thanks for reacting again jeff!! i hope you could watch the audition videos on yt, as far as i know there are 27 audition videos that mnet didnt show both ep 1 & 2 and these auditions were even much better that those who were shown in 2 ep :(( i just felt sad for those trainees bc they are too talented

Harry June and Heechan made the choreo for their performance themselves. I think Back down by P1H orifinakku doesn't have much choreo so Harry and Heechan made the choreo and adapted it to their style.

People should not judge trainees via signal song evaluations. The songs are always extremely high and a disservice to rappers! And not all vocalists need to be able to sing at a high range. They can sing at low or middle range too! Doesn't make them bad vocalists! We all saw in BP, Jongwoo got 1 star but he was a great trainee. He went to the finals. He proved himself to be a really good trainee! So signal song evaluations should never be taken seriously! Heechan is a rapper. It's okay. Harry snd heechan will show what they are capable of in the next mission.. hope they get enough votes to survive 1st elimination

As someone who also is falling in love with donggyu, your reactions to him is so relatable 🤣 Watching along with you, I could tell that they were rushing the rest of the evwnulatuons/not showing them as much😭 wish we could've seen more. Apparently only the k group received the North star sponsorship, c group didn't receive that with it's really sad. There's already been so much Sinophobia in the c group unfortunately I already know what happens in the next episode, and like I'm so curious for your opinions on certain things that will come up🫠

The fact that 80 trainees filmed the signal song means that the trainees who failed after receiving a no-star in the first evaluation were also called back to shoot... There are many good performances that have not been shown properly on the show, and I would like to recommend a performance where the vocals and rap are really attractive. About Sho teaching the choreo may I say I feel it's Mnet trying to make things appear more dramatic than they actually are. Honestly, nobody told him to teach other contestants about the choreo, actually if he'd been more strategic about it he would have just let others keep on doing mistakes as that would have made him stand out more instead. It's flabbergasting how they're trying to make him look bad for actually taking time off of his practice time to help others

nah cuz what's the point having rap section in the song if they're still gonna evaluate based of the highest vocal part of the song... that makes zero sense... this is such a rigged show and so many moments already made me wanna quit the show but there's already so many ppl I love to stop supporting them like this so here I am...

My favorites are all underdogs lol, they are all uber talented but sidelined completely by either mnet or by the voters. Yoonmin, Yunseo, and Taejo are my top 3 right now and I cant see any of them making the group but damn do they deserve it!

I also like Junseos face, but I don't think as a performer he is doing his best? I think hes playing a different game if it makes sense? I think he can do more performance wise and I am waiting for it but until then I dont think hes 3 star material or debut line up material. But he is alot of people's favorite so 🤷‍♀️

From the K-group I really like Sangwon, Leo, Hsu Chingyu (need to see him more, but his dancing is great), and Donggyu (honorary, love his tone). The other half of my lineup is from the C-group. Honestly, being non-biased I do not mind that Sangwon was unable to hit the high notes in the signal song. As you mentioned, not everyone needs to be able to hit them, everyone takes different positions/roles in a kpop group, and he is able to bring different things to the group. Do we need members who can sing those high notes? Yes, but does everyone need to be able to hit them? No. He danced great, and sounded great on the all the other notes which shows he has talent, same goes to some of the other trainees. Calling the trainees who did great on everything, but the high notes not/less talented is not fair. Also, so unfair to trainees who are rappers or who have low registers. Honestly, I really dislike how fans will argue that idols are better or worse based on how high they can sing. An idol or singer in general can be a great vocalist regardless of vocal range in my opinion. Just because someone can hit a certain note over someone else, does not make them a better singer/vocalist. Can it be true? Yes, but is it always the case? No.

Hmmm for Sangwon I really like him, but I think he should have been dropped to 2... hes great but if they put other people who cracked in 2 then he should have dropped as well honestly. I think he just got caught in the moment and pushed for the high note, or maybe it was a matter of pride? Either way I'm not worried about him, hes one of the few that will debut for sure at this point. But I also wanted to see the other 3 stars both who went down and stayed!!

My first pick even before the show started is junseo..he is my bias ion wei lol..I do think he is playing it too save, like he needs to step out of his comfort space, cuz I really like him and might be my one pick if he gets better, really like him being a leader tho that was great. I also really like kangmin, yoonmin, leo, sangwon, and yechan Also, hyeop's elimination was kinda sus, because there were trainees that did worse then him and also he got the views and was on the top 8 of the blind vote, so is not really making sense...

I’m honestly sooo incredibly upset for Yoonmin. He had an INCREDIBLE audition (one of my top 5 K auditions) which he got an all star for and then also received an all star for his signal song test and yet Mnet chose not to showcase either. He is like a genuine insane all rounder on this show and Mnet has quite literally given him a grand total of 5 seconds of screen time.

I really don't mind sangwon not being able to hit the high notes, to me he's one of the only ones showing star quality, his dancing is great and his vocals are not bad when he's singing in his range. Also if they didn't show most peoples attempt at the high note then it's pretty obvious most people couldn't hit it. And some people were allowed to bring the song down to their range and no one commented on it, idk why sangwon and others were stomped on so much in this episode...

I am honestly baffled by how much time this episode was spent on Chuei Liyu. I have nothing against him but MNET seems to be really pushing him. He is a 1 star trainee, with not much experience. Is it purely his visuals? Just curious of your thoughts

ya the criteria wasn’t really mentioned or emphasized. the way i interpreted it was that the signal evaluation + likes on their fancams. i’m saying likes instead of views cause some trainees on c ep said one person had lots of views but moved down. it’s also like that with wswf

you're actually very sharp for catching that geonwoo does not have any screen time when he's the k center. you can look up "geonwoo bully" on twitter and there would be enough threads for you to get the situation, but it's quite serious. bullying is a serious matter in korea, so mnet is being careful. i predict that if his votes are not cracking top 8 next time, mnet will either keep cutting his screen time or find a way to eliminate him. geonwoo has released an apology letter under WAKEONE, which was another headline itself because he's supposed to be an individual trainee. i think he'll be the first produce/planet center to not debut...

I fully agree, plus he is so handsome, like SO handsome. I don't understand why more people aren't talking about his face - he has the visuals that fit perfectly with the whole 'alpha' theme of the show and he's tall (182 cm). I search his name on twitter and tiktok everyday just for updates and turns out he's super close friends with TWS Dohoon and he can do really cool bike tricks. If you ever get bored and want some tiktoks of him lmk, I'll send you some! Side note - there's like a surprising growing ship of him and Sangwon for some reason, idk how it started or what material is fueling it (I don't think I've ever seen them hold a conversation on the show lol) but it's been slowly growing speed. That honestly might boost up his popularity too (hopefully).

if its based on first ep popularity, i think woojin could also get enough edits and screentime given that his audition was one of the most viral and popular one so i think mnet is really pushing liyu. nothing against liyu tho bc i also like him but i think mnet is pushing him as liyu is one the few trainees that really has that star aura. he is also one of the most popular trainees pre show bc of mnet’s visual poster

This is a bit off the track, but since we're in the heat of survival shows, I'd like to recommend a show called Produce Camp 2019. This is the Chinese version of Produce 101, and is the second season of the series with male trainees. There's one rule in the placement test/first audition that is interesting and very fair: the number of A-class members is the same as the debut group's, which is 11. When a 12th participant is graded A, the already-graded As with the same skills can battle with him to secure a spot in the A class. This has been a rule since season 1 and remains for all 4 seasons of the series, and imo, it shows what the competition is aiming for and ignites the competitiveness and drive within participants. Though they didn't re-arrange the classes after the Theme Song mission (for this season only, since its format was a school with classes and homeroom teachers), like the Korean version, what was more important was how they performed and appealed to the audience through every mission. Since it's such an old show, the group formed through this, called R1SE, has already disbanded, but their performances and skills as a group are top-notch. They had released great songs and phenomenal performances, especially on the show We Are Blazing, where groups compete against one another. If you are interested, you can search for it, watch on your own, or react to it, and the latter is what I anticipate.

mnet has pushed 1 star trainees before that made the final lineup. I can't remember the name, but it reminds me of how they edited the girl who was an actor in produce 101 but didn't dance well at the beginning. I think some of it is also not revealing how good some people are, so they can seem to pop out of nowhere later for a more dramatic rise. I see that with a lot of the 2-star candidates who are popular from other survival shows and already have fan bases.

totally ya it was pretty evident. an xin (c center) had a whole storyline in their ep. the contrast is stark.

I really like Harry June and Heechan. I really hope they can get some proper screentime showcasing their strengths, rather than having their only behind the scenes part be about this season's MC's (Sangwon and Leo). All the trainees that had their audition cut or put in the episode basically got softrigged to have less votes since people were already voting last week after the performances. I saw a couple online that didn't even make it to the screen that were so so good. The production team has been making some really off choices.

Honestly Sangwon should have dropped to 2 together with the other allstars that cracked. That way mnet's favouritism of him would have been a tiny bit less obvious. T_T I have him in my lineup but I really don't like how much extra screentime him and Liyu this episode when there were trainees who's audition never even got broadcaseted. (An they're GOOD auditions too.)

the criteria is actually shown on the screen they didn't translate it but 70% from master evaluation and 30% from star creators which is from views and likes converted to points. then to get the ones who will advance to the merge they averaged the scores from both K and C to get the top 80. makes sense to me why most of the c trainees got cut. if you would look at the views their average view count is definitely lower than the k trainees. then add the fact that the masters in c group seems to be stricter with them compared to the k group hence it made sense why most of the c group got cut and some of the talented ones in c moved down a star, as you can see here there were a lot of all stars in the k group already and there's probably a cap on the number of all stars hence some went down. its totally unfair to the c trainees though they deserved better

It’s not fair to the C trainees because YouTube is blocked in China. Not everyone was watching K and C. K trainees are more well known as well. Should have done a 40-40 split so people could learn more about the C trainees.

I don’t know how jung hyun jun handled being in front of his fave that well… I was on stage with sarah geronimo once (I think jeff knows her)… I didn’t stutter but it’s obvious that I’m nervous 🤣 jung hyun jun is so talented pls vote for him. I know he’s young but he’s been doing this for a very long time, like he’s actually with anxin and other guys in makemate??? I also love him cuz he’s a kany fan and I love kany cuz she works for beyonce🤣
