demo no. 81: fresh start (Patreon)

oh you know me, the end of a year gets me all reflective. your december demo celebrates just that - the hope of a new year paired with the cynicism of a new year, all rolled into one. this is 'fresh start' & I hope you like it : )

I had a lot of fun with this one, trying new guitar tones and continuing my mission of making the drums sound good. in chorus 1 here I tried a hybrid of programmed kicks + live hats & snares.. it was fun. lots to learn still but bringing drums into the studio was definitely a highlight of 2022. your girl been thinking so much about RHYTHM !

in the next few days I'll also be uploading the long screen record vid of our first SDC open mic, which was SO incredibly fun.

I am so grateful for the support (both emotional + financial) you lot have given me in 2022. as I look down the barrel of album 2 it is hard to imagine my career without the SDC - my favourite place on the internet, a safe haven for my music & communication with the people that love it the most, not to mention a way to continue as an independent artist. thank u & I love u!
