Short ramble tonight!

Had a really good day, and I don’t think i could hide my feeling-good-ness. (Not that I think that I should)

So here’s me giggly and happy before falling asleep a liiittle bit earlier than yesterday.

Looking forward to reading chaotic comments. Hugs 🌱

The fact that this got posted while I’m also cosily bundled in my bed made this feel so so nice and like you’re just laying by my side filling me in on your day and being so silly and adorable. Crunchy I’m ready for all the cuddles and scritches.

Kaya

Lately YOU’RE the specific person who brings me so much joy and helps my days feel bearable Crunch. Your audios and one or two other creators from reddit have been such an immense help to me in the last month or so.

Ange

Crunchy, this made me smile so much! The ease and happiness in your voice, it’s infectious. I appreciate that you’re embracing the comment chaos. To that end your question made me giggle because Crunchy: let’s not make this too deep Also Crunchy: tell me about the person or thing or song or soul that makes your heart cry out with joy 🍉 (Jokes aside, for me it’s my long distance bff, I haven’t seen her in years but when we are together everything is just so easily in synch. Also a friend I made through this community is a light in my life ✨)

You sound *extremely* happy! I can feel how cosy and comforting and just how downright awesome you're feeling here. It's making me smile so big in return just feeling how good you are feeling here. Cause and effect, and I'm loving every second of it 💙 AYO YOU CAN SMELL YOUR HAIR! I bet it smells amazing. And I can confirm that I at least like to place some hair between my nose and my lip. It's incredibly satisfying and ticklish and silly, and sometimes I like to impersonate dr. eggman while doing so, because I can and it's fun~ A really good attachment and something that makes me feel good, ah that's a good question! It's actually an idea or one can consider it an imaginative scenario, where I'm sitting under a willow tree and this tree is on top of a hill looking over a city or an ocean or some scenic background. The time of day depends on my mood, sometimes I like to imagine a bright spring day, other times a starry night. Sometimes the people I really care about, both from my online and offline life, are there with me, maybe us together are having a picnic or just laying on the grass or doing anything really. Other times I'm alone and basking in the solitude. The main part of it all is that willow tree on a hill. I don't know why, but imagining that place always calms me down and brings me peace and joy. Thank you so much for this little update! Hearing your happiness has rubbed off on me, and now I can feel that happiness on my skin. Sleep tight, and I hope you have wonderful dreams tonight. Stay safe meow meow 💙

I have definitely used my hair to make a braided viking mustache and beard many times throughout my life (and am not from denmark) I would normally be here for the joyful talk, rain or shine, but … I’m not doing well. 2 years of profound stress, anxiety, loneliness, grief are catching up to me and triggering my chronic illnesses. I’m not doing well and I feel really numb and worthless. Ok, here is what comes to me for the joy that makes me feel like myself. My sweet little rescue dog is severely anxious but has been coming out of her shell over the past couple years. She’s recently learned to sunbathe and started to ask for belly rubs. :’))))))))))) and the love I feel for her is held so tightly in my heart that it will always defy the depression dementors. I wish I could cry properly for catharsis, but writing this has actually finally helped me feel my feelings and I think I might actually be able to cry a bit lol. If only that would magically improve my situation. Sorry to those who read this total downer :/

What a sweet mini-ramble. Your cosy happiness is contagious. 💓 You have stumbled upon a universal truth -- ALL cold beverages taste better when consumed from a Mason jar. I can't explain why, but it's true. One of the mysteries of the universe. 😊 Can confirm, American girls make silly hair mustaches under their noses, too. What brings me joy? Burying my face in my cat's fur when she jumps in my bed in the mornings to wake me up. She's so soft, like a baby bunny, and she has a warm comforting smell that only cats have. If you know, you know. Getting up early on a chilly Saturday morning and building a little campfire outside. Sitting next to it listening to it crackle while the birds wake up for the day and start singing their happy songs. The first sip of coffee for the day. Checking the mail and getting a drawing from my niece that lives far away with her silly 4 year old signature. The fact that she got her mom to help write that she loves and misses me. 💓💓💓 Driving at night by myself with the window down, music up loud, singing as hard as I can. Getting a long tight hug from my aunt. I love her beyond reason. Hugging her is the closest thing I have to a Mom hug now. Taking a long hot bath, then climbing into a bed with freshly washed sheets. Buying a new book and sticking my nose in it for a long sniff. A new, fresh, blank journal and a fancy new pen. 😉 You guys. You guys here bring me joy. 💜 I could keep going but I'm getting too soft. That's enough for now. Goodnight, Crunch and chat.

This was a lovely ramble to listen to. Somehow recently these mini conversations have become my favorite of all the content you make. I love hearing the smile in your voice and I'm so happy that today was an authentically good day for you. Everyone deserves those days that are just... happy. Oh, and mason jars make the best glasses - especially when paired with a metal straw. I truly love that you're giving us topics to chat about in the comment section. In so many ways it feels reassuring to know that the community that we have missed is still here - both strong and silly. Of course today's topic choice was amazingly chaotic. A person or pet or being in your life or song or place or feeling or scent or entity or fictional person or not a person at all that brings you joy. *grin* That's not too broad a topic... and it's one I'll come back and answer tomorrow after I've slept. Happy "probably not your birthday but fuck it I've done this 3 times now and I'm not quitting." 🎈✨🎉

cosmicdreams

maybe i’m just a troll but i think it would’ve been fucking hilarious if you posted an audio with just locker room ambience for like 12 minutes, no context, and then at the VERY end been like “sorry i fucked up the audio so it’s been delayed, but here you can have locker room vibes for now” putting water in mason jars is cute but i’m gonna stick with my 40 oz hydroflask. i only drink cold water so having that insulation helps, and i’m just lazy and don’t feel like refilling my water that often lol. but i love that it makes you happy, and i’m glad to hear you had a good day! wishing for many more good days for you ✨ yep yep it’s v fun to put your hair between your nose and your lips when it’s freshly washed :) ah, i know you said you wanted it to not be too deep and serious, so i’ll spare details here. there are many people in my life that fill me with joy, many of them are right here in this comment section. the first person that came to mind though is someone in my life that fills me with joy but also makes my heart ache. not their fault, it’s because of life being fucked up and incredibly unfair. she’s my best friend that i met online and such a beautiful soul. she wears her heart on her sleeve and leads with empathy and loves and loves and loves despite the world being so unkind to her. she’s been there for me through the good moments, the bad moments, and the many many lonely moments this year being back on campus but struggling to make friends. she opened my heart up again, showed me that it’s ok to be vulnerable, it’s ok to risk getting hurt if it means you get to love. i find that those two emotions coexist when i think of her- love and pain, and the pain is because i love her so much and hate her circumstances. she’s the person i feel closest to and yet we live on different sides of the world. online friendships are so interesting, but i’m immensely grateful to have met her and to call her my friend. thank you for this cute little ramble Cromptch :) your joy is contagious and i’m sending you and everyone here cosy vibes 🤍✨

ash

cromptch! i know you told us not to get too deep, but this question really made me think! the first thing that comes to mind is being outdoors. i’d always been a person who can commonly be found outside, in nature. when i’m out and about, it reminds me of how small i am compared to the vastness of everything that exists around me, and it grounds me. it’s difficult to fully articulate why i feel this way, but this spark to explore and understand the world around me on a deeper level also manifests in my love for outdoor sports; skiing in particular. during my gap year of my bachelor’s, i managed to get certification as a ski / mountain guide in the alps - that was also a life-changing experience. when i’m on that slope, nothing else matters. the world falls away when i focus on the clean air, the beautiful views, and the people with me. i’m completely in the moment. i get to choose how fast i want to go, and knowing that i’m going extremely fast but am in full control makes me feel truly free. it’s what i live for. skiing will always be my closest friend, and the best form of therapy. it’s not quite the season for it now, but i can’t wait to get back into it and go shred some powder. thank you for the thought-provoking question. i’m meeting a friend for coffee later and i’ll be sure to pass on the question to them, too. it’s nice to know you’ve had a good day, and that things are picking up on your end. take care, see you around :)

ash

on a side note crunchy, any way you can book a flight to east-asia asap? i was listening to the existentialism ramble from a while back earlier today, and my mother thought i was on the phone and you were on speaker, and she told me to "ask my friend to come over and bring home apples before they go bad." (she bought too many apples because they were on sale and now our fridge has too many apples PLEASE) and i don't know bout you but if there's one thing i've learned from my limited years of existence, it's to never say no to asian mothers.

Invisible Skye

Ok. Not waiting until tomorrow after all. I apologize because I'm going to take this a teensy bit deeper because the context matters - to me at least. I'm a photographer. I've been a professional photographer for years. I specialized in senior portraits (17-18 year olds graduating high school) for 7 years. I loved taking pictures of the seniors - but I hated working with their parents. Photography had gone from being something I loved to something I dreaded. When COVID happened I took it as an opportunity and closed my business - and I told myself that I didn't love photography like I thought I did. I didn't pick up my camera from January 2020 until January of 2022. I know I mentioned it in the chat on stream after I went out for the first time in 2 years - because I was so proud to have done something that scared me. At the time, I didn't even realize how important that thing was - because I found a piece of me that I thought I had lost forever. When I started taking pictures originally it was nature photography that I was drawn to. This year, I went back to that. I primarily capture sunrises and sunsets now - and it's brought joy back into my life. I love being outside and capturing what I'm seeing... not just the visual but the emotional quality. I love capturing light. I love getting up while it's still dark outside and driving to sit on top of a mountain in the cold on the off chance that the sun will rise and light up the sky in just the right way. I love sitting in front of my camera, with headphones in my ears, dancing while I take shot after shot. I love running from waves while laughing and jumping over rocks because I turned my back to the water trying to get the perfect shot. I love sitting at my computer and playing with the light and the color and the details - trying to make a shot FEEL like it felt when I was there. Photography brings me a deep sense of joy - it's a piece of my soul and I'm so grateful to have recovered it.

Hi Crunchy! Hi Chat! 😊 So glad you had a good day. You sound so sweet and cuddly. Thank you so much for this surprise ramble! The fact that you are drinking out of a Mason jar makes my southern heart swell. It's common where I'm from. I have a whole cabinet full of them. They are the superior drinking vessel. It's scientific. I have ridiculously long hair and smelling it is one of my favorite things to do. Things that bring me joy: This will sound weird but, venting my melancholic emotions by watching sad movies or reading a sad book. Simple human decency. It's really not hard to be kind or at the very least mindful of your words and actions. The smell of apples. It reminds me of my pawpaw's orchid. Frogs. Seriously, need I saw more? Music. I love listening to music, making playlists, and discovering new music. Almost everyone and everything is associated to songs to me. Even audios and certain VAs.

cherucaustic

This ramble was such a lovely surprise ☺️ Drinking out of my mason jar is like my favorite thing. Not typically water but any other drink I make it’s just better somehow. My answer to your question is gonna be all over the place so I’m sorry but you did ask 😉 I try very hard to find joy in the little things because I know how difficult it is for my brain to see the big picture. When I chop it all up into tiny pieces I can make sense of it and realize the happy times outweigh the bad in terms of quality, even if not in frequency. When I think of joy I think of my partner of 5 years every adventure that we’ve shared, the life that we’ve built. It’s not easy and never will be but I get to wake up every day next to the person I love, my best friend. What greater joy is there? The next one might seem silly and covid has probably taken it away forever but it’s the most joy I’ve ever felt so I’ll share it anyway. I love love love live music. Going to concerts to see my favorite bands being in the crowd with hundreds of people packed like sardines where you can feel the vibrations in the floorboards and you have no choice but to move when everyone else does. But there’s this moment every time where everyone in the room will sing, beautifully or out of key it doesn’t matter because every person knows every single word. Sometimes the band will stop playing and the crowd keeps it going anyway. And just… that feeling? Like you’re not even yourself anymore but you belong? In that moment with all those people you’ll never see again. I’ve never felt more happy or alive. And lastly, lately everyone here. This community has given me SO much joy during a dark period in my life where I didn’t have much of it, where I didn’t have any if I’m honest. Helped me realize that I still have things to say that people might want to hear. That I’m not too old or too shy to make new friends. That I can be a part of something if I want to be. Thank you again Crunch for this ramble (with a new recording location again 🙌🏽) and for opening up the floor for us all to share. And to anyone that took the time to read the nonsense I wrote above thank you too. Sleep tight everybody 💗

Natascha

Naww we did that hair thing too, so it looked like a moustache

CarelessWhisper

Congratulations on 500 patreons, Crunchy! 🥳🎊🎉

Vergil

Hi everyone. Hope you're doing swell. 🍰 Indeed, you sound very happy and it's so great to hear...!! There's a certain inexplicable magic that occurs when things are consumed from Mason jars I tell you, very undervalued in its capabilities. And yes, the moustache thing is still a thing; it's even better when you can use it to prove your hair has grown over a certain amount of time... 😂 The sole things I have an utmost connection to is a two way tie, mainly: writing poetry - the burst of energy that comes to you through the smallest instance and brings a familial tingle to your hands in the form of inspiration never fails to surprise or intrigue me, and for the bigger elements where the act of placing ink on paper is synonymous with self discovery and learning; and reading - my bookshelf is my lifeline in the house, and though I definitely don't read the books appropriate for my age, an extra trip to the phantasmagorical never hurt anyone.. I hope everyone is having a happy and safe timezone. 🌹🌹

Love hearing you happy and glad to know you've had a nice day, Crunch ✨ At home I drink water from a particular glass. Dk if they do it outside of Russia, but here McDonald’s makes this limited time offer – well, used to – when you buy a combo-set and they sell you a glass for 1₽. I’ve got one in autumn, it’s a turquois-ish glass and I use it for either water or juice. I always have it on my desk, even rn there’s the glass and a coffee mug in front of me Hair thing – we also do it here. I absolutely love putting perfume on my hair – it stays there longer than on the skin, sometimes even till the next day. My hair’s got so long over the last months – I haven’t had it that long since… primary school maybe??? It reaches the middle of my back now and it takes some effort to untangle it or take out of my way, especially on windy days. Hmm, that’s not an easy question. My dog. She’s precious, she hates being alone and uses every opportunity there’s to get cuddles. Sometimes she puts her nose in the crook of my neck and her upper body on my chest and falls asleep like that. It’s just… the sweetest. Pure love. Also – walks. I’ve been in that state of mind which made me stay at home all the time, only leaving it once a week. But since the weather is getting warmer and I’m feeling better, I’ve started going outside more often. This week we had beautiful weather – sunny, windy and actually warm. I re-discovered my love to walks. Feeling of the sun on the skin, music playing in headphones, watching people and nature living their lives, this slight smell of spring – tell me I’m not the only one who can smell seasons, like the air just changes and it’s more spring-y/winter-y/etc. – all of that makes me feel right. Brings calm. I’ve recently started a new job and now I work with children. And there’s this one girl who makes my day lighten up every time we meet. She’s passionate about our classes and she shares a lot about her personal life and asks tons of questions. On Thursday she showed me the paper roses she crafted for me as a gift 🥺 That was SO sweet, I almost cried. Yes, adding flowers to the list. I like observing beautiful things. And flowers are beautiful, they often put me into deep thinking about beauty and fragility and meaning of things. But over all they just make everything seem better. Calm mornings, when you can take everything slow – slowly eat breakfast and look out the window while listening to something in your headphones. This community. The audios, atmosphere, people. It means a lot ❤

Ahh yes the ponytail moustache... hehe A specific person that gives me joy? Definitely my partner. We've been together for a long time, and while it hasn't always been easy we've grown together a lot as people and I don't think I could imagine being with anyone else. Thinking of happy memories, September by Earth, Wind, Fire is the song I associate most with my partner. Not for anything significant, literally heard it along with a dumb meme we laughed at and it just stuck. It's become our rickroll song. One time I had an MRI scan (you have to keep still for about 10-15mins and you get headphones to listen to music) and the fucker snuck it on to my playlist. Had to apologise to my friend/the tech cos I was holding in a laugh and was pretty sure I moved during the scan. There's also other little things, mostly songs/music, that remind me of a certain happy feelings of a place or person whenever they come up. My sister and I are close, and I think of her whenever I hear Backstreet Boys. We listened to them a lot growing up (along with other cheesy 90s/00s pop) so I always think of her. She also took me to one of their concerts, and it was the first one I ever went to! Also, when I hear Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional I remember that one time a date took her to one of their gigs and I was annoyed because she didn't even like them and I wanted to go lol. Tiger Balm. It's a minty ointment and reminds me of my parents. Not in a bad way though! It's a comforting nostalgic smell that makes me think of them because they use it a lot. Hwi Hwi by Laboum I associate with my first trip to New York lol. I was listening to it on single repeat for most of the trip and they actually charted at #1 for one of the weeks. I remember watching their performance in my hotel room the week they got #1 and the girls cried on stage. Also Crunchy! There's two piano songs you had on one of your audios that I found and saved to one of my regular playlists, so I think of you too whenever they come up, fuzzy feelings and all ☺️ This comment/post was a bit everywhere, but anyway I hope you had a good rest, sounds like you had a good night (especially if you were up at 3-4am)!! ❤️

Acedia

I just had the best weekend I've had in a really long time, because my partner was able to finally visit and help me move into my new apartment. Just being able to enjoy all of that and reconnect was amazing. But what I wanna talk about is the fact that I really love the smell of sandalwood oil. Lol I bought a tiny bottle of essential oil one time and liked the smell of it, and then managed to spill the whole darn thing on my bookshelf. So my childhood room reeked of sandalwood. But I did love the smell and started associating that with coming home and relaxing and being in control of my own little chaotic space. If I could find which box I packed it in, I'd be burning some now.

what a cosy rumble~ i can hear how happy and satisfied you are and that’s so cute!! while i was thinking about your question i found out how many people and things are important to me. i have a friend, the closest one i think, and we did a great job creating our relationship. i am not quite sure if there are people who know me like she does. we love each other, we care for each other and respect each other. she makes me happy, she helps me with everything and makes me feel loved. sometimes we are joking about becoming romantic partners, because we get along so well. i love my dog! she is the little sunshine. she gives me the purest joy love! i just came home and she greats me with all of her little noises and that’s insane how that tiny being has so many emotions. i love playing rugby. it became such a great part of my life. i love the adrenaline and the feeling of my body becoming stronger and faster every time i play. and i love this feeling of winning. i love competitiveness, never thought i am a competitive person before i started playing😅 i work as a tutor with children (10-17 years old) and i l enjoy it so so much! like when a student calls you the best teacher and shows her drawing of you…my heart melts. of course that kind of job requires a lot of emotional work and you get tired pretty quickly, but i still love it. also! my lord, there are so many things i love… i live history of arts. i study at university of architecture and we have like five kinds of history classes here, but history of arts is my favorite. i enjoyed writing an essay a lot and even thought about changing my major, but i’m still at my architecture course. and for the hair mustache. girls from my class here in Russia did it, but my hair was never long enough to do it.. thank you for your rumble! take care crunchy and everyone 🤍🐾

cosymary5

Hi Crunchy, I’m sorry to hear about losing the audio, but it’s good that you’re not beating yourself up about it. These things happen. Yes to the mason jar water. I have 2, on next to my bed and one on my work desk and they have lids and straws and the water just hits different if you drink it out of them. You sound so happy and cuddly in this ramble and it was so nice to hear and with the scritches all of it just gave me hardcore stream vibes. As for the conversation prompt you gave us, my first thought was my best friend. I’ve known her for over 10 years now and we even lived together during a semester abroad in Spain and she brings so much joy in my life. I saw her yesterday to celebrate another friend’s birthday and she randomly hugged me a few times and she’s not the most affectionate person and it just made my night. Ahh I love her so much! I’m posting my comment after I’ve read a bunch of other comments already and I must say how much I love this community we’ve built together. I feel like my life is so enriched and so much better with you guys in it ❤️

Ayesha

AWH it’s so lovely to hear someone having a lovely day when mine has been relatively shitty. The sweet contentment is contagious<3 Ah my best friend though. I didn’t know you could be in love with someone in a non romantic way but I am so in love with my best friend. He makes me feel human and gives me space to be flawed and selfish and vulnerable while also nurturing the best parts of me and I feel so complete when we’re together. I’ve never been super spiritual but the idea of us being soulmates just feels right. Hope everyone has a soft and sweet night ♥️

Rachel

You’re so adorable. I’m glad you had this good day earlier this year.
