Concept Pipeline - Behemoth Ice Drake (Patreon)

Being the first day of December, we wanted to give you all an early (cold-loving) Christmas present. In today's post we are taking a look at one of the concept models for the Behemoth Ice Drake. We have been working on this off and on for a long time, before we illustrate a 2D concept, we create the 3D model. This is Variant A which is inspired by, well, I'm sure you already know. ;) 

The Behemoth Ice Drake is semi-aquatic, able to swim in the frigid glacial waters of the Winter Winds with ease using his powerful crocodile-like tail. Of all the designs we've toyed with, we really like this body. His strong powerful but slow body, thick scales, large teeth, kingly crown, and deadly horns.

The horns are not final, as you can see this is just variant A, the idea behind these horns is that they'd be used for combat, not for feeding. For feeding, he'd feed on fish in the glacial sea/lakes where the horns would not be in the way. But we are also looking at other horn styles before we finalize the design. 

The Behemoth Ice Drake is the last of the Kickstarter dragons to conceptualize and model, and will be one of the largest dragons in the game.
