We’re back with this month’s Patreon-exclusive bonus episode, and if any of you are starting to get that Halloween itch, this one will be right up your alley. It’s time for our 2024 Halloween Junk Food Preview Show!

We do one of these every year, because nothing predicts the quality of an upcoming Halloween season quite like its exclusive crop of candy and snacks. It’s a little on the early side to say for sure, but judging by what we’ve seen so far, it looks like we’re in for a good one!

We’ll be looking at a bunch of upcoming spooky treats during this episode, including:

I'm excited for the Ghost Toast Kit Kats. Hopefully they're able to pull off the taste of cinnamon Toast without it being weird. And oh my God, the monster pets??? Adorable!

I bet the big secret promo is that Burger King is going to re-release the Aladdin Halloween buckets.

That promo is either some Halloween Whopper, or McDonald’s is going to make old school Boo Buckets and not just some cruddy 3D printed ones. (Of course… I could be wrong… it could be Ghostbusters school supplies…)

Nobody's placing bets on Hardee's bringing back the Slimer sundae? I'd guessed BK is bringing back the Universal Monsters action figures / toys; but Ghost Whopper makes the most sense. If that's the case, I hope they go so hard with that. Ghost Whopper with Ghost (Pepper?) fries, Ghost Pepper dipping sauce, and ... uh ... Voo Dew?

Junk food updates for Patronies: Purple-colored, 'berry' flavored Zero Sugar Mountain Dew available at Circle Ks.  The new "Star Wars" "Light Side / Dark Side" Oreos are available, and you can get them in the classic family size package or a bunch of 2-cookie blind bag snack packs, and have the cookies determine your 'side' of the Force. The filling comes in red or blue, and a matching cookie with good guy or bad guy 'sculpted' on one side. Package art is apparently by Greg Hildebrandt, "Iconic Star Wars poster artist since 1977."  The 4th of July Mtn. Dew flavors (3) are out, as are patriotic Cheerios and Captain Crunch and Rice Krispies... (That's 3 separate cereals; can you imagine? ^_^ )

In two weeks Im going on summer vacation to Canada. I told my wife we needed to bring an empty suitcase to fill with Canada exclusive cereals and snacks. Wednesday is on the top of my list. Love the Kit Kat and Reeses flavors and am super pumped about the monster cereals. Shaping up to be a great junk food season. My guess is the secret promo is Burger King doing more halloween themed products. Great episode fellas!

Random question, but is anyone having trouble getting episodes to download on Apple Podcasts? At the beginning of the month I download all episodes that have been put out in that month since the beginning of the show for easy re-listening. But, for the past 2 months I download everything and when I reopen the app they are gone.

It's funny that I'm seeing so many Americans on socials with the Wednesday cereal, but I haven't seen a single box here in Canada! It must've only been available west of Ontario (which is pretty typical, actually). I'll hopefully score a box eventually!

I'm shocked the guys think VooDew always tastes the same?! No way man! I've loved every flavor, though the first remains my favorite! VooDew is always one of the things I'm most excited for each year! I'll be sad when it ends, which I heard might be next year... But the rumor is it won't be gone forever and that another Halloween themed flavor will take its place. Who knows. I'll just keep wishing for more throwback releases and would it kill Pepsi to make Pitch Black permanent?!
