'avalon' is the name of the house where I've lived for 2 years, with the best ever people. I'm moving out soon. I'm sentimental.

lyrics:

If home is where the heart is

Then my heart was split in pieces

Didn’t know

Where to go

Then we found our strength in numbers

With a magic in the suburbs

Please say it won’t change

Will you remember me when I’m gone? Avalon

There’s a leak in the ceiling

There’s a warm, familiar feeling?

That you get when you walk in the door

Like you’ve been here before

late night chats

Put the kettle on

an all too inevitable sing song

playing the chords

Like we’ve been here before

I’ve been sitting on the nightbus

I been thinking when I turn my key

it’s not perfect but it’s close enough for me

..a deeper look / exploration of the theme of HOME coming soon. :)

let me know what you think, it was really fun to record this (I used some sounds from around the house to make the drum loop.. there's the sound of my fridge closing and the lil delay sound our front door handle makes when you shut it. :) the kick is me thumping the carpet on the stairs. I'm enjoying making tracks that have a distinct sense of time & place.. I feel this is the closest I've got so far.

you can listen/stream offline here on patreon, or download the attached mp3! I'll soon be hitting you with a big MASTER LINK of all the demos so far, so don't worry if you're losing track..

love you lot!

Here in 2023 still obsessed with this song🥹

Korni Rühlmann

This is soo relaxing and just perfect from the musically side 👌🏼 This beauty carrys (at least for me (: ) the feeling of a looong evening/night that you spent with your friends or fam in the livingroom or kitchen just talking about whatever comes to your mind. I'm going to move to a different city by the end of this month, so I also can relate to it. Exciting and sad at the same time.

I know you asked for constructive criticism, but so far I can’t manage to generate any. Very lovely!

This song is the reason why I joined the secret demo club. I just HAD to listen to the rest of it after I saw your short instagram clip. Someday I'll join the 15 dollar tier, once I get a more steady income ;)

Awesome song. It hits especially hard cause i'm moving out of the place i've lived in for the last 13 years and saying goodbye to my parents possibly forever (they're going somewhere i can't follow). Very few songs/artists make me shed tears and this Is one of those. Thanks for being awesome and relatable. I'd love to learn this song so I have a question, Is your guitar not standard on your ig video. I tried to look at the chords you used but something's off and I can't figure it out. Would love to get chords for this song if that's not too much trouble. Thanks and be safe in your travels :)

this is so painful to listen to (that sounds harsh, i dont mean it like that !!!) because i felt the exact same when i moved out of my family home. it's an odd relationship you have with a house - its literally just a building but its still so much more than that. i think you really got across what you were feeling in this without making it sound cringe or weird that you were singing about some bricks lol. you really are one v smart ginge !!

I know you´ ve asked us for honest feedback with tips for improvement. But on this track... There are no suggestions, there are no comments. this hits hard and in the right place. Home is indeed where the heart is and this special club sure is starting to feel like it! Im glad I joined today, scrolling back seeing all I "lost" rn! just, thank you :)

Currently going through heavy things and potential loss and this song has always been one of my most favourites. Touches & soothes all the right chords ♡
