i loved it, this story reached out to my inner 16 year old heart, when i would read percy jackson, or the kane chronicles books, even tho you know I was a 16 year old this is exactly how a story would look for me, even the huge gods fighting, so i can appreciate what they did in my own way, could have more done to it but hey, i’m ok with it for what it is, even the ending, which i’m sure they’ll make another season or movie with him in it, but thanks for the watch

Randee Carreno

Happy Tuesday, Natalie! 😊 This is another fantastic episode! Still hoping that there will end up being a season 2. Looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Ally Driver

Kenobi in 3 days! cant wait, hope you watch it on Friday as well :)

Ren

Yes, to put it in layman's terms, this is a story about a god taking advantage of someone with DID. 😂

Degenerick

The psych ward you kept seeing with dr harrow, is how marc and steven subconsiously perceived their mind and their disorder. It gets explained a bit better in the comics.

Ian

Happy Tuesday nat hope you are well , quick thankyou for dealing with that trolling guy yesterday he was really annoying everyone . Enjoyable series that a talking hippo and a talking crocodile lol definitely unusual that but most certainly different from anything else we have watched . You looked so confused at the end hahaha all in all it's been a hecka lotta fun watching with you nat cheers for the tears and laughs and until the next video stay golden 💛

Darryl Low

"What???" I hear ya Nat. This was definitely a show of moments. Great acting, great music. But as a story, I felt it was just a muddle. Like a jigsaw, but with pieces from different puzzles. I really liked all the Egyptian mythos though, as that interests me a lot. I enjoyed your reaction Nat, but this was not a series for me. Thanks for your video today 💛

Jose Zamora Orellana

Best confusion face I've ever seen 😂 Hopefully the confusion didn't sour the experience too much, the YT edit is gonna be hilarious

Seth Workman

It’s ok if you had some things wrong ab the show. This one was made for true marvel fans. Not just people who only watch the movies.

Nautilus1492

Hi Nat and thank you for this new reaction! Your face at the end was a pure gemstone 😂, so much confusion in your eyes hahaha, as always you're at the top! 😄 And the cast for the show was just so great, Oscar Isaac, May Calamawy and Ethan Hawke did a really amazing job in their roles, and F. Murray Abraham was really awesome in Khonshu's voice acting. Really can't wait for your next reaction! I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

R.BGames37

Such a pitty this is the end for now. And excited for the next journey.

Benjamin Muscanere

I think the none of this makes sense argument doesn’t work when we are dealing with Gods and superhero’s.

terrell thaddies

Moon Knight MIGHT get a 2nd season. I really liked this series and all of its Egyptian Mythology.

Kevin Mowery

Are we just taking advantage of someone with Multiple Personality Disorder? Yes, but it's Dissociative Identity Disorder. It's not a personality disorder. Basically, Marc is the first alter. Steven took form when Marc needed an alter who didn't remember all of the bad things in his life (and alters based on fictional characters, or real people, aren't unknown). And Jake is very likely the alter that actually took the physical abuse, and he's the one that inflicts that back on the world. The psych ward is likely a manifestation of Marc/Stephen/Jake's internal world, which can be nonexistent, or a room, a house, or an entire world full of "NPCs." It's a place where the alters can go when they're not in control, and where they can interact or even have full lives (sort of; it's complicated). Last bit, the glass in the shoes was penance, like scourging or wearing a hair shirt. Harrow knew he was evil and fully expected to be judged by Ammit, and even kind of begged Ammit to use one of the good disciples. It was kind of a disappointment for him to find out that Ammit was willing to look beyond the evil in Harrow's future because it was going to be done in service to her.

simon.shoots

theres a 3rd personality.. lol yup

Jules 4 Fools

Khonshu was able to gigantify by the power of the moon. He turned the day into night and brought the power of the moon with him.

FateMalone

He thought by putting the glass in his shoe he would be forgiven and his scales would balance.

Jason Dolan

One thing I came away from with this reaction... my mom was also a Libra, and she was pretty judgy.

ButtyOh

This crappy series finale almost soured the whole thing for me. Just blacking out for the whole climax of the fight pissed me off so much

NFXx

Lmao I love how so confused you were. Such a great show. Really love the performances from everyone especially Oscar and Ethan. Oscar shows how well range he has. From what I’ve read about the character Harrow, he’s only a one shot character in the comics. He was only in one issue, never had any other appearances. Really shows Ethan’s ability to turn a very extremely minor character into something more. So about Jake Lockley, the end credit scene isn’t the first time we were introduced to him. In the previous episode where they’re in Harrows office, Jake was also speaking to Harrow. He’s the one with the bandage nose. You can tell, besides the bandaged nose by how he acts, his mannerisms and the way he speaks (with a different accent) that it’s not Marc. He’s kinda unhinged in the scene. Also some people are saying that he actually showed up in the first episode at the end when Stevens in the bathroom and we first see Marc in the mirror, Jake was also speaking to Steven in the other side of the mirror. Could be true or not.

Jason Dolan

What's your favorite cereal? Mine's Time Crunch.

Julian Calzada

i think the "mental ward" IS an organizing construct and doubles as his interpretation of the underworld. i bet them made it up to deal with the death of their mother and it just so happens to let steven and marc meet and confront each other and the trauma that leads to marc's current state.

Myles Away

Episodes 4 and 5 were fantastic. The performances by Oscar Issac and Ethan Hawke are superb. However, the rest of this show was pretty bad. The writing was was very convenient and felt like we were listening to NPCs from video games tell us our next mission most of the time. It's a bit disappointing because episodes 4 and 5 show us that there was a very interesting show somewhere in there. It was just buried underneath bad jokes and convenient plot contrivances. However, because of Oscar Issac and Ethan Hawke its hard to not want to watch because you may get a brilliant scene amongst the rest.

George Baxter

I think Moonknight at least plays around with ambiguity. We are following the perspective of a man with mental issues and multiple personalities. Other Marvel shows are more linear and spoon feed exposition. The intention here is to raise scary existential questions; we're talking about Egyptian Gods. On the other hand this show has some of the repeated issues that have cropped up in the previous Marvel shows. It feels like we needed another episode. These 6 episode mini-series are fun but they shouldn't always feel so rushed. Marvel should tell simple but epic stories with this format. Whereas Hawkeye feels like too many disparate threads Moonknight feels very focused on a singular character. Except he's three characters... and yet somehow 1 of the 3 isnt explored...

Anthony Campbell

the glass in his shoes was his way of paying penance for what he's done. He references this when first released Ammit

Ortiz Jorge

Loveeed your confusion face! hahaha. Yes there are 3 personalities in him: Marc, Steven and Jake. The third personality was hinted with the red sarcophagus that Marc and Steven didn't open.

DMB

That reaction at the end is why I wish that I didn't know about the comics before these shows. Baseline Moon Knight in the comics always had 3 identities, arguably 4 if you think Moon Knight and Marc Spector were different people. I know it's not your thing but I would love to get a retrospective opinion on Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), maybe to add to the end of your Youtube reaction when it comes out, to bring awareness to mental health? If not just for your own curiosity there is a Youtuber braiDIDbunch that has DID and reviewed DID representation in Moon Knight. This was my favorite Marvel series so far, thank you for your reactions!

Summer

Natalie I highly recommend watching the New Rockstars episode recaps if you get a chance. Eric goes a lot more into the comics and explains things that went unsaid in the series. he’s also just a lot of fun to watch 😁

Yoshiwa

Its simple marc has 2 split personalities jake lockley and steven grant and it makes complete sense. Marc created steven to come with the pain and trauma, but how can marc cope with the killing ? Well he created jake lockley to cope with that I am assuming.

LJ Mickey

I am so happy to hear that I am not the only one, who was confused. Especially the Dr. Harrow's office was something I quite couldn't understand. But overall a great show and great cast. Waiting for a second season

Ben Wheeler

Side note--Gods and Monsters would be a great movie to react to starring Ian McKellan and Brendan Fraser about James Whale, the director of the 1930s Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein films.

Riolkin

This show was so wild. Marvel always has to do a big CGI boss battle at the end of their stuff, and as cool as it was I kinda felt like the Kaiju fight took away from the more intense story between Marc, Layla, and Harrow.

hazy

This was such an interesting show and like you said explored so many things that we usually don't get in a Marvel show, so I really appreciated that. However I do think it suffered from being a little rushed at the end. I was really enjoying it up through episode 5, and unfortunately I think the ending could have been better served from splitting episode 6 into two. We also never got to see what happened with Layla and I would've appreciated a moment with her. I know she said she only wanted to be a temporary avatar but did she change her mind after she saw how much it meant to that girl that there was finally an Egyptian superhero? I wish we found out.

NobleSon32

Such a beautiful voice you have nat. Speaking about the end discussion. You are the best!! Unfortunately there will be no more seasons...however... I think Moon Knight will come back in future MCU movies. As that 3rd persona is still unexplored. While Konshu released Mark and Steven. The End Credit scene shows Konshu is still bound to the 3rd persona. Love you bunches Nat!

Trish Murphy

Harrow tells Amit that he had hoped his penance would make up for his”imbalance”. I think the glass in his shoes was at least part of that penance. Why was Marc/Steven there though? I struggle with that too. I loved how different this was from MCU but I’m left wondering how it ties back in. I’ve heard that the Kit Harrington post credit scene from Eternals hints at a character that at least in the comics involves Moon Knight. Why did Marc/Steven feel the need to tie their leg to the bed & sprinkle sand? They’re integrated now so wouldn’t they discuss it? Marc saw the 2nd sarcophagus and ignored it twice. He knew there was a third alter. Is he still trying to protect Steven? Last question for now. Where’s Layla? Why London? How are they living their lives now that they are “free” of Khonshu? Does Marc notice that he is missing time? Does he suspect a 3rd alter? Ok that was more than 1 question. I love that this series makes me think and analyze but I really hope we will see more of these characters

yurrrjo

I also wanted to point there might have been times we actually saw Jake come out to talk to Harrow, from the comics Jake is a taxi driver from Brooklyn and the part where "Marc" was talking to Harrow with that broken nose and he said "You're not really a Doctor" didn't sound like Marc or Steven

Kevin Bartelen

I assume Harrow was in the psych ward because, I assume that being fused with Ammit broke him but I'm not certain. Also for all anyone knows, reality may be Mark in the psych ward after all. Even in the comics it's unclear what's really real.

Joe Blankenship

We've not seen the last of Moon Knight. Surely he'll play into future Marvel stuff when the other magical type people start showing up. I hope Layla comes back too as "Scarlet Scarab". I really liked that actress, and her curly hair.

Rev.J

I would very much recommend Ryan Arey on the Screen Crush channel. He does an in-depth breakdown of each episode of all the Marvel shows (as well as other shows and movies). Lots of background history taken from the comics and even an understanding of the music choices during each episode. Perhaps watch them at the end of the season if you want to view each instalment with out any knowledge of the character histories (I was watching until the end waiting for Jake to appear). https://www.youtube.com/c/ScreenCrush/playlists

Matthew Periolat

Well, I loved it! Yes, it’s very much like WandaVision, superheroes framing insight on mental health, in this case DID. I sincerely and devoutly hope there is more Moon Knight coming, mainly because I too love Oscar Issacs in this. But, without spoiling too much, let’s just say the thing I love most is Layla as a super hero and that moment with her and the Egyptian girl. Kinda get the feeling she isn’t giving up Avatar-hood just yet. And there will be more. Sooner than you think.

Will Godar

You're not stupid! I love Moon Knight and greatly enjoy his comics but they definitely dip into the "what is reality" space a lot more than other Marvel stuff. I was very interested to watch your reaction because this entire show reads very differently the more you know about the character. Really hope it gets a season 2!

jamie jones

Great show! Wish it were more than 6 episodes. Can’t wait for Daredevil!!

MightyHobo

"I don't know what is happening" could be the tagline for Moon Knight in general. It's a wild ride that you spend the entire trip in the dark.

djKENTO

Really loved this reaction. I appreciated the show a LOT more on the second viewing. Felt like every plot point with the exception of Jake is given away in the first ten minutes of the first episode. The heroes, the villains, even Taweret has cute plush toys. It's really fun when you know what's what to go back through. Also YES. They are just taking advantage of a man with DID. Khonshu is a piece of shit. Honestly, Moon Knight's comics can be super hit or miss depending on who's writing. There's a lot of inconsistency on what is actually wrong with him, and recently they made his multiple personalities Spider-Man, Captain America and Wolverine and it was SUPER FUCKING CRINGE. Like really bad. I don't think this was perfect by any means. I'm really hoping we get Moon Knight teaming up with Black Knight/Dane Whitman from Eternals and Blade... get some MIDNIGHT SONS team up action.

Banana Hammocks

my only problem with moon knight is the forced god fighting and the lack of worldbuilding for how big of a power you are bringing to the universe with gods. i felt this way about witches in wanda vision and now i do about the gods in moon knight. i just think there are 10+ years of storytelling just in witches and just in gods but theyre super rushed and not even the main movies. i love all of the mcu to be honest but nothing of the past few years has hit like the early stuff cause theyre forcing the stakes too high. its why i love hawkeye so much! low stakes and character work!

Darren P

if you enjoyed the show, you might like the assembled episode that just came out on D+! it gives behind the scenes and goes in depth on all the aspects of making the show. might answer some of your questions too lol

John Piazza

Lol you’re confused because you didn’t read the comics. In the comics he always had three personalities. An assassin, a billionaire playboy, and a cab driver.

Kevin

Ou i can't wait for Multiverse of Madness

Carl Adams

This is how Moon Knight is supposed to make you feel. lol

Jenna Antonelli

The broken glass is penance for his past sins. It's like self flagellation. Harrow clearly struggles with the fact that he is a sinner, whether it was through his service with Konshu or on his journey to release Ammit. But he also enjoys dealing out pain, judgement and punishment. So its like a daily ritual of attonement or centering back to earth through pain. I dunno I feel like it didnt need more explanation than that but I realize this may not occur to some watchers.

FearTheTREMOR

Steven can never just dissappear. People with DID cant just kill or get rid of their alters. The treatment for it is ususally collaboration and getting the alters to live together as partners. And grief wasn't the cause of Marc's problems. Its trauma. Sure grief too once his mom died it just made it all worse, but not everything is about grief. It's what his mother did to him and how she treated him. That's abuse, which manifests as trauma which caused him to split his mind to protect himself.

Henri

Haven't seen this stated anywhere, but I assume the reason that they know the spell to bind Ammit and Harrow is because they are both being possessed by gods who know it, and are speaking through them/feeding them the words.

Henri

I think the psych ward is exactly what "Dr." Harrow said, a construction. It is literally a construction of how they experience the underworld, but it's also a construct within that, that their mind can retreat to. At the end I think its just them being like "we don't need this anymore".
