SECRET DEMO CLUB - IT'S HERE! my album is out. I'm thinking and feeling so many things ! arnrkhgdfkgjnfidkfjgm!!!!

firstly, let's start with a fact: this album would not exist without you. I literally could not have funded the recording, visuals & marketing behind this album without the collective support of all of you over the last few years. the only way I could have otherwise made this thing would have been to sign to a record label and allow them to fund the project in return for a lot of creative compromise on my behalf. I am SO GLAD that instead I could set up my label 'new friends' & make my debut full length completely on my own terms - I cannot stress to you how insanely rare an opportunity like that is! this album is ours to celebrate together and may it be the first of many to come :)

to anyone willing to assemble the SDC street team, here are a list of things you can do to help this week (as always, some of these cost money and others don't - if you can't afford things please don't worry! your support here alone is more than enough)

- something I'd love to draw your attention to: I MADE A CHORD BOOK OF THE ALBUM with illustrations by none other than the secret demo club's own Emily Welbers! you can download the full album + instrumental album (!) + chord book on my website here. I made it as cheap as I possibly could for all 3 together and I think it's really good value - it'll be available on my website until next friday, the 27th. each sale of this counts as an official chart sale, but only if you actually download the file before the 27th! so please get those sweet files downloaded to your computer and enjoy

- a simple way to help out is to retweet my main 'out now' album tweet or re-post my 'out now' insta post to your story. if you'd like to write your own post about the album, here is the ! ! ! MASTER LINK ! ! ! that re-directs you everywhere you can buy/stream it, from my own merch store to spotify, apple music etc etc and I've attached assets below like the album front cover, back cover etc.

- I've also set up this *OPEN SOURCE 'WOMAN ON THE INTERNET' ARTWORK FOLDER*: https://orla.ffm.to/sdc-streetteam

where you can upload & share your album-related artwork and images (if you're happy for me/others to re-post them)! so many of you have made amazing things already so I want to celebrate that! when adding files please add your usernames into the file name in this format:

instagram: @orlagartland / twitter: @orlagartland

& remember if you're re-posting artwork by others to tag them in your caption :')

- if you haven't already, ordering a physical version of the album from my store  is the most tangible way to support the album campaign! there are CDs, vinyls and cassettes (the cassette is the most affordable way to own a physical version btw, if the vinyls are too much). thanks to covid international postage from the UK is mad right now - so if you're in the US/further afield I understand the shipping costs from my store may just be too high to warrant! Rough Trade US are stocking the vinyl which should cost much less in shipping, but please note the physical release in the US is delayed by 2 weeks (so vinyls bought from US stores will be out in the US September 3rd - any US purchases from my merch store direct released from today). thanks for understanding !

- sending the album direct to a friend is always a great thing too! word-of-mouth and personal recommendations are so powerful. :)

LOVE YOU ALL. COMMENT AND LET ME KNOW YOUR FAVOURITE SONG, THOUGHTS AND/OR FEELINGS TODAY.  :')

I'm gonna be soppy because I can't sleep. But the first article I had published was one about you and that opened doors for me to work with a bunch of different magazines and I'm still so thankful. I've now reviewed this album too but I don't think words can do justice to the journey we've all gone on for the last couple of years. Thank you!

I downloaded the mp3 version today. I had pre-ordered the music bundle back in early June but wanted the mp3s on my phone. When I saw that the download included instrumental versions of the songs I was like "oh. okay. I guess that's nice. Whatever." But now that I have actually listened to them I readily confess that I have fallen deeply in love with them. Not only are they gorgeous all on their own but listening to them is a bit of a musical revelation. Plus they graciously allow my ADHD brain to wander at will with no judgments. Thank you, Orla, for including them in the download package. They are an unexpected but treasured gift.
