This was both fun and a very interesting conversation! It actually took me 2 hours to film this - way too long for the 35-min original video. I was planning to film another video after this but my brain was FRIED afterwards 😅

So two hours of filming reduced to 1 hour. Basically I re-filmed a couple of areas to be more cohesive with my thoughts. I was kinda all over the place with some topics as there were so many thoughts running through my head about this whole conversation. My whole thought-process also wasn't just about what Jungwon was discussing but also about what I think of Enhypen's new direction in general. I hope I'm able to share my thoughts clearly but happy to refine some things if you guys want follow up in the comments.

2:20 reminds me that time a fan asks Niki 'XO or bad desire' and Niki said he don't like bad desire lol

When this episode aired, Jungwon’s comments were interpreted in all sorts of ways. People suggested that, as the group’s representative, he was speaking on Heeseung’s behalf, or that he was trying to overshadow him, or that he was trying to make Heeseung look selfish because Heeseung wanted to go solo. To be honest, I don’t think any of that. I think Jungwon is speaking entirely on his own behalf here and interpreting things from his own perspective. We can actually tell from his character that these thoughts are his own. As you said, Jeff, there’s no right decision in this matter. Because in life, everyone has their own perspective and the life they want to live according to the path they wish to take. If we set aside the debates about him being kicked out of the group and forced to go solo, the fact that Heeseung wanted to pursue a solo career doesn’t make him a selfish or bad person. Because everyone’s ideals are different. On the other hand, I can understand why Jungwon isn’t considering a solo career—he wants to stay with the group. At this stage, I don’t think any of them would fail if they pursued a solo career. After all, they all have fan bases that would support them. I think this is one of the edited-out parts, but Jungwon mentions here that the others have chosen to stay with the group, that they’re starting afresh, and he thanks them. For someone who, when talking about himself on the programme, says he cares about what others think of him and tries to make those around him happy, it’s understandable that he would want to stay when the others want to stay as a group. Although it started out as a business venture, they faced many challenges together, laughed a lot together, and had a great time. They realised that by sticking together and supporting one another during difficult times, they could get through them more easily. Naturally, a bond of brotherhood formed between them. This includes Heeseung. The fact that he left the group to pursue a solo career does not change this reality. When I put myself in their shoes, I can understand both sides. That is, if this is the whole picture. If there’s more to it, things would change, of course, but based on the current situation – what we know and what has been explained to us – I will continue to support ENHYPEN and HEESEUNG. It’s a bit long comment, I’m sorry. 😔

hi! not sure as i only really follow a very few amount of groups in the line up this year and didn’t feel worth the money to buy the livestream. like enha is only doing the park one too so that’s a separate ticket from the con. but i guess if there are reuploads i could. i will however react to the mnet mega coffee concert!

jeffavenue

right?? i was gagged when he said that! such a good song 🥲

jeffavenue

yea there were lots of comments on that. at this point, i think everyone’s just looking for answers from anywhere just to have closure. unfortunately in this situation, without looking at the entire context of this ep. i agree heeseung’s decision doesn’t make him selfish. he put a lot of work into enhypen and he gave it his all during his time with the group. now it’s just for him to embrace his own artistry. as many idols have done and will continue to do.

I'm sad because I don't think some of the fandom is trying to heal. They keep pushing their feelings on members and microanalyzing everything they do or say.

Omg thank you soo much for reacting to this! I really wanted to hear your thoughts 🥺 I love Jungwon sm he was always my bias in Enha even tho I love all of them just the way he is so honest with his words, love him 😭❤️ And when Jungwon was speaking about the group you can tell that he had teary eyes, so i also got a bit emotional 🥹 you can tell that he loves his members ❤️ I really hoped that fans will not overanalyse his words because for me it was quite obvious that he was speaking about his personal perspective on things… But I guess some fans just can’t move on from this situation which is sad I really think that the biggest thing we fans can do for them is just show the biggest support for both Enhypen and Heeseung I actually can’t wait for Heeseung’s solo project if i’m not mistaken its gonna be released this June, so freaking exited 🤩

KC

Thank you so much for this. Sooooo love your thoughts! I also agree that everything is his OWN perspective. He’s not shading anyone and he’s not speaking for the other member’s perspective. What we can do best as fans is to support ENHA & HEE on their own endeavors now. Alsooo, we don’t mind seeing other content from other idols & would love to see you react to those you follow & went on this show as well. It was fun!

Shia

i have a link for enha cut if you need that! their vocals are great here so i hope you can do it

JEFFF you touched on everything beautifully with Jungwon's thoughts, and stuff you mentioned about the industry!🥹 You're right, the situation is honestly heartbreaking, but angles that you were hitting on was so true and that JUNGWONIE's thoughts on a team, himself, and what his perception is on everything is so real. Thank you for this JEFF, I really was waiting on a reaction and your thoughts on all of this, but my heart goes out to you and ALL the ENGENES. I know it's still super hard right now, but all we can do is be understanding and show all our love and keep supporting them because what JUNGWONIE said is right! THANKS for this JEFF, all loveee!! :)

Anika Bhattacharya

truly, you could really see the honesty here from him which hurt my heart a little but also gave me a lot of clarity! :)
