demo 92: I did nothing (Patreon)

hello SDC ! happy 8 years of this, happy 92nd demo to you all - you are the best audience a girl could ever ask for.

right now I am SNIFFLY and very much under the weather.. I've got a song I was desperate to sing for u today but after many hours of trying I sadly just can't wrestle my voice into any kind of usable shape so I'm throwing it back a few months for this demo. this is a song I've been working on on & off w my friends over the past few months, one that has long been an album 2 contender but at the mo is not looking like part of the OGII line up (mainly cause there's a song on the current pending tracklist that you haven't heard yet but I think gives me a similar feeling!). I love this one so much, so I figured I would love you to hear it as is ❤️‍🔥

I uploaded part of this idea in the past, way back in 2022 - it was called 'DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE' (which could totally still be the title).  This song is about a spiritual experience, so to speak. 🍄

I love you SDC, as the year closes and the pensive times begin I'm more grateful for you all than ever. This demo was partly recorded as part of a bunch of experimental jam sessions down in the studio where I recorded Woman On The Internet. Getting to include other people in the demo'ing process - drummers, other instrumentalists - is a huge privilege and something that has made a marked difference in the process of this album, compared to WOTI (which was demo'd entirely by myself, before bringing it to the studio). 🥁 paying for the studio time and the fees of the creatives (engineers/producers/musicians) I'm working with has only been possible because of SDC funds! It is so beautiful and so FREEING to sometimes make this process more collaborative, give it a different flavour, give each song idea time and space to develop.. it's amazing. So thank YOU so much for awarding me that creative freedom, it has gone such a long way in allowing OG02 to spread its wings thus far. 👼

maaaan, I'm so excited to bring you this second album in 2024 :') I'm still about 80-85% finished btw.. but it's been coming along lots these last few weeks, with the delivery of some final mixes! I have a strong feeling (and hope) that this record will be worth the wait.
