voice memo: 'stalemate' (Patreon)

hey gang! this is the first thing I croaked out to wake up my voice earlier; it's a song I've been working on that I think I'll call 'stalemate'. it's about a friendship that is so long and nuanced I find yourself getting lost in it sometimes as I grow up - with bad habits so baked into the dynamic it's hard to see a way to change them. I'd be curious to know if that kind of idea strikes a chord with anyone else? or.. just me

I'm out in LA at the moment - half working, half resting in advance of dodie's big mega 2 month US tour. it's like - spent monday writing, spent yesterday at Disneyland kinda thing. (it was amazing by the way - I really enjoyed being a big kid for the day!). I'm starting to have headspace again, starting to fill notebooks again, starting to get excited about writing again - it's been good. I'm excited to upload your January demo too - it's a weird one!
