so alongside finishing off your December song for the last few weeks I've been working on another lil' project - an album featuring different members of my family, called 'For Charlie'. Charlie is my wonderful grandad who has dementia and sadly he's deteriorated a lot since last christmas. I was told recently that although he's now a man of few words he responds well to music, sometimes being silent for the whole day apart from muttering "I like this song". this gave me the idea to record members of the family - uncles, cousins, my brother, ME.. performing songs he knows and loves, some Christmas songs, others not. it's been really rewarding to capture these moments, especially from family members who have never heard their voice played back to them! I can't wait to finish it all off & play it for him next week.

so whilst I beaver away at this for the next day or two (your demo is in the works too, fear not!) here's my uncle John, recorded in his office at work, singing an old folk tune called 'let's get married'. (these lyrics are amazing). he had 5 minutes to spare and played this whole thing in one go, one take.
