I think for me the whole AI debate comes down to human connection. The time and effort put into the work is important and admirable, yes, but even more important in my opinion is that element of connection. I'm thinking more about the written word in this case since that's more my wheelhouse, but there's something about reading a poem or a book or a script and knowing that it came from someone's imagination and experiences and emotions. Reading along and thinking, "Me too!" or laughing because it's your same sense of humor or crying because you know that hurt. There's something very nourishing to the soul about that kind of connection. Feeling less alone in the world. Whereas AI spits out patterns and... where's the connection or kinship in that? The end product may be equal, so to speak, but it feels... sad. Empty. I think AI can be very useful in some circumstances, but I don't think it should have a prominent place in the creative arts. Also, it never occurred to me until this very moment that animals understand different languages but I guess they do. 😂

Crunchy! Cute kitty! GHOSTIES!! Ai is absolutely terrifying. I remember having these kinds of conversations for years, almost a decade even, on the consequences of improving AI for the purpose of exploiting and eliminating the hard work artists have put themselves through. It takes away the essence of what makes that art beautiful and, in a sense, removes all emotion from a piece. What makes us human is the freedom of expression and experimenting with what's around us to communicate and convey these emotions to connect with people who can resonate with that piece. The development of AI, while impressive, is denying that ability of expression and communication to continue. I can see AI being used in some sectors, but in areas where the creative human emotion and connection are crucial, it doesn't belong there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Crunchy! And good luck with that exclusive 💙 speaking of your work, I was thinking not too long ago how impressive you've been able to create these wonderful works of art with your voice, especially the recent ones, and it's with your input and your creative mind that's able to make it all possible and bring a bunch of like-minded and incredible people together. So I thank you for that~

Animals do understand different languages! A good example are my mom's dogs, they understand certain words/commands in English but mostly know words/commands in Spanish. A good example is they have no idea what "bread" is but will go absolutely bonkers and run to the kitchen if you say the word "pan". It's really cool

Oh to be a little cat on your lap 🥺 AI creeps me tf out. It's blatant stealing and a sad excuse for laziness. There is no hardwork in it and I sincerely hope it won't prosper in a way that people would lose their jobs because of it. And tbh, I find it weird that people use it for their own entertainment (like an AI Pedro Pascal voice with nsfw lines i swear i love him but i wish i could bleach that out of my head it's so weird). What's sad about it also is that it seems like it takes away the love for the craft. Because content creators for whatever media it may be: digital art, photos, audio, etc., they do things because they have a connection with the art. But with AI, I don't think there can be love if you never really worked hard on it. Creating something just because you can sounds like an intro for a dystopian plot. Crunchy, if you liked recording this kind of audio, more please! It's fun to hear about your thoughts on stuff 😗✌️

It makes perfect sense but for some reason I just never thought about it before! There's this YouTube channel called Billi Speaks where this lady has taught her cat to communicate (in English) using speech buttons, and the depth of this kitty's comprehension and ability to use the buttons is AH-mazing. (Although she is FREQUENTLY mad. 😂) Highly recommend if you haven't seen it before.

If the creator was using AI on their own content and I couldn't tell the difference when they recorded their own voice (or wrote, draw, etc.) or when they were using the AI then I would have no problem with it. They worked a lot to have enough for an AI to act just like them? That would be amazing. It's only bad when it's stealing other people's work and I hope laws are made to stop it from happening or slow it down at least because that does suck.

You mentioned the chess grind which made me wonder if you've been following the Championship match? I would be really interested to hear your thoughts if you have! This made me think of a fascinating (terrifying?) video Tom Scott created on ChatGPT a couple of months ago which asked a question along the lines of "what if ChatGPT is the AI equivalent of Napster?", something I hadn't considered and found quite chilling. I'm honestly quite technologically ignorant and inept so it blows my mind to think of what the future AI could look like. Perhaps I'm still not over Legion from Mass Effect but when thinking about AI I often wonder will we reach a point where they're alive? I'm a soft touch that will pack bond with a teaspoon if it looks a bit sad so I have personal fears over ethics and attachment. I totally was thinking about your mouth hole. There is an enjoyment for me in knowing that you are a real human (🤨) creating what you do because you want to, putting so much effort into what we receive, sharing yourself with us. I don't believe an AI generated Crunch would hit the same vibe 😊

Love, no ia could ever replace you, first that you echo real emotions of a biological being, with real life learnings, lapidated in pains and dreams of a real human being... This is what makes each one of us unique and special, this is what only we have, the assimilation of the human realm and the full expression of it, everything that you can express here, even if it is a channeling of crunchy, is based on who you are before anything else, because only you being you, your feelings and your way of seeing things structure what crunchy is, being the base, so that from there you create everything you have created. While the ia does not have the ability to feel, but rather to copy patterns, which in my opinion does not even come close to the expression of a human, who echoed in his work part of himself, his qualities, his limitations... I think that the only thing that really worries me is knowing that you are so perfect, and all I can have is the imagination that you are here with me. A ia will never convey what echoes in your heart, nor the breeze of your smile, nor what you feel when you record each audio. And one more thing, I think that very soon technology will supply a lot of what we think we need, and after that what will be left of us, you know? I try to cultivate who I really am, as a human being who has walked a life path, so that when this moment comes I don't lose myself. That's how I see things, love, I hope I was able to make myself understood,>.<. Take care, I love you ♡♡♡

This AI concept is really concerning. I appreciate the potential it has to help us in a lot of ways and to make life easier in some ways. At the same time, I will always want and prefer the human touch. I want the human spirit and imagination and nuance that can only come from a real person. I'm a paying subscriber for content creators because I enjoy their work. And in the case of voice actors, their voice and their talent. Even if their voice is reproduced by a synthesizer, I don't want that. I want to hear the actual person. That won't change for me. I want my money to go to a real person who is using their unique talent to give something back to the world. This is a subject I could write endlessly on and my personal feelings on the matter. TL:DR I want to hear Crunchy's (unsimulated) voice performing his original content. That's what I'm here for. 💯❤️

I have yet to hear a synthesized voice that's not immediately clear that it's computer generated. There too many nuanced little bits of inflection and tone in speech that's very hard to replicate reliably. We have had automated textile machines for hundreds of years, and yet no one can figure out how to mass produce crochet because the patterns are just too intricate. There could definitely be a market for an AI audioporn 'character' at some point in the future, but probably more for the novelty than anything. Even during the hight of their popularity, the vocaloid software never replaced real singers and musicians. The 'tik tok voice', while widely used, is a glorified a text to speech program. It's a great accessibility feature, but not a realistic voiceover. But that's just the voice side. I know nothing about AI produced scripts and that would be harder to sus out as a layperson. Especially if a real person just read it and tweaked it as they went. But it'd still take effort to edit it into sounding more natural, to still just get a worse quality script in general. And that's the essay portion of my comment done. Lol I did just assume you were gonna release the polled exclusive Saturday, so getting this audio plus the exclusive on the way felt like a nice bonus treat.

Kitty purrs and phone chat? Yes please and thank you. ❤️ As for AI, I don't think it has a place in the creative community. There's a beautiful vulnerability that goes into creating and I don't believe AI creations can compare. I would enjoy a script less or a voice performance less if I found out it was AI generated. I want real human emotions.
