HOWDY.

some days you bash a whole demo out in a day.. and others you loop the chorus, over and over, and chuck stuff at the wall 'til something sticks. today was the latter - but hey, here's a chorus of a yet-to-be-finished new song, as helped along today by my friend Luke who played some guitars and lent me his voice! (Luke's music is wonderful, check it if you get a chance - https://soundcloud.com/user-420495538/afterthought )

the lyric is ambiguous, but a simple concept I guess: I've always thought the point at which we overthink something, we can kill it; a relationship, a friendship, a career move, a skill or passion (often songwriting in my case, lol). it's not necessarily irreversible, but to pull it back to a good place I think we often have to retreat to an earlier headspace where we're approaching ~the thing~ with more of a childlike innocence; back to a time where we didn't question it, we just went with it. be interesting to see if anyone gets where I'm coming from or can otherwise confirm that I am a total crazy.

love! always

Sounds awesome! Can't wait to (hopefully) get to hear the finished thing in the future! (By the way, thank you so much for the lil exam motivation messages you put in some of your replies to me- they really help! Only 4 exams left now!) Xxxx

Sounds great. I've never thought the word "inevitable" could be pronounced melodically. But you did it. Weird thing to say... anyway. The idea behind it is something I really think I understand, though the whole childlike place where nothing was questioned seems so far away. Like it it behind a glass wall, visible, but unreachable. Have a nice day - or night :)

I can confirm that I get where you are coming from, but also that you are crazy;) Sounds cool, a bit full-ish for a voice memo due to the synths, but that's forgiven obviously since its just a memo! What's up with the broken dog?! Also...I have the same in a lot of things, Sometime you'd wish you did not become any wiser, and that things were as they used to be. unspoiled. But...I suppose the very fact you are seeing things in a different light means that you are living and learning.

oh yah man, it's all over the place for now but hopefully can make sense of it down the line! :) that's so true! much more positive way of looking at it, really!

Sozza for the absence of late. Can tell seeing Bon Iver rubbed off on you! This is so dreamy, so transe-like. It's just really full ya know? Really mellow with layers upon layers of pure chill. Bloody love it. Can't wait to hear more of this fleshed out because I can tell i'm going to rinse this on repeat for daaaays! Totally with you on that feeling though. I think that applies to all areas of life though, sometimes we get so caught up in our busy little lives that we don't even take a minute to just soak it all up - just to take a moment to sit down and observe the world around us and take it all in for a change instead of rushing through it 24/7. Having a moment to retreat in your mind to a time without so much overthinking and doubt is something that sounds so simple but in reality is such a hardship to get yourself to do in those times of frustration. Ramble over. Love the dog too. x

1. You're a total crazy 😜 (like everyone else) 2. Yup definitely a thing..there are so many things I could reference but usually I tell students/patients that there's a difference between "analyzing/thinking about something" and "ruminating" ... ruminating to me is when you've gone into that negative spiral of deconstructing something so far it can lose all meaning... so, when people get into this thought pattern, it's usually good to take a step back and reflect/and/or go back to the raw feelings... I don't know if this makes sense lol over patreon 🙃 Very catchy btw ✌️❤️

When I was in this mental space once a very smart person told me to "let my feelings guide me" and that's always stuck with me.

Never apologise dude, hope you good! Aha yes, love me some Bon and it's definitely crept in, haha! :) hope you have a wicked week!
