Yay was excited for Boys Planet - I'm waiting and watching with you so its more fun. My fave is Kang Min (Verivery) - I watched him MC with Moonbin and Sanha on Show Champion for 2 1/2 years and he was like a little brother to them. Moonbin even bought him a computer when he told them he had to go to internet cafes to play games. So I have a huge soft spot for him. Excited to get to know some of the others as well. Boys Planet is always so fun!

Tip: Kany's husband is Korean. And she's also familiar to Koreans who don't know K-pop because she appeared entertainment shows together as a friend of SHINee Key. And the experienced trainee you kept mentioning that he seems to have been in the Produce series is Lee Hyeop from Drippin. He came out as an individual trainee on X 101 and I remember his vocals in Monday to Sunday were impressive. Personally, it's amazing that there seems to be a custom of sending out male trainees who are young or have a short practice period from the Produce series. In season 2 is Yoo Seonho and Lai Kwanlin, in x101 absent, in Boys Planet 1 is Park Doha, and this season is two middle school students who did Boy in luv. In the female season, on the other hand, they send skilled trainees such as Soyeon from I-dle and Chowon from Lightsum.

My Top 8 so far: 1. Sangwon (my bias from Trainee A) 2. Leo (loved those two since Trainee A days) 3. Park Donggyu (loved him from the PR videos, he didn´t get much attention pre show, hope that changes now) 4. Kim Inhu (don´t know, liked him every time he was on screen this episode) 5. Hsu Chingyu (loved his dancing and I like his personality so far) 6. Kang Woojin (watched his busking video and his voice...) 7. Yoo Kangmin (really liked him in this episode) 8. Kim Junseo (exited for his performance)

trainees i'll be keeping my eyes on: 1. park donggyu: his rapping was reaaally good in the signal song, i was gagged. it's crazy that he's good at singing too 2. hsu chingyu: he's so expressive during the signal song i had to search him up. love him more after the audition. he's kinda too young tho 3. kang woojin: love his tone. can't wait to see him grow 4. lee sang won: though they say his light was gone, there was fire in his eyes when he's performing. i literally got goosebumps 5. lee leo: the group gonna have great songs if he debut. such strong vocalist 6. jun lee jeong: love his energy in the signal song. he seems nice in the interview too. i hope he does well in the audition 7. yechan & taejo: their performance was GOOD. but i don't really have a soft spot for them yet. we'll see thank you jeff this was a fun rewatch. can't wait for the c group version!

Okay adding context to trainee a including the controversy and where the members are now: Trainee A was a HYBE bg set to debut under big hit (BUT big hit never claimed them publicly even though they were in the big hit building (pre HYBE) and everything.) Trainee A would post vlogs, practices, song covers, their own songs etc and were the most public I’ve ever seen a trainee be. They amassed a huge amount of fans (especially since it was during covid) and were a highly anticipated group. Trainees in HYBE have a “battle” between each-other especially companies vs companies. One of these battles was uploaded online (forget from where but either a random HYBE account or trainee a’s) and Leo made a vulgar/misogynistic rap. He rapped to playboi cartis song “Stop Breathing” but he changed the rap a bit, he changed the “I take my shirt off and all the hoes stop breathin” line into “ain’t nobody gon tell me why that bitch stopped breathin. Fuck that hoe in my bank”. He made this rap idea a storyline throughout 3 whole songs (iirc) He caught major and I mean major flack for that and within a couple hours his name was trending on Twitter (that’s how popular trainee a was). Leo is from Australia so English is his first language and he was also 19 at the time. Big Hit seeing the backlash hid Leo away from all trainee a activities. Leo posted an apology owning up to his mistake (this is where discourse is on whether you accept his apology or not) and also made an in person apology at a fan event in LA. Though he apologized the criticism was non-stop and affecting the whole group which is when it was announced that Leo would be leaving trainee a. Issue is that trainee a was built around Leo, he was quite literally the core of the whole group (just how RM is bts’ core and Yeonjun and txts’ core). So due to Leo leaving, the group crumbled and their debut was cancelled. Which obviously sucks for all the members but if you debuted the rest it would have been an OT7/OT6 fan war from the jump and the fandom was already divided over Leo leaving. Trainee A members: Leo - from Australia, after leaving Big Hit he took a break and eventually signed with B.I agency 131 label where he debuted as a soloist. His contract with them ended earlier this year and he has since signed with GRID entertainment Yorch- from Thailand, and he was the first to join GRID entertainment and debuted in their 5 member boy group called ‘POW’ in 2023. Sangwon- trained with txt (txt was already formed at that point but txt would sometimes train with trainees bc big hit likes imposing fear that you’re replaceable ✨) . He then trained with majority of enhypen members but those trainees were selected to go to I-LAND and join Belift while Sangwon was to stay in Big Hit. After the cancelled debut he took to working at a cafe, some modeling gigs, and DJ at night clubs and very much gave up the idol dream. Kinda worried that if Leo doesn’t make it in Sangwon might drop the group if he makes it in. Think it’s pretty obvious that Sangwon anxiety is sky high. Joined GRID like last month Woochan - korean, and he has now debuted in TheBlackLabels new co-ed group ‘ALL DAY PROJECT’. He is also an insane rapper and made it to the semi finals of SMTM 6 at the age of like 13. Got his first RAK back then too on the charts as a rapper. Jihoon- Korean, and has now debuted in pledis new bg ‘TWS’ JJ - Japanese American, insanely talented street dancer has won many awards and has been acknowledged by big names. He is now apart of SM25 rookies and is touring with SMTown. James- Chinese Thai, and is the only trainee a member to remain in big hit. He worked behind the scenes a lot; was a background dancer for Jungkook 3D promotions, has helped choreograph for ILLIT and TXT. He will be debuting in Big Hits newly announced boy group on August 18th. Also another participate on the kside named Junil was also in trainee a but was cut from the final group.

the thing with k center isnt looking so good honestly but regardless of that (for now) you pointing out mnets editing about his entrance/performance its something lmaooo like most of twt ppl watching also noticed that and you cant help but compare his skill level at audition vs other centers since produce series it does give mnet edit manipulation ngl lets just see how this develops in coming weeks

There are only 3 levels 1 star 2 star 3 star (3 star is All Stars). So anyone getting 2 star is just one tier below all stars. So it's okay actually. I said this since u said 2 star is a stretch in case of SIhwan. Though it recently came out that there are allegations against Sihwan for bullying, sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour.

Kim geonwoo is exposed as a bully. He is the K centre (you are right in recognising him) but an anonymous netizen revealed that he bullied younger trainees , not older trainees, in the company. He abused his authority as a favoured trainee and younger trainees lived in fear of him. Now this is still a rumour but the netizen provided evidences and most likely it is true! I can't believe Mnet let him be the K centre! I am so pissed of. I was looking forward to him but with recent news I just want him out of the show coz I don't want other trainees to suffer and I don't want him to debut in the group or else the group is done for! His audition was also average. That dancing was very average and I agree with the judges wanting to give him 2 stars. That was not a 3 star performance. I was more impressed by the gen alpha 9th graders before him! And he did get the Hanbin edit probably coz he wrote Hanbin is his role model! But I think the news about him being a bully has left a sour taste in my mouth and he ruins my mood whenever I see him in the show.😔😔 And don't worry about your thoughts on geonwoo's performance coz most of us have the same opinion as yours and him getting 3 stars felt like mnet rigging stuff or something like that.

My favorites for now without order: - Park DongGyu - Rensho (why is nobody talking about him? His dance and facial expressions were perfect and he also seems to have and nice personality, very idol-like) - Yeom Yechan - Hsu ChingYu - Lee Leo - Sangwon - Kang Woojin And I lowkey root for Lee Yoonmin as well, and the two kids who did Boy in love even though I don't see them debuting now.

So C trainees have chinese trainees while K trainees have korean, japanese, thai, taiwanese, USA and from any other country apart from China. Chuei Liyu, Hsu Chingyu, these names sound chinese coz they are taiwanese and taiwanese trainees are under K group.

You know from the PR videos, and signal songs stages I really like geonwoo and I was ready to root for him...and with all this allegations coming out I'm just staying neutral waiting to see how it turns out...because I was really ready to root for him lol but well. other than him I'm rooting for junseo, kangmin, yechan (love his rap and dance on the audition this eps) and woojinnnn damn I got the yohan feeling..but I am really excited for this season and a lot of them have caugth my eye already.

I wonder how Kim geonwoo became a centre. We have heard about how younger trainees feared him and he bullied them. If like last season, trainees had to vote for the centre, were they like pressurised into voting for him out of fear. All sorts of theories are coming to my mind!

I have the same list except Rensho and Leo coz Donggyu was memorable to me from the IST group. And Leo, I heard some controversies about him so I don't know if I will support him. I wish there wasn't any controversy coz I was very impressed by his performance and it's a damn shame he is roped into a controversy about being a mysogynist and writing rap lyrics dmeaning women or something like that. I do hope he is not but I will only support him if he there is nothing to it. Sangwon was amazing. Almost wish he was the K centre! I was also impressed by the two 9th graders. I love Yechan. I saw him in Project7 and I liked him but unfortunately he was eliminated very soon. Woojin was great! Beautiful vocals and vocal tone and texture. Hsu CHingyu was great.

rewatching this again 😆 i actually agree with u jeff how this group’s concept when they debut would probably more darker than zb1, more rap and powerful dancing. aside from their signal song, mnet also keeps on including the word “alpha (strong,powerful)” in all b2p contents so people thinks this might actually the concept they’re going for the debut

the 1 star elimination is only after missions which they haven't started or shown on episodes yet. If you get 1 star during the start of show it isn't a immediate elimination whereas no star you get eliminated on the spot.

I'm also obsessed with Kim Jun Min >_< he has similarities with Jay from Enhypen a little bit. MY TOP8 K-GROUP LINEUP: 1.Sangwon 2.Leo 3.Kangmin 4.Junseo 5.Sanghyeon 6.Kang Woojin 7.Donggyu 8.Jun Min I do understand but not understand at the same time why Li Yu (is Taiwanese) is so popular if he's lacking skills (ofc face card) I hope he's improving a lot in the future episodes! Geonwoo is the talk in town due to his bullying rumors.. I must say his performance isn't all star worthy, it was a mid performance and they were better performances.. kinda disappointed, a lot of people talked about him big and he seemed to be very popular but he's lacking in dance also his vocals arent impressive at all. He has no Stage presence, no charm no aura but got to be the center of the signal song.. he's not center material at all. Apparently I heard that he left the show (not sure if its true) if thats the case its the first time a center of the signal song doesn't make it to the lineup xD also another candidate Kim Shiwan is a sexual abuser (the one four man team was in a team with Park Donggyu) and there is another candidate who seemed to be problematic as well (don't remember his name) Even the some of the C-Trainees are better than Geonwoo xD And the one who surprised me was Kang Woojin, he got 3mil views for his audition performance and gained a lot of attention and popularity I think he is going to debut. I love it if unknown people perform and everyone is stunned. He made it right to my lineup. I'm sure that if Sangwon would make it and Leo not.. that he will leave the group definitely. And Sangwon definitiv make it to the lineup because he's always P01 (by K votes and second 2 by C votes, by 1 pick he's first place and by 8 pick he's first place) he's pretty much popular. I think it will be between Sangwon & Kangmin (he's P02 and also pretty popular) btw Leo is was supposed to be the Main Rapper (so he's actually an ace also a main vocal material) Sangwon is more Main Dancer material/Center Material. Trainee A was a pre-debut boy group formed in early 2021 under Big Hit Music. The trainee lineup consisted 6 members: Yorch (debuted) , Sangwon, Woochan(debuted), James (making his debut on August new BigHit Group) , JJ (is in SM25 En.) and Jihoon(debuted). They were set to debut in 2022, but the boy group was cancelled on December 23, 2022. Trainee A gained a lot of fans and were known. They were also active on TikTok uploaded dance covers and they were pretty much hyped. Leo got a lot of hate for his dodgy lyrics in the past that was 4years ago and Leo apologized in public.. I'm sure he changed and learned from his past mistakes. But sadly that there are people out there bringing it up even though it was 4 years ago.. dragging someone who made a mistake 4years ago is stupid while a sexual abuser is out there.

That's why Lee Sooman was obsessed with making into the Chinese market. He'd been trying since Zhang Liyin and Super Junior M, and succeeded for a while. Before foreign idols had enough of being treated like crap in his company and left. And I agree with you on the Geonwoo end. Apart from the whole bullying scandal, I feel like they were reaching by placing him in All Star and having him as center? He was clearly a pd-pick, and not for his skills. You totally knew what you were talking about, tho LOL He was mid. He lacked that star power we saw in Hanbin and other contestants in the past.
