Blade Runner - Caravan of Garbage

It's impossible to list all the visual design elements, tropes and world building influence that Blade Runner had on popular culture upon its initial release in 1982. Despite bombing in a most spectacular fashion, Ridley Scott managed to literally redefine the future of sci fi despite the atrocious Harrison Ford/Rick Deckard voice over. Here we look at the definitive version from 2007 that restores original scenes, removes others, including said voice over, and changes the ending in a manner that completely alters the meaning of the entire film. Thanks for watching our Caravan Of Garbage review and be sure to return next week for the follow up! It's not Blade Runner 2049. Set in 2019. “Earth sucks now”. They called it, alright.

The love scene between Deckard and Rachael is upsetting. It’s coercive, but Vangelis's sweet, soft saxophone signals romance and consent, and by the end of the film they're lovers on the run. I just can’t reconcile that framing with the clear distress Rachael shows in the scene. I suppose it wasn’t as objectionable in 1982 as it is today, but that’s also a bummer
