Hate to be this guy (again), but I think I'm missing from the credits. :/

Owen Piper

Hbomb, my dude, I think you missed me out of the credits :/ I'm in the text crawl but I didn't hear my name like :/ Sorry D: Good video though, got it all up on the big screen to watch it with popcorn and shit :3

Roumenov

This was an outstanding video.

David Glover-Aoki

I *really* loved this video. Thank you so much and I'm super happy this was the first one I backed. But oh man are your credits long. You should totally up the price for getting on screen / read out.

Hbomb

I'm definitely gonna have to rework the credits sooner rather than later. I think I might announce that my next super-long game analysis will be the last one where I read credits and then rework the system

Jon Cantwell

I only just now got around to watching this and it is FANTASTIC. So heckin proud to have my name on the credits for this. I was not even remotely expecting to go on several consecutive feels trips but then again it's an Hbomb video so maybe I should have been??? I don't even have anything useful or constructive to say other than holy shit I'm yellin' about how good this was.

Adam

This is your best work so far. You somehow managed to wax philosophical about Dragon's Lair without sounding like an obnoxious twat. That's impressive!

Jürgen

This was such an amazing video it finally tipped me over the edge to become a patreon of yours.

Coming to this a bit late, I know, but I feel like I should throw in some additional kudos. Seeing as how I worked on the CD-I version of Shadoan, I mean :-D Background: A little over 20 years ago, when I was a starving student, I answered an ad from a local software company called CapDisc looking for tech-savvy kids willing to work as QA testers. Turned out the company was convinced that CD-I was The Future -- I knew this was ridiculous even at the time, but the opinions of a 19-year-old kid held as much weight with management as you might expect (sigh) -- so over the next year and a half I spent a lot of time writing bug reports for absolutely awful CD-I shovelware. But among the crappy trivia games and such was one title that management was absolutely convinced was going to be their ticket to riches: Shadoan. I had no idea of the backstory behind the game, or how the CD-I rights to it had come into our hands; all I knew was that it felt like a road-company production of Dragon's Lair, a style of game that (as you note) by 1995 had been out of fashion for more than a decade. Taking that game and porting it to CD-I, a game machine literally nobody owned, did not strike me as the royal road to riches. But, again, who listens to a kid in the QA dungeon? So I just filed more bug reports and waited to see how things would turn out. Which, spoiler alert, was not great: the company folded a year later. As far as I could tell, it was bankrupted by attempts to hire animators in Russia to spruce up Shadoan's presentation. One Saturday morning we were all called into the office and informed that (1) the animators in Russia somehow OWNED OUR COMPANY now, and (2) we were all out of a job. Which seemed kind of shady to me, but I let it go because I had a sense that questioning shady behavior by Russians could be detrimental to my long-term health prospects. So that was the end of my professional relationship with Shadoan. Fun Fact: while all this was going on, there was another little software company with its own big dreams plugging away in a nondescript office not far from ours. That company was called Bethesda Softworks, and the project _they_ were working on was a PC RPG that eventually became The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. I sometimes wonder how my life would be different today if they had been the ones to advertise for testers in our campus newspaper :-D Anyway, great vid. Thanks for helping me learn all the big drama that lurked underneath the little drama I happened to be party to!
