introducing album 2: EVERYBODY NEEDS A HERO (Patreon)

SDC how the hell are you all! it's a big day - I announced my second album 'Everybody Needs A Hero' AND I GOT APPROVED FOR MY U.S. VISA! (thank goodness lol)

please pre-order a physical copy (and/or some merch) on >>> my new shiny merch store <<< ! *for any of you in the States please note that for the first time we have set up a US merch store so you can save on shipping :) that link should take you to the store that's best for where you are (if not - try this link instead and just click on US store to get there).

also a new song landed today - THE HIT came out! you can listen to that here

I wanted to show y'all a few pics from the day we shot the album cover :) I'm so incredibly proud of this photo & I am fully in love with the team of amazing people behind it!

we wanted to play on the idea of a superhero whilst incorporating the theme of girlhood; being a woman that contains multitudes, wanting to save the day and help everyone but yourself (*not exclusively a female affliction - but something I see in a lot of women who try to do it all). this album is all about a relationship, each song documenting how the same relationship feels from a different angle and celebrating the idea that we can feel many different things about the same situation or person.

Greta thought of the phone as a way of representing other people and it perfectly anchored the shot in a bedroom/domestic space, hitting on the blend of surreal & familiar we were aiming for. I was keen to try hit on the hero imagery in my own unique way.. (and avoid anything vaguely Marvel-coded) and I think in the end the make-up, big use of RED and pose here did just that. the shot we landed on feels elevated but also SO. ME - I felt so comfortable on set and I think it really shows in the final cover!

ANYWAY - please pre-order a physical copy of the album from the store (vinyl, CD or cassette) at some point in the next few weeks - it makes a huge difference. over the next few days I'll post a street-team esque list of specific ways you guys can help but for today just enjoy THE HIT, have a little browse of the merch store and feel EXTREMELY PROUD of yourself for helping me to get to this point. this is my second independently-released full length album & the campaign we're planning (including these big tours) is at a level I never dreamed was possible as an independent artist a few years ago. you are all out here chipping in to OG HQ, allowing me to release music on my own terms and making my literal dreams come through ! BIG DEAL !!!!!!! HUUUUUGE DEEEEALLLLLL

love u endlessly,

(and here we frickin go)
