CRAZY NEWS! (+ I need your help) (Patreon)

SECRET DEMO CLUB! you may have seen but I got some insane news today: my album is no.8 in the UK midweek charts and within reach of a top 5 in Ireland. for an independently released album this is FULLY INSANE !!! truly not something I expected at all.

you know what that means.. I need your help. ~*SDC STREET TEAM ASSEMBLE*~

here are some things you can do to help *up until Thursday morning* (this is the chart count cutoff).

If you’re in the UK:

• If you haven’t already, purchase a physical copy of my album from my merch store (the cassettes are the most affordable physical version!). If you already have a copy & have £ to spare, consider purchasing the album in a different format ! some local record stores around the country also have the album stocked, so if you’d rather purchase one IRL call your local & ask if they have it stocked!

*btw multiple purchases do count! if u buy the album run diff physical formats in the store, or once on bandcamp, once on iTunes, once on the store etc.. but only one digital store on each platform counts. e.g. if u download from the store twice, it will only count as one chart unit.

If you’re in Ireland:

• Rather than paying postage expenses from my merch store (based in UK) save yourself pennies by ordering your physical copy (CD or vinyl) from the Tower Records store or website.

Relevant to both UK&Ireland:

• Digital downloads are also counted as chart units.. you can purchase the album digitally on iTunes, Bandcamp (less gross/corporate) *or* the digital download version available on my merch store. The version on my store is by far the best value as it includes the an instrumental version of the whole album + a chord book with beautiful illustrations by the SDC’s own Emily Welbers! (**plz note that for the download from my merch store to work, you need to click ‘download’ on the email you get before Thursday morning).

• If you can’t afford any of the above, streaming the album on loop helps too! (the chart counts 1000 streams as one unit, so a pretty brutal conversion rate but it does count!). If you create an account on last.fm you can ‘scrobble’ the album on repeat - putting the instructions for this at the bottom of this text post. it sounds complicated but it’s not and if you run into trouble leave a comment below and the mighty scrobble queen Greta can help you out.

If you’re in the rest of the world:

• Do buy yourself a physical copy if you’d like one! It doesn’t help us with these 2 chart positions (the charts consider the country from the address on the card, rather than the store you purchase from) but helps the campaign as a whole. The vinyls/CDs/cassettes really are quite beautiful and a nice thing to own!
• Spreading the word to friends in the UK/ireland to stream or buy the album
• If you happened to have a VPN.. and you.. I dunno..?! set the location as the UK.. and then scrobbled the album on last.fm over the next couple days.. idk.. I mean I can’t tell you to do that but.. I could ???!!! tehe

In all seriousness lads, this is a hell of an achievement for all of us and I’m SO grateful! Join me for one big push over the next couple days.

LOVE! OG xxxxxx

Instructions for scrobbling:

• Create an account on last.fm
• Connect your last.fm account to your spotify, instructions here. (your last.fm ‘scrobbles’ allow you to keep track of how many times you’ve played the songs)
• Open this INFINITELY LOOPING WOTI playlist and loop it in the background to your heart’s content:
• (alternatively you can make your own playlist with the album songs added, and loop that instead - but if you use that playlist I can keep an eye on it on my end and check the how many streams are coming from it)
