It's time once again for the annual journey to Retronauts' Christmas locale for another holiday treat. And this year, we're kicking off our eleventh yuletide celebration with a look at the third and final Pokemon album to grace our ears: 2001's Totally Pokemon. Though the fad had slowed slightly by the turn of the 21st century, our friends at Rave Music managed to assemble one more collection of songs—and a collection of photogenic young people to sing them. So warm yourself by the fire, boil up some nog, and enjoy this year's holiday special as we wait patiently for Santa Claus and Johto's reunion tour!

It isn’t Crixmix until I hear snow crunching, wolves howling and Bob Mackey. Welcome to Canada sir! Now to get an igloo like a proper Canuck.

I listened to many cd’s walking around school. Britney was in my cd lineup and I loved her then and now. Being Bi might have something to do with it but I was the class clown so people didn’t rag on me too much for that. But when is get a giant pimple on my nose I was Rudolph for that whole week!!!!

Another year, another holiday sans the gift fans truly desire, the Yu Gi Oh nu-metal/butt rock album (Music to Duel By).

I *still* have songs from the 2019 Pokemon Holiday Special stuck in my head, so this one has a lot to live up to.

The Retronauts Christmas episodes are always the best podcast episodes. I never listened to this album but the individual songs are giving me STRONG nostalgia because KidsWB when they starting airing the Johto episodes of the Pokemon anime actually used these songs to replace the "PokeRap" that used to be at the end of episodes. So you would literally get a weird official Anime Music Video of the song "Together Forever" with every single instance of someone hugging a Pokemon in the anime being shown on-screen.

Next up...the movie soundtracks. Chadtronic on YouTube has a couple of videos about the Pokemon Live show. They are really interesting.

Great episode! Finally got me on the $5 tier. One slightly pedantic correction I have just because I was obsessed with the anime as a kid: Misty and Brock were still around during the Johto arc of the show. Misty left at the end of it and Brock stuck around for awhile in Hoenn until he left to be a breeder. Oh and the Johto theme song is actually the 3rd one in the dub. The 2nd one was "Pokemon World" during the Orange Islands filler. And trust me, both those are very fondly remembered by people now in their late 20s

Game Informer did an interview podcast with the writer for the Pokémon live show and it’s as bizarre as you’d expect. Search for Game Informer Pokémon Live podcast.
