The conversations between Matt and Father Lantom are one of the highlights in this series for me. Also Fisk fights Daredevil for the first time! His fighting style is so cool. And we'll definitely see more of both down the line!

The dialogue in this show is great. When he tells Karen at the bar "I think I've had enough" you would immediately think he's talking about booze, but he's actually convinced himself that he needs to kill Fisk. Great writing.

I really wouldn't recommend watching all the Netflix shows. Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Punisher are actually pretty damn good. Luke Cage is okay, and Iron Fist is just hurtful to watch. If you want to stick to Daredevil you can go Daredevil S1- Daredevil S2- Defenders - Daredevil S3. The other characters apart from Matt get just enough introduction on Defenders so you just don't really need to watch their respective shows (don't get me wrong, you'll know the characters much better if you do, but it's not 100% mandatory) This is not like watching 6 episodes on D+ as with the recent shows, these ones are much longer, and they're definitely a time sink if you want to see them all.

I’m really glad your enjoying this show Natalie, it nice to see your interest and investment to this character, the early MARVEL tv shows were a lot better than people than people made out to be, just because it wasn’t MCU didn’t mean there not valid, and again maybe when you’re done with this franchise you give AGENT CARTER a look.

Loving your reaction to the series so far! Two things to note: remember that Matt can tell when someone is lying. Because of that he knew Stick had actually killed Black Sky, and the Junkie actually killed Ms Cardenas even though he was denying it at first. Also, Matt's sense of touch is also enhanced so he doesn't need braille to read as he can just feel the raised ink on paper. Because of that he was able to "read" the blueprints on the table before the fight with Nobu. Keep it up Natalie! Happy 4th!

I personally find both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage far more enjoyable than Daredevil. DD is probably the most solid show from a technical standpoint but the characters in the other shows just appeals to me a lot more

Honestly Jessica Jones season 1 is really the only other daredevil-less show you need to watch, it’s amazing and introduces 2 more of the Defenders - after that Daredevil season 2 pretty much explains the villains from Iron Fist, then onto Defenders, and finally Daredevil S3 💛 Can’t wait to see whatever you decide in the future Nat!! x

Luke Cage, The Punisher & Iron Fist I definitely see as largely separate side project shows that can be perused at leisure sometime in the future.

OK, so, Daredevil is great but you do need to watch the defenders between season 2 and 3 (it's like season 2.5 of Daredevil and S3 follows on from it). You don't NEED to watch the others, but they do intro the characters. S1 of Jess Jones is great (David Tennant is a fantastic villain) and introduces 2 of the other 3 Defenders. Iron Fist will mean you have fuller idea of the characters and the story as a whole, but... well... S1 isn't great (which is sad because it does pick up in S2). Luke Cage can be watched separately without any real impact from the other shows (although Iron Fist does show up in S2). Punisher is very much it's own thing, but extremely recommended to watch because, although it's kinda gory, the acting from Jon Bernthal is perfect (but you'll see that in S2 of Daredevil)

Ngl this rewatch has really shown me how bloated these 13 episode seasons are. I love daredevil but god this would be ten times better as a 8 episode season....i could care less about foggy and karen and i just forget how much screen time is wasted on stuff that has nothing to do with the main story. I love daredevil but hopefully we get a little breather after this season

2026-09-06 12:00 Season 1 has quite a few good episodes, this is one of my favorites. The fight between Matt & Nobu + the conversations between Matt & the priest are real standouts, incredibly well scripted and acted, and the choreography and stunts for the fight are really stellar.

That scene with Father Lanton telling the story of the Rwandan warlord is what made him one of my favorite characters of the whole series. When I watch that scene I'm glued to the screen just like in Jaws when Quint is telling the story of the USS Indianapolis.
