, but I thought this one was absolutely life changing. I swear I cried every other episode (like you did) and I felt inspired and nostalgic and sad and happy and like I want to apply all those life lessons to my own life (I won't, but still). I didn't care much for the main couple (I did care for them as indidual characters, just not the romance), but I was SO invested in the parents romance and I agree all the actors brought so much character into those roles. But yeah, I've heard many people say they couldn't finish it and found it boring and I think it's so interesting that people have such extremely different reactions to it:)

cinnamonroll

i want to suggest Under the Queen's Umbrella. it's a historical drama, but you'll enjoy it a lot. i've watched many dramas and i'm not a fan of historicals, but this is the only one that is on par with Twinkling Watermelon in terms of it's delivery and message imo. it may be super slow at first but 100% gonna be worth it. i hope you'll give it a chance 🙏🏻

Kylie

Hi Jeff! I really enjoyed watching your reaction to this drama. It’s actually my all-time favorite, so I was super excited to see that you reacted to it—and I loved watching your take on it! I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment, but there are a few dramas I’d really love to recommend, so I thought I’d leave them here just in case. First, I highly recommend "Signal." It’s kind of a mystery/crime drama, and the storyline is absolutely incredible. It can feel a bit complicated at first, but once you get into it, you’ll realize just how brilliant it is. Seriously, it’s mind-blowing... I also want to suggest "Doom at Your Service." It’s a romance drama with such a unique and emotional storyline. Personally, I loved it so much and I think you’ll really enjoy it too—it’s definitely worth watching! Lastly, if you’re into school dramas, I’d recommend "School 2013"and "Who Are You: School 2015." They both offer great stories and strong characters. All of these are seriously worth checking out—I don’t think you’ll regret watching any of them. Thanks again for your content. I always enjoy your uploads! 😆

Kylie

Oh! I totally forgot to mention one more drama—"While You Were Sleeping." It’s got a mix of fantasy, romance, and legal stuff, and the storyline is super interesting from the start. I really loved it, so I think you might enjoy it too if you haven’t seen it yet!

SN00PY29

Thank you for reacting to this! I really enjoyed rewatching it with you ☺️ This is actually one of my top 5 favorite K-dramas along with Alchemy of Souls (Seasons 1 & 2), Hotel Del Luna, Dr. Romantic (Seasons 1, 2 & 3) and Arthdal Chronicles (Seasons 1 & 2) all of which I highly recommend watching🤍 If you're looking for other suggestions with a similar vibe, you might enjoy Head Over Heels or Who Are You: School 2015

randomz

soleo

Not sure if you're still reading the comments here or if you've already decided on a new kdrama, but I just wanted to share! Twinkling Watermelon, twentyfive twentyone and Weak Hero are definitely my favorite K-dramas out of everything I’ve watched, so I honestly don’t know what I could recommend that would top them. But one drama that pleasantly surprised me was Family by Choice. It also deals with family issues, but I found it really healing, kind of like Twinkling Watermelon

TsubasaSebong

I agree. If ever someone asks, I would always recommend Twinkling Watermelon (or if they want tragedy, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart). I love your reaction, Kuya Jeff!
