Recorded this earlier today - I initially wanted to post this right as I came home, but I forgot. So here it is before I doze off haha. Had a long workout and lots of fried tofu and soy curls for dinner. ~

edit: there’s a lil bit of accidental music at 6.12 from a silly copy-paste mistake. I’ll have it fixed in the morning ❤️

Who enjoys morning traffic!? Please share your secret for not absolutely hating all morning activities! 😆

CarelessWhisper

I fucking hate driving. Thank you for letting me play passenger princess 👸🏼

Acedia

*bumpy ass road**ambulance sirens* Yep, he's definitely in America. Leaving the house at 5am? No effing way. I'll just watch some YouTube shorts and wind back down before even thinking about stepping outside. We can't always actually help, but sometimes just listening gives that person some space to breathe and THAT helps. Idk, digital smooches help, I'm sure. Thanks for the little road trip, Crunch 💙

Ange

I listened to the whole thing, all the abstract “you’re helping me helping you helping me” yapping and after all that I’m still stuck on ImPoRtAnT cause it gave me whiplash. Not sure I’ve ever heard you sound so American.

Lena C

Thank you for the yapping, it was a much needed distraction from the 3 am tax panic. The yapping about news, friendnews and listening made me really emotional for some reason so I’ll pretend the bye kiss was a forehead-kiss and then maybe was followed up by a hug🫂 I find nightdriving kind of peaceful, not many cars on the road and a good podcast or a friend? Makes for the best drives. I generally hate driving in the winter though so I’ll likely not be doing any enjoyable driving until May next year because, you know, scandinavian winters are cruel😭 but I don’t mind being a passenger so I will come back to this one🥰

/gasp/ Twitch stream prequel?! I love prequels! 🤭 I. Still. Don't. Get. Why. Driving. Crunch. Is. So. Sexy. To. Me!!!! 🙉Ugh. I love how this felt like a phone call 🤧 and your voice 🫠 is it the angle of wherever the phone was placed? I feel like you were using a lower voice 😮‍💨 Oh, it felt so raw hearing all the bg noise. (Raw?! 👀 sorry sorry 🤭) I'm gonna be honest, I kind of dissociated and just listened to your mix of accents and wished I could speak the same way–pick and choose a comfortable pronunciation of words.. no judgement btw~ Please keep going! I love the Crunchy accent 🤭💕 Thank you for allowing us to help you, Mr. Crumch ☺️ even in our own little way of listening and thank you for helping us (me) with your company. Ah, December isn't over but I'm already missing Crunch time 😮‍💨 Umm 🤚 was the music insert at 06:15 intentional? 🤔 hehe hearing it at the beginning made me think you made a full song 👉👈 oh well~ To answer your question, I'm more of a listener in my friend groups, the hype woman, silent cheerleader/support typa friend.. so being the yapper "Althea" in this space helps me decompress in so many ways 😅 (apologies for my weirdness at times 🙈) Thank you for another driving Crumch audio 🤧 I'm also thanking past Crunch for saving up for your current car. I hope you can cheat your way into a full rest tonight 🥺 If not, I'll telepathically send warm cuddles until you fall back to sleep 🫂🤍 *gentle smoochies for u*

Around 6:12, Crunch. Easter egg? Just want to show off cute guitar music? 🤔 hmm... I used to go out for many drives around the middle of the night (think of 1-3am) because of the reason that I had so much trouble falling asleep (and traffic is a fucking ✨️pain✨️ in the daytime). This was mostly prominent when I was living back in sf, the streets would be empty, but some areas would continue to feel alive with people living their lives. Even with that, noticing the empty streets and seeing the contast from the hustle and bustle I'm used to in the daytime always intrigued me. Going to historic landmarks that would usually be surrounded by tourists or maybe picking up some food from the local shops that were still open. It was peaceful. Serene. Sadly, I don't drive around much at night around those times anymore, despite still having trouble staying asleep at night. I guess the bed is much more inviting in this city. Answering your question, I'm more of the listener and the motivator. The person who holds your hand when you feel scared, the one who will hype you up when you need motivation, when you need a shoulder to cry on and a new pair of eyes to view a situation. It's more wired into me to make sure that others feel heard and understood, for one doesn't know if they ever have that opportunity anywhere else. Even if I know that I can't help physically in some situations, knowing that someone is being heard and having the opportunity to yap away means a lot (which circles back to your talk on us helping you when you talk about your troubles. It's one way of helping, and I'm glad to know it gives you a chance to explore that). This Crunch time was really lovely! They all are, really. It's a nice way to have a peek at your daily quests, whether it's silly ones with the sweet Catboy (who somehow stole my treats, btw), or with ones like this where we have a moment to reflect in our brains along with you while we're being sweet passenger princesses 💅 but there was something about this one, you focusing on the road while your brain is whirling forth and back with sweet stories and concepts. I think it's just the thought of you driving. Yeah. Could be that 🫠 I think I yapped a little too much, so I'll end it here. Thank you, Crunchy! I hope your night is being gentle towards you, and I hope that when you sleep (and fingers crossed for a restful one), you have lovely dreams. Stay safe, meow meow 💙

hmmm, lots to think about here. i don’t think my thoughts on the topic of staying informed with the news can be summarized into a comment easily (i tried and didn’t like it lol) but i generally agree with you. we can more easily impact the lives of friends and family than we can make changes to what is happening on a national or global scale. i think staying informed is important, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of your mental health. being overwhelmed with bleak news of pain and suffering of so many people will eventually result in empathy fatigue. our minds weren’t meant to absorb all this information, and we cope by becoming numb to it. i think that is much worse than limiting yourself and not being informed on every single thing happening so you can have the mental space to support friends, family, and your local community sleep well crunchy ✨

i usually go for a drive at 1 or 2 am, speed on the empty highway, blast the stereo, and scream at the top of my lungs 🌃 cos that’s the only time i truly get away from people, and have the world to myself 💫 but it’s been nice having crunchy’s voice in the background when i drive these days, very therapeutic ~ i wouldn’t ask for any other company 💗 you have no idea how sharing the most mundane things could light up my day, like i just went out n got a coffee listening to this ☕️ and i felt like i’ve set the mood right for the entire day✨ i’m ready to kick some ass 😎

I love these Crunch Times, especially when you're driving c: it does feel like I'm in a call with a friend while they're out and about. I adore that sometimes when you hear a silly noise that the road makes or something you immediately mimic it, which I do as well haha I feel like when my sleep is disturbed, be it insomnia or racing thoughts, I feel completely out of sorts- it feels like my brain is moving slower, I'm a little crankier, that kind of thing. It's not a nice feeling! I hope you can find some rest soon 💕

Peru-origin roasts are usually very flavorful. However, light roasts can be a dangerous game, hehehe. I hope it turned out beautifully! I really enjoy the "Drive with Me" CrunchTime series. They truly feel like being on a call with a friend and carry a lovely sense of nostalgia. Maybe it’s because I’m listening to them while sitting on my deck in front of my PC, getting ready to work. It probably reminds me of a time before I had fully established myself as a writer. Back then, I had a “normal” job alongside my writing because I couldn’t sustain myself on writing alone. I’d work during the day, come home, and write all night—it was exhausting. Having a friend on the phone something like this in the background, someone going about their day, occasionally talking to me but also ignoring me, was comforting. It created a familiar, grounding background noise. Of course, disturb me while I work now, and I’ll probably either ignore you or kick you out of the office—unless you’re too cute to resist and bring coffee, chocolate, or kisses. Any of those might work. Even though I don’t drive, that was a dream lost when my father decided to teach me in the same way a parent might throw a child into water and tell them to swim. Anyway! I don’t drive, but I adore being in a car, my head resting against the cool window glass, watching the world go by, with soft, gentle conversations . It’s incredibly peaceful and soothing. If you call Catboy CrunchTime silly again, I WILL fight you! I’ve said it before in another ramble— a textual one, if I recall correctly, where we talked about being dramatic, serious, and everything in between. Imagine how hard and dull life would be if we constantly walked through it with our “serious glasses” on. Goodness! I, for one, know I’d become unbearable and probably start biting people—and not in the fun way. Our brains are like sponges, constantly absorbing. But at some point, they reach their limit, and we need to “squeeze out” some of that excess. Being silly is like the hand that helps release that water and make room for new ideas. We need laughter, silliness, and sweetness in our lives. And most of all, we NEED Catboy! As for the news, well… I avoid them as much as I can. They make me anxious, sad, and derail my thoughts. I choose when and how much to consume so I can stay informed without overwhelming myself. As you’ve said, I prefer to keep my mental energy reserved for friends and family as much as possible. Speaking of that, are you a listener? Most of the time, I am. I enjoy being there, lending an ear, helping people untangle their thoughts, make sense of their troubles, and motivating them when I can. Sometimes, I’ll just be silly to make them smile and relax. But I do have people I turn to when I need support. Some are across oceans; others are just a walk away and some *waves at the proverbial couch* are unknown silly little brains in the internet ^-^. Distance doesn’t matter—they’re there when I need them, and I’m there for them in return. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that, even though we can’t ACTUALLY offer you our voices, words, advice, or any “true” interaction, we’re still, in some way, helping you a little. Even if it’s just by existing at some point in time, somewhere in a corner of the world, on the other side of an earbud, headset, or whatever we’re using to listen. Hearing your beautiful voice and gorgeous mind unfold your thoughts and worries is a gift. Thank you for letting us do that for you. As for sleep, my schedule is decent, though there are nights I struggle. Intrusive thoughts often argue with the rational part of my brain, making it hard to shut down. It’s tough to relax when your own mind refuses to let you rest. Anyway, I’ve rambled on for far too long! If you’ve made it this far, thank you—you’re incredibly sweet. I hope everyone has the most wonderful timezone and the sweetest of thoughts. Crunch, I hope tonight was a bit gentler for you and that you’re getting the rest you need. Sleep tight, and may your morning greet you with kindness whenever it arrives. You’re appreciated more than you know. Mwah, bye! <3

These audios are so nice. It is definitely like a phone call or like I'm sitting in the passengers seat ☺️ Good luck Mr Ambulance was adorable 🥰 I like how you spoke about the news and what kinds of news you should let affect you. I don't watch or read the news anymore because it makes me feel hopeless but if you just focus on what you can change, that would be more manageable Are you saying that we're Schrödinger's Listeners??

fleurfaust

Loving these Crunch times so much! Feels like a drive around, a road trip or even a phone call with a friend, just yapping and rambling about whatever. Always a pleasure to listen to what’s going on in your mind honestly. 💜

I love these driving Crunch times because I used to do something similar with my best friend who’s in Australia so our times would barely match for calls so I’d just record long voice notes while driving to or back from work 🤭🤭 Thanks for taking us along, love 💗
