Lore Writer's Blog: Part 1 - In the Beginning (Patreon)
Content
Hello, and welcome to the first blog of the Lore-Writers Blog. I am Jon Slabaugh, you all know me as "Jao" but some of you may not have known that I am also a writer. I have been writing since I was a kid and it has always been something that came easy to me as I have a very deep and vivid imagination. Some of the things that I have written include poetry, music, short stories, fan-fiction, and informational books. I am also a self-published author. I graduated with honors in English, Grammar, and Spelling, but sadly I am not a linguist, so lore-nerds who are hoping for a custom language of Dragons and Elementals akin to the tongues of Men, Dwarves, and Elves are going to be a bit disappointed, but hiring a linguist to create a language for the dragons and elementals is something I'd love to do if we get ever got the funding needed down the road to do it. But enough about me, let's talk about Jrakhon!
The world of Jrakhon is the home-world of Dragonkind, but not the home-world of the Elementals. How did the Elementals get to Jrakhon? Why are they there? Do they have an ancient history with the Dragons? These are all questions that had to be answered before setting the premise for the lore in Day of Dragons which lore-seekers will slowly uncover while exploring the game and talking to special NPC's.
In the beginning, El' created the Dragons, and the first Dragon was Jrakhon, known as the Firstborne, the father of all Dragons. Those in his bloodline are called jrakhonborne, or more commonly dragonborne, the descendents of Jrakhon.
Each of the different dragonkind had a Firstborne, but the Dragons were the first to walk on this world. Next came the Wyverns, and then the Drakes, and then the Amphitheres, and other dragonkind followed. The pride of the Dragons is well known among the different races, and has always led to a certain level of conflict between the Firstborne and the Secondborne bloodlines.
Well, I hope you all enjoyed this first Lore Writer's Blog. I should be getting one of these out per month and we'll continue exploring the lore of Jrakhon in Part 2.
PS: Jrakhon is pronounced "Drahk-khon" Think Klingon, German, and Dwarvish.
