hi friends!

I am gearing up to travel the US on Sunday for a 7 week tour, playing the guitar in my friend dodie’s band. it’s the longest tour I’ve ever done (!) and the cocktail of excitement & nerves is STRONG. this week I’ve been running around like mad woman doing all the things one leaves to the last minute before a trip, (including some pretty niche ones like filming a music video & recording vocals for my next few songs) but I’ve also squeezed in some time for your August demo! which will be with you tomorrow. ☺️ there is real piano and it’s one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written. oh mama.

I have a question for u guys - any podcast or series recommendations for me? I’ve got a lot of travel coming up & I’d love something to dive in to ! leave in comments yo

Piano? Good! Favourite song? Good! What’s not to like?!? What to do while you’re away? Tell us about your location, how about ‘A place to remember, each day in September’? 🤗

Off Menu by james acaster and ed gamble is my favourite podcast! And Sara Pascoe recently started one called Sex, Power, Money and it’s v v interesting! Good luck with the tour! 😊

Midnight chats is another brilliant podcast, they chat to different musicians (like Stella Donnelly, Sharon van Etten) and also David Tennant’s podcast is a wholesome listen

Good luck with the tour (not that you need luck), enjoy it and look after yourself - because (selfishly) some of us are already thinking about your UK dates

Good Luck Orla!! Looking forward to some live footage :)

Hey Orla, you can never go wrong with "Dear Hank and John": Hank and John Green's Q&A podcast madness. I hope you'll enjoy and won't tire on this essentially long trip.

Some podcasts I love: * No Such Thing As A Fish - the researchers for QI bring weird hilarious facts to the table each week and discuss * 99% Invisible - design and just cool things to learn about every week * My Dad Wrote a Porno - I've only listened to the first series, but I howled with laughter. Also! I do a lot of commuting, and audio books have been a recent wonderful discovery (also just caving to half the internet selling me an Audible subscription?)

If ur into dungeons and dragons (or are willing to learn/listen lol) I'd suggest high rollers (aerois is on Spotify)

Rough Translation is sooo good! Or you could listen to my Mental Health podcast Mr. Feels ;)

Some old friends of my run one called "Bros Before Rose" where these 2 guys (and occasionally their wives) recap and talk about the Bachelor and Bachelorette. I don't watch either of the shows, but I still find the podcast hilarious and interesting. 10 out 10 would recommend. It's available on Spotify and I think iTunes also.
