(Patreon)
Content
This is the lesson on the vocal accompaniment for Shinkyubushi (Tsugaru Jongara Bushi). In this video, we cover the Taiko (Drum) part.
Tsugaru Jongara Bushi is typically performed by a trio consisting of vocals, Shamisen, and Taiko. The timing of the Taiko is fixed, so please check it in the video. For those who find it difficult to play the Shamisen part of the Taiko, it is also very important to learn the Taiko rhythm and be able to play along with it. Try to grasp when and what rhythm to play first.
Advanced players should start by having the example in this video memorized and eventually aim to create your own Taiko phrasing through improvisation.
