Oh my gosh. I actually already forgot you were doing the daily yap this month. 🤣 What a happy surprise!! Thank you 💕 Came back to say I can't wait to get my new glasses because at first I thought you were holding a marijuana leaf 🥸

Hehehehe, hiya Crunch, all is well, and with you?? 🌼 Glad to hear the days are being good to you, hope it's stellar all the way forward. As for the brewing, just a small stint at the start of 2020 before the distilleries were allowed to operate again for the wine ventures, but mead sounds really interesting. Super excited to see the results should you choose it. 🐝 Thank you for this sweet update. Smoochies ⚘️⚘️

*I promise, I love what you talk about, regardless of the subject* Shout out to Alexis Nikole (Blackforager) for all your lovely plant identifying and snacking needs 🥰 been watching her content for ages, and not only is it informative and fun to watch, she's just *gorgeous* I've been doing the same this year with the plants! Found a lot of cuties in the yard that I wasn't aware were edible, like the cheeseweed (no, it doesn't taste like cheese. Even if it did, it would never replace my nooch). It's really fun learning what's in your backyard and the history of the plant's voyage if they're not originally common in the area. Happy to know you're enjoying yourself in that sector 🌱 Dandelion honey and mead! Ah, I'm all too excited for you, dude!! Do let us know how they turn out, once you get there? 🍯 I've been wanting to get more recipes to fancy up my dinner, but gosh do I get all nice and lazy sometimes. The baking bug has bitten me lately, so I've been leaning there the most for now. I know for certain that homemade jam season will return as soon as the first hint of summer hits this part of the world. Always here for the yaps, no matter what the topic is. Whether it's cooking, baking, plants, existential dread, or push-up sounds (no, I'm not trying to give you ideas.. maybe.. no I'm not.. but..) Thank you for another crunch time, they're a lovely treat. Good luck at the gym, and stay safe!! 💙

I'm well, thank you. A little low energy myself today. I think it will be an early (well, earlier, lol) bedtime for me tonight. Gardening and cooking were my two main hobbies for many many many years. I'm juuuust starting to rebuild those muscles little by little these days so it's fun to hear you talking about your adventures as I have my own rediscoveries. Re: poison ivy. You've probably already read this, but there's also poison oak and poison sumac in some areas so a good rule of thumb is leaves of three, leave them be (or at the very least exercise caution). And if you happen to realize you've come in contact after the fact, immediately wash everything with soap and water (skin *and* clothes). Try not to touch anything else with your skin or clothes until you've thoroughly decontaminated yourself. The oil from the leaves gets on stuff and has a way of hanging around, so if you put on a contaminated coat three weeks later, theoretically you could get a rash from that. Also, counterintuitively, the more you're exposed, the worse you will react. You don't build up a tolerance after repeated exposure, but the opposite. (Hi, I grew up near the woods with highly allergic family members who had to seek medical care at various points. Thank you for coming to my mother hen poison ivy TED talk. 😂) Speaking of woods, there's a pileated woodpecker in the woods behind my house that has been going craaaazy for the last week or so calling and hammering. Either he's really happy eating tons of bugs out of dead trees or he desperately needs a girlfriend. Hard to say. 😂 Have fun working out! See you tomorrooooooow.

*smoke alarm going off* "Distracted all by yourself, handsome? ✨" I like cooking small meals for one or two people when I can plan it out, but any more than that starts stressing me out which has been a recurring problem lately. I will gratefully eat anything you cook, especially if it means I don't have to cook after work lol FYI the mead/beer/wine is fine but making anything harder than that *might* be illegal (depends on the state maybe?). Not that I think anyone would enforce it as long as you're not selling it, but don't get your green card taken away over something silly lol But I am here for any and all yaps. Thank you for the daily yapdate 💙

i really enjoy baking, but i don’t like cooking that much. i think the problem is twofold: i don’t like cooking stove top (fear of fire) and by the time i decide to cook something i’m usually hungry and impatient for the finished product lol. that being said i would love a cooking ramble/recipes! like others have said, i would gladly listen to any topic you are interested in talking about 🤍 hope you’re having a restful evening ✨

I try identifying plants where I live but I'm so forgetful that it's borderline pointless lol I have a hard time remembering even if I research them

Crunchy: Made sure you get a taste of what my mood has been today which is...obviously like.. Me: Cute? 😂 Your smiley tone is so contagious, Crunch-love. I was smiling the whole time while listening 🤭 I was missing my mama today and this Crunch time reminded me of times I'd help her in her garden or be her taste tester when cooking meals for people. She got me into cooking and gardening, but I don't think I got her green thumb. 😓 My last plant attempts made me sad so I'm sticking to volunteering to local tree planting activities for now. Hahaha! Hmm, random cooking Althea fun fact (that I just realized 😆) For some reason, I'm only comfy cooking with plants, mushrooms and tofu 🤔 I feel like meats are unpredictable so I usually go for vegetarian versions of recipes lol I really want to get into baking but I don't have a space for an oven 🥲 (yet) For now, I'll just enjoy baking videos and watching you guys show off your beautiful, beautiful breads. 🥰 Thank you for this cute crumchtime~ I hope your honey and mead turns out amazing ☺️💕 Hope the workout was great, and may you have peaceful eeps. Sending cheek kisses and cuddles ᵃⁿᵈ ᵍʳᶦⁿᵈᶦⁿᵍ in the mind space~ 🤗

I’m working from home today, have my desk right next to the balcony door, it’s a warm and sunny day, and all I’m thinking about is that I should clean the balcony some more and start a little herb garden there. also, the tulips I planted in pots in November are slowly starting to bloom 🌷 they’re gonna be red and light purple (hopefully xD)

Organ intro!!! *little happy dance* If I’m not mistaken, what you’re holding is Katsikopódaro, which, from what I found out, is called either ground elder or, as you called it, bishop’s weed. If you let them grow too much, they’ll bloom with little white flowers. I don’t think I’ve ever tried them, and every time I go to gather horta, I always pass them by… Hmmm. Since we’re on the topic of wild greens—on the weekend when it was raining, I called a friend (he’s vegan and will never say no to driving me around for these kinds of adventures), grabbed the little monsters, and we went to gather horta (wild greens). A little yap about our bountiful adventure? Yes? Yes. Okay, so we gathered Zochós(Common sow thistle), Lapatha—I think the English name is sorrel? Or dock? I’m not entirely sure—Kafkalides (Mediterranean Hartwort—I believe it’s in the bishop’s elder category?), Paparounes (Corn Poppy—just the leaves before the flower grows; we didn’t find many), Tsouknides (Stinging Nettle—I don’t really like them, but I gather them for my parents), Rapanídes (Wild Radish Greens), Wild Cabbage, and we even found some Wild Asparagus! (I was quite happy about this.) I find them vastly tastier than the store-bought ones. (I admit, we may have overdone it, but I shared some with my friend, my parents, and a neighbor.) Now, how do we cook them? Most of them are either boiled (horta style), then paired with lemon and olive oil, or used in pies (hortopita). Not all of them work in raw salads—mostly Sonchus and Wild Radish Greens. Tired, sluggish Crunchy mood is a cute mood, not gonna lie, but I’m sorry you burned your lunch. Distracting you? I would NEver~ OOOHHH they’re Mediterranean?! Then maybe they are Katsikopódaro! I’ll have to show the picture to my mother—she’ll know best. Now I’m very curious. Edit: About 40mins later and many videos (yes, I did get fixated on it...) and I can confirm that, yes, ground elder/bishop's weed and Katsikopódaro are one and the same. How exciting!!! Sigh. I really want to try making dandelion honey. I said I would last summer, but I didn’t. *hides in shame* I will do it this summer!!! The beach we go to is full of them. Funny thing about the mead—my For You page started pushing mead content at me a few days ago, probably because I was looking up whether I could ferment unripe apricots. We have an apricot tree in one of our flowerbeds downstairs—I planted it with my father when I was little. My grandmother taught me how to make classic liqueurs from cherries, walnuts, mint etc, but I wanted to try something new, so in the end, since YT insisted, I fell down the mead rabbit hole. It looks hard… You are a brave soul if you try making mead, Crunch. I like cooking, mostly pies and pasta, but I LOVE baking. Cookies, cakes—you name it. But my big love is bread—all kinds! Sweet, savory, just give me a recipe and tell me to try a new bread, and I’ll be in heaven. I make mean burger buns and brioche bread. I kinda got sourdough down, but then my niece murdered my starter, and I kinda gave up on it. But now, I’m working on the “Crunchy” bread 🤭. I was successful with the unbleached flour, but I found a new flour—it’s kinda yellowish and sold as "traditional bread flour." It’s one of the tastiest flours I’ve ever tried. I haven’t figured out the exact number of folds it needs yet, but I will!!! Okay, I yapped a lot, but I believe that surprises no one by now… As for your yaps—please, do yap at us! Be it gardening, music, worries—all your yaps are welcome and loved. Your brain is a very sweet and interesting place to be. 🥰 And in general, I love listening to people talk. What can I say? Before I shut up—what a good, long stretch that was! I hope your morning greets you well and your day unfolds gently, sweet Crunch. Sending you warm hugs and soft kisses. Kalimera~ 🤍🌺

Listened to this when I couldn’t sleep last night, it was very comforting 😌 I prefer baking to cooking as it’s easier for me with exact measurements and clear instructions. I’m lucky to have a partner that is an excellent cook who can just throw things together and make them taste amazing, I’m lost without a recipe 😅 I’m trying to learn more about gardening as I really love plants although I don’t have the ability to do lots of physical labour. I’m enjoying taking care of some pot plants and succulents. I hope to eventually get some flowerbeds planted in the backyard with lots of native plants. Hearing you talk about your day and hobbies is really motivating, I’d like to cut down on my own screen time and return to more tactile hobbies. Loved hearing the organ, I really need to get my violin serviced and pick her up again! Even just playing silly fun tunes gives me so much joy 🥰 Thank you for sharing your day and your joy with us Crunch 💛
