The conversation between Ben and the editor at 26:00-ish wasn't a threat, it was about giving Ben better health benefits for his wife. Yeah there is a pay bump too, but the implication is the boss is trying to move Ben into an easier position to help his wife.

Love all the flashbacks from college in this episode, really build up the ending when Matt's crying as he's losing his best friend, really well done.

Awesome episode. Love this show. If you watch jessica jones season 1 next you’ll be introduced to 3 of the 4 defenders, making watching the defenders mini-series before season 3 of daredevil more enjoyable.

The dialogue on this show is SO good, there have been multiple scenes where an actor(usually Charlie Cox) has gotten an extended monologue that just had me transfixed. From the first episode's opening of Matt in the confessional, to Matt's closing argument in the case Wesley hired them for, to Father Lanton's story about the warlord in Africa, and now Matt's story about hearing the cries of the girl being abused by her father. Even in its quietest moments, it's utterly compelling television.

The Defenders gets a bad rap. It was WAY better than I was expecting. Nat, I know it doesn't seem like it now, but what you're watching with Daredevil Season 1 is doing some serious world-building. We're talking Avengers-level. And when you see who the main villain of Defenders is....you will shit Twinkies. I have spoken.

I wouldn't say Defenders is "WAY better" than I expected. In fact I'll be honest and, despite firmly being in the "watch everything in the release order" camp, I'd say it was a bit disappointing. It's clear that Netflix was overly ambitious and just about every major problem in this corner of the MCU can be traced back to them underestimating the hurdles they would face in creating a shared universe of shows like this. But it's freaking amazing! As is often the case, the journey was better than the destination, but it's also a part of the continuing journey and vital to understanding all the shows that followed. Plus it's pretty fun if you let it be. These shows left ripples that have been felt and will be felt in the rest of the MCU and I just wish Netflix had gotten far enough to introduce Squirrel Girl. Fingers crossed Disney+ gets us there eventually.

She's been doing two episodes of Daredevil a week, yes. She's also been doing an episode of Eurphoria and a movie each week too. If you're not a fan of Daredevil, that's cool. But to say it's been "always only Daredevil" on here is quite disingenuous.

Her schedule for this past month and a half has been 2 days of Daredevil, 2 days of Euphoria and a movie on fridays. It's not like she's misleading anyone lol. I LOVE this episode. I think this series is truly spectacular, but there are episodes that really grab me. This is the one from this season that I could rewatch over and over. Elden and Charlie have such beautiful and fun chemistry. Avocados at Law!

I guess you can put it to a poll or whatever, but there's really no reason to watch any of the other Netflix Marvel shows. Sadly, other than Jessica Jones season one, it's pretty much a downward curve most of the way. I would just stick to DD and maybe watch the recap for The Defenders between season 2 and season 3.

Pfft the shows are all exceptionally great. I don’t even buy that you’ve watched them all. You just want this wrapped up quickly to watch something you’re more interested in. Same, when you watch the entire thing in order. It's pretty rewarding experience. I did it myself recently after putting it off for so long due to other's opinions. Gotta stop doing that, I was missing out on a ton of good shit.

The "I don't like this thing therefore it's garbage" mentality is so infantile (but also so common these days). My personal suggestion is to watch the whole story in sequence until you've reached The Defenders. At that point you'll have met everyone and can make your own informed decision whether to continue with each show, based on your own enjoyment. Not watching something because Joe Blow says "It totally sucks man" is kind of crazy when others are highly recommending it.

Ah, the third person I've seen watch this show that didn't pick up on Matt, in a flashback, saying "When I find someone who's voice I enjoy hearing" after Foggy asked him about being in an actual, long-term relationship. That's a neat thing to pick up on bc earlier in the season he tells Karen he likes the sound of her voice.
