6 days and 22 hours without power and water.  The lights finally came on about 6:30pm yesterday....and then we discovered that a tree limb had fallen on my well pump and cracked a pipe.  So, there I was, running through the back yard like a giddy little (47-year-old) 5-year-old as it sprayed mine and the neighbors back yards.  Three hours and a few hundred dollars later (it always helps to know a plumber or two) and everything was pretty much back to normal right around 10pm.

By midnight the house was a chilly 65 degrees....and I slept for nearly 12 hours.

I've pretty much resigned myself to playing maid for the rest of the day...mountains of laundry, dirty dishes, gag-worthy bathrooms, etc, etc.

I'll probably get back to artistic endeavors later this evening or tomorrow while everyone else is at work...I don't have to go back to (real) work 'til Tuesday.  :D

YAAAAAY, back to some semblance of normal is a great thing. Glad you got by with only minimal damages, but still the clean up is gonna be a chore and a half I'm sure. Still I'm sure it feels great to get back to a routine again. Now I wonder what shape your real life job is going to be in. Well good luck with all of it anyway. We'll be ready for the drawing when ever you get back to it. No rush, life takes priority. Thanks for the updates, they're good for those of us who follow that care about y'all's well being. Be safe.

Yeah, today was my first real day back to work too. Now I'm just waiting on the insurance adjuster and the FEMA guy/girl to do their inspection....not holding my breath for either of them.
