Can’t watch the vid atm, but have a mental hug lol Hope you’re alright x

Subhraj

Be well! Remember to take care of yourself and mental health woes.

Jack Holtwick

Will watch ASAP. But again wanted to give you a hug from afar to you and your family. I've been through these things, take a moment to be close to those around you and ask for any support from us you want need or anything. Thinking lots about ya! Hang in there!

Becky Drew

Relating to a lot of things and sending you a massive hug because life is shit but things move on. Hopefully see you Sunday for a real life one my friend x

Victoria Hepaguslar

Want to give you a hug and a round of applause all at once, I wish I could vocalise my feelings (or lack thereof) as well as you. Thinking of you, can’t wait to see you in Brighton and give you either the hug or cheers you deserve xxxx

Craig Brooks

Thank you for always being so open with us, can totally relate to some of that. Love you buddy and always here for ya <3

Chloe Allen

hope you’re doing okay !! we all understand how difficult things can be so we’re always here for you ❤️

Ny Vår

Just finished watching this and I wanna give you the biggest hug !! I'm sorry for the pain you're feeling right now, but I'm so happy to hear that you no longer really stuck in that I guess emotionally void state (if that's a phrase that works here?). I'm glad therapy has been working for you too. I wish you all the best, lovely💌🌱

Ankush Dwivedi

Watched the video. Really appreciate how straightforward and honest you are to us. Also kinda impressed by how strongly you went through these things...gives me inspiration of sorts that ppl make it through heartbreak.

Pedro Marques

Oh boy, I felt so bad in the show in Rotterdam, I went there to see you (Didn't even know who are the main guys) and the crowd was so chatty :( Life does throw curve balls at us but if this is any comfort... we love you and we support you <3

Matt Beattie

Wow, that's a rubbish month or so, you sound like you are coping in a pretty healthy way though. I hope the rest of your year goes well

Joris Monster

It is incredible that you can put your emotions so good in words! Your music definitely helps me feel things at those empty times you describe :) It was amazing meeting you in Rotterdam, the crowd was indeed terrible but it was still wonderful. That day probably goes in my lists of perfect days :)❤💜❤

Hugs to you Orla! Thank you for being so open with us when you don't have to. We 100% understand why demos are late and please don't pressure yourself to put them out. Put yourself first for once. I'm so sorry about your Grandad. From the stories you've shared he seemed like a great man. So caring and supportive of your talents and where you want to go in life, a true gem. (This is a bit self absorbed here but give me a second) my granny has dementia and it's so incredibly difficult for us. It's such a horrible, horrible disease. She's become a shell of who she once was and honestly it's affected me so bad. When you created the demo about your grandad, I remember you played it on a livestream (I think) and I just remember listening to it and feeling so raw. It is just beautiful and sums up all the emotions that you feel when going through it. We've always got your back Orla, we're here for you <3

Paul McDonnell

So nice for you to share thoughts and feelings even if not good times. So refreshing! Good times will come out of the dark for you 😘

Kika Van Robays

Sending you so much love! It sounds like things haven't been easy for you, but the way you talk about them, your (raw and pure) emotions and honesty truly have touched me and made me tear up. I'm truly sorry about your grandfather and so glad you get to spend time with your family. Living isn't easy, it's a bit numbing and a bit painful. And you're doing amazing! Take your time, take a deep breath, do what makes you feel the most you (be it writing a demo, singing with your sister, of signing with an indie label... perhaps?). We are here for you, you're not alone!

Life is indeed a roller coaster. The loss of a loved one can be very difficult to get through, it's a good thing to have sooo many good things going to help you deal with it. Best wishes and hugs!

Randy L Dienes

Song is so beautiful I'm glad your part of my life😊😊😊😊

Nina Ulmer

I just finished watching this and now I just want to give you a big huuuug, hope you're okay!

Emily H

So sorry to hear about your grandpa. I had a grandparent pass away a few weeks ago and though it was not unexpected, it was really tough (and still is). It's very hard even when you know it's "coming".

Damian

I’m so sorry for your loss and yet grateful that you are releasing/have released the blocks from you feeling life fully. Thinking of you and your family and sending love and hugs x

Drew Tepper

Sending love and hugs. Sorry for your loss(es) and selfishly that is/has been one of my favorite demos for lots of reasons. I’m happy sad for you.. I hope being home has been good and hope you’ve been able to breathe in between all of this. ✌️❤️

Korni Rühlmann

I just want to hug rn, but well, all I can do is to send you a lot of love :) keep you head up and your heart strong ✌🏼️

Alan Chaess

♥ I'm sorry to hear about your loss. 😢 but you know you always have the SDC if you need us! ♥

AnnaH

I am really sorry for your loss. And I hope, that in the long run, there will be more highs and less lows. (Since I've been sitting here for about an hour writing and re-writing this comment, I will just leave it with that, and a thank you, for talking about this grey-middleground-feelings. I never found a fitting word for them other than "meh" and that doesn't describe anything. On the other hand, thinking about my general inability to communicate feelings-stuff, "meh" is quite emblematic).

Guido Böhm

So sorry for your losses, i can really relate since i've also had the same broken heard for quiet a long time and i also lost my granddad two years ago :-/ But i'm still very glad to hear that you're back on track regarding your emotions, i can tell from experience that for a musician nothing is worse than a lack of emotions, not even very sad ones.

Tommy D

a couple of things, kinda disconnected from each other, as I go through the vid: I WAS AT THAT SHOW IN BROOKLYN!! Loved seeing you and dodie perform. I had an absolute time! Sucks about the breakup; it happens and I know it can be a rough process to get through. Sorry for your loss. Losing my granddad was rough. He had pancreatic cancer and it was all kind of quick but it hurts nonetheless. Dementia is a rough beast, I had a few family members with it, not at all a fun thing to deal with. Feeling feelings is good. It reminds us of being human. Anyway much love and support, as always

Kristen

sending u SO much love!

You are complete. Your feelings are valid no matter what their intensity. Everyone here loves you just as you are. I'm glad you got some meaningful family time. I'm sad for the reason why. Sending you vibrations of healing and endurance, such as they may be.

Matt Kenneally

You are so very good at what you are doing. Trust us. Don't doubt. Sending good thoughts and Good Juju. Keep up the good work. You are spreading love and hope and joy wherever you are seen or heard.

Hanna Niemiec

I don't really know what to say, so I'm sending love and hugs

Sophie Mattholie

sending you a massive hug. life is difficult but you're stronger. i hope you can find some healing in music or anywhere else <3 ps us dodie fans will make you very welcome in march!! i'll probably have lost my voice before you even finish your set

Ewelina Adamska

orla you are so strong! i’m so sorry for your loss

Wouter Weggelaar

Sending lots of love and hugs! I am glad you can talk about all of this and that you are with family to support each other! also thank you for the visit, that was amazing and chill. I am glad that your lows are also accompanied by highs. even though it's bittersweet to have those highs when you maybe can't fully appreciate it, it sure beats not having them at all! when you look back on this later, the bad things will fade and the good things will stay. Rest in peace granddad Charlie❤

Judge

So sorry about your Grandad, Orla, and sending you all of the love. You are a wonderful person and you deserve all of the good things that are coming your way. When it rains... the flowers grow!

Aisling Harte

Dearest Orla, just wanted to reach out and say I'm sorry for your loss. A similar situation happened to me back in February, with a breakup and then the loss of my lovely granny who had dementia, two weeks later. It can all be a bit wild emotion wise! Look after yourself and be well, and sleep! x

Tomas cowap

In my granddads last months, as it were, he would always ask me to put your songs on while we got far too drunk and played cards all afternoon! I swear “down the drain” literally gave him extra life! Keep powering through all the “stuff” that comes with being you, evidently smashing it and all the vibes between you and your fans (both ways) is as true and epic as ever !

Seth Downing

Orla! I'm still new to this little family, but I'm so floored and impressed with how candid you are with us, and how well-spoken you are about such difficult issues. I lost two grandparents this year, it was tough. You are so very good at being you and doing what you do. Hang in there, we love you <3

john m foley

Hope the next few months bring a lot of new highs and less lows ❤️

Gaëtan Perrault

Hold on, your family doesn't know about the song? Oh wow. They're going to love it. I am sending you large numbers of hugs from the US West Coast.🤗🤗🤗🤗

Leann Klingensmith

Oh Orla, I'm so happy for you in your highs but aching for you in these lows! Your video genuinely made me cry...not in a bad way really, but jus a feeling way. I just lost my Grandma who had dementia a few weeks ago as well, and it really brings some feels hearing about your experience in losing your dear Charlie. It is such an odd experience to lose someone you've already mourned. My Grandma's dementia set on about ten years ago, so it had been a long road, but little me used to always bring my keyboard to her home and play for her or sometimes just listen to her talk about singing with her sister while they washed the dishes as kids - it was one of the last things she remembered, so she talked about it a lot. I was at uni studying music when she passed, and it was so hard, but I also felt that strange, beautiful comfort in knowing she wouldn't have had it any other way. Much love to you and your family ❤️

Alex Esther

My dad is a stroke survivor and when you mentioned your granddad's dementia, it got me to think about my dad's frail condition. Dad doesn't have dementia, but certainly has lost a quite a bit of his short term memory. Death is never an easy topic. I'm glad you have some comfort in you were doing what he loved you to do when he passed. And your break up! Quite the surge of emotion. I know your family will get through it. Big love.

Mollie

It takes a lot for me to truly deeply respect someone. I have respected you for years for your music but the respect I have for you because of this video is so very deep. To lay yourself out so bare like this takes some real courage and I hope you know that we all love you and are so behind you. You have us to celebrate the highs and hug out the lows. I’m so excited to see you again on Wednesday! ❤️

Phil Leith

But is it a validating fishbowl? ;-) I like that you're so introspective. But hey, remember your song "Overthinking"? :-D Eh. You know what? I was the same way when I was your age. It's all good. Yeah, you know what? It's not about the money for you, and it's not really about the demos for us. We're here because we like and support you. Let us know if the feeling comes back during YOUR tour.

Crystal White

(Sorry this is a million days late) Orla, I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather passing, but glad you were able to be with your family and celebrate his life together. It is great that you are so open and honest with us-it really normalizes all things we humans experience. Life gets tough and confusing when you hit that stage of not really feeling anything. It is hard to explain to yourself why you feel nothing in moments where you should feel everything. I hope you continue to take care of yourself and experiences the highs and lows. It is hard work to make this life what you want it to be, but not impossible. We are here for you!
