Happy Tatooine Tuesday Nat 😊 Excited for more Star Wars on your channel, and looking forward to seeing what you make of this show. The Leia chase scene was definitely silly and deserved the Nattie eyeroll. Besides that though, it is entertaining enough and your reaction was fun. You can see how Yoda gets to Dagobah in a scene that was deleted from Ep.3. He arrives in an escape pod. Looking forward to tomorrow's show. Thanks for a cool video today Nat 💛

Corissa K

This is perfect timing, I JUST sat down with my lunch at work. I cannot wait to watch you dive into this show! I know some people are more vocal with their negative opinions, but genuinely I loved this show in terms of character development and story arc.

Joshua Kon

For me, this was really the only somewhat positive episode of this series. Afterwards we drop heavily, heavily in writing quality. Definitely a series to turn the brain off for

Jenny Chalek

Who's brian? And why are we turning him off?

WhoIsLinus

If your planning to watch Mando Season 3 some time when it comes out you should definitely watch Boba Fett before hand.

Jenny Chalek

When you were talking about Boba Fett, the main reason (imo) to watch it is that you sort of get season 2.5 of the Mandalorian in it. So if you like Mando, watch like the last 3 episodes of BF.

Randee Carreno

Happy Tuesday, Natalie! 😊 This 100% just made my day!!! I know there were mixed reactions to this show. But I loved it!!! I think the biggest surprise was that we got the story revolving more around Obi-Wan and Leia. Which I loved! We knew that Luke spent the entire time on Tattooine. So, it was nice seeing what was going on with Leia. Seeing Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen back as Obi-Wan and Vader was fantastic. And even seeing Jimmy Smits back as Bail Organa was amazing. And that actress that plays young Leia was perfect in the role. Carrie Fisher(RIP always) would've loved what Vivien Lyra Blair did with the role. Think I'm going to watch this reaction right away today. LOL! By the way, if you don't want to watch all of "The Book of Boba Fett", at least watch the last three episodes. Otherwise, you'll be so confused on something important when you watch season 3 of "The Mandalorian". Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Ben Wheeler

I would say you could probably skip Boba Fett except it's like 2/3 Boba Fett and 1/3 Mandalorian and it may be confusing going straight to Mando s3

Axel Dietze

About Boba Fett... let me just say that it is somewhat integral to the story progress for Mando and the Child.

Joshua Kon

Really just need to watch the last 3 episodes of Boba fett to get mando. Outside of those 2 mando episodes the series is a big pile of poo

Degenerick

Yeah so about boba fett , he isnt a new character from mandolorian. He was introduced in the empire strikes back, hes an old character

Patrick

If you enjoyed Mandalorian and are planning on watching the next season when it comes out, you definitely have to watch Boba Fett. Mando’s story moves forward in pretty big ways in Boba Fett, so you’d be lost if you just went into the next season of Mandalorian without watching it

xela

the chase scene! hahaha i completely agree, no stakes and it just felt like a playful "i'm gonna get yoooouuu!". i saw someone's re-edit of the scene and it's just the bag being put over her head right before she started running lol way more accurate. so excited to watch the rest of the season with you!!!

Arronax06

Like others said, the last 3 episodes of the first season of The Book of Boba Fett are basically a season 2.5 of The Mandalorian. So, it might need to be seen to continue The Mandalorian later :)

Fostena

I will not follow you on this one, Nat. I already watched this series, because of peer pressure alone, and is so underwhelming I don't want to watch it again. In retrospect, the chase scene is one of the few sequences that was genuinely entertaining to watch.

Jason

agree. or even only watch ep.5 and 6. They are totally Mandalorian spin-off episodes ( Boba Fett just showed up for 20 seconds lol)

Jayson Phillips

Trivia note: When Carrie Fisher was 10 she had a pet bird named LoLa =) also the actor watching Leia is Flea from RHCP!

SquaredSpekz

Okay. Mando is in Boba, that's why.

Rev.J

When they announced Obi-Wan Kenobi I was so excited. Then there were leaks that the show was going to be quite dark, it really piqued my interest. But from the get go, the Benny Hill style Leia chase for example, I became so disappointed as the season played out. After which Disney started coming out with excuses to counter negative fan reactions. Poor writing, rushed production (and like Book of Boba Fett*), with a director (Deborah Chow) who did solid episodes in The Mandalorian – she dropped the ball running an entire series. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni need to have a much tighter grip with the Star Wars franchise moving forward. The day that Kathleen Kennedy’s contract runs out can’t come soon enough. As to BoBF, there’s Mandalorian appearances (which are the best bits of the series) that are too good to miss. *Robert Rodriguez directed an excellent ep of The Mandalorian and then messed up Book of Boba Fett (the best episodes of which don’t even have Boba in them).

Florian Hoyer

i disagree i liked the boba series alot

Florian Hoyer

people hate on boba series way to much , same this series, i loved both series. people hate for just the reason to hate ... its not 100% like they want it so its horrible, its sad but the star wars community is sadly one of the worst out there xD alot of crybabies hating xD

Florian Hoyer

leia is TEN years old ... they said "ten years after" so she must be 10 not 6 xD

Jenny Chalek

I'm also Team Leia Shouldn't Have To Apologize. Just so you know.

jamie jones

You say favreau and filoni need to have a much tighter grip, but they had full control over boba fett and that was the shittiest thing star wars has done thus far. Favreau wrote the entire series ffs with exception of one episode written by favreau and filoni which filoni directed.

jamie jones

I agree star wars fan can be some of the most toxic. However, The book of boba was shit because they threw away the actual character and made him something brand new. He went from a ruthless bounty hunter who had to be warned about not committing unnecessary disintegrations who never takes off his helmet to a sympathetic, caring leader who never wears his helmet. That on top of a subpar plot. Its like they knew they were making a shit show so they rebooted it half way through the season and made it mandalorian 2.5.

Brian Jones

I just can't with this show. It was too awful to watch the first time around. Between the horrible acting, bad CGI, and completely idiotic writing, I would almost hope Disney never touches a Star Wars project again. I at least hope you can find some enjoyment in it though. I'll be sitting this series out.

Philip Davetas

I usually have to think for a minute before posting about STAR WARS. There are too many zealots that get angry when someone talks negative about STAR WARS or even when STAR WARS is legitimately bad. But I barely made it through this episode to the point where I just could no longer continue. I struggled through BOOK OF BOBA FETT/MANDO 2.5. While I am looking forward to MANDO 3, I can't sign on with another OBI WAN season or even ANDOR. I loved ROGUE ONE, but Andor was my least liked character. STAR WARS needs a Kevin Feige. Everyone is trying to be the next MCU, but they're trying to do it at such a rushed pace.

Steve J

agreed BoBF felt pretty flat. I thought it started pretty strong and was curious about where they were going, but then devolved to a show about him standing around being told by other people what to do/think.

Steve J

to be fair, the actress does seem quite young. Checking now she was barely 10 at the time the show released, so was probably closer to 8 during filming. My daughter is 10 and even she had a hard time believing Leia came off as a 10 yr old.

Steve J

Can guarantee they will be making SW content until after we are all dead and gone.

Brian Jones

Agree with you wholeheartedly, except for the last bit. Kevin Feige has been slipping lately, and the MCU is on a downswing. Between the loss of the Russo brothers, and Markus and McFeely, it's been a pretty rough ride throughout phase 4. After Gunn finishes Guardians 3 he's out as well. So all the old school talent that produced some of the best Marvel content up through Endgame are now gone. And boy does it show.

Brian Jones

Oh I have no doubt they will be.... But at the rate they are mucking up the quality and ruining the integrity of the legacy characters, the franchise will be worth even less than they've already devalued it. Hell, it just lost HEAVILY against Stranger Things. Think about that. Star Wars, one of the most beloved IP's on the planet, with a show that was showcasing one of it's most beloved characters in the series, just lost out in viewership to a franchise that only sprung up in the last ten years and was coming off it's worst season ever. If that's not a indicator of what Disney has done to Star Wars, I don't know what is. The writing is on the wall.

Christopher

If you plan on watching Mando season 3, some important things happen toward the end of Boba Fett. It literately has an all Mando episode and heavy features from other characters and sets up Mando season 3

James Fisher

New member just rewatched all The Mandalorian eps with the full reactions they were better than the first time. But you really need to watch THE BOOK OF BABA FET. If it has not been said yet baba fet really is not a spin off its season 2.5. And if you do not watch it before season 3 you will be lost. God I'm really tempted to spoil it just to get you to watch it . But I'm not. which should sort of give a hint how important this is.

Daniel Vezina

Can't wait she finishes the show so I can destroy it without spoilers.

Kraackin

this show is Le Garbage

Austin

Get ready for the toxic ass, ever complaining star wars "fans" to flood your comments with their negative opinions. This show is fine and enjoyable, people seem to forget Star Wars has always been goofy and sometimes messy. If you didn't enjoy the show, no one here is forcing you to rewatch it, and the best part is clearly those who "hate" this show have obviously never actually seen a really bad film or show, you can not like something but that doesn't mean it's actually as bad as you drama queens like to make it out to be. Stop fucking complaining about everything disney produces, and if you can't, don't watch disney produced media, save us all the headache of having to listen to you all bitch for the next decade.

PandaLeHey

Can't appease star wars nerds they'll always find something to cry about. This show was fine. Much like Mando it's just Lone Wolf and Cub the remix.

Dooly

Exactly. Everyone should have your opinion or be labeled toxic.

Brian Jones

It was FAR from "fine", but if you enjoy it, more power to you. No need to casually blow off or belittle legitimate criticism of the show though. God knows there's a literal shit-ton of it to be had. And considering the viewership numbers and ratings, it's clear there is quite a bit of the fanbase that were unhappy with the show.

Brian Jones

The only "toxic" person I see here is you. Why belittle legitimate criticism? The writing for this show was godawful. And that's being generous. Never mind some of the horrible acting, poorly staged scenes, bad CGI and effects work, subpar color grading, and outright abysmal direction. Now if you liked it, more power to you. But it certainly doesn't make anyone "toxic" for pointing out the obvious. Hence why one of the most anticipated shows involving one of the most beloved Star Wars characters took such a huge beating in it's reviews and viewership. Like much of Disney Star Wars, it further divided the fanbase. The one thing people like yourself seem to be completely incapable of seeing is that WE ALL want Star Wars to be both good and successful. Even us "toxic" people. The difference is, some of us don't blindly consume said content without being willing to point out the blatant flaws in the work.

Brian Jones

@Luis Santos But that's the point, you never needed to make Fett a hero at all. He never needed redeeming. This universe has always had a dark and seedy side to it. Fett was the perfect character to explore that with and Disney, through shit writing and development, dropped the ball. And then they went on to REALLY screw the pooch on Kenobi. At this point I'd say that poor pooch has seen more action than a Taiwanese hooker during shore leave. :)

Opticblasting3

lol nah, it was a cheap, lazy production with janky fights and barren characters

Corey Hughes

I'm not on board with this marketing scheme where you blend multiple shows together to obligate people to keep watching your productions. I'll watch Mando S3 and if it doesn't make sense I won't watch Mando S4, lol.

jamie jones

Brian you keep mentioning viewship numbers, but the obiwan finale drew 1.8 million. I believe the disney plus record is 1.9 million for loki. For reference, the mandalorian season 2 finale had 1.1 million. So, yeah.

warcrimes

Your last paragraph nailed it.

warcrimes

numbers = quality amirite?

Brian Jones

Jamie, it's perspective. Of course one of the most beloved IP's specifically showcasing one of it's most beloved characters SHOULD be clobbering Loki, not losing by 100,000 viewers. Even funnier is that Loki of all things, is sitting 25%+ higher in ratings than Kenobi on RT. And even more telling still, is that it fell from it's premiere (2.14 million) down to that 1.8 million number by the end. But again, it's perspective. This isn't just about how many eyes are initially on it either. This is about the health of a franchise, it's re-watchability, and how well it was received. We could start with the viewer ratings. The longer the show ran, the farther they dropped. So much so that even Disney went into damage control mode prior to the premier and doubled down hard over the following weeks as the clear signs of negative reviews and more splintering of the fanbase became widely apparent. They also lost HUGE to Stranger Things. Let's put this in perspective. Disney, with one of the most beloved and popular IP's on the planet, and a series that was specifically about one of the most beloved characters in said franchise that should have appeal to 4 generations of viewers, lost out to an IP that only came along in the last decade and was coming off it's worst season ever. So.... yeah.

jamie jones

“And even more telling still, is that it fell from it's premiere (2.14 million) down to that 1.8 million number by the end.” Every single streaming show loses viewers from premiere to finale. And it shouldve clobbered loki? Have you been lost the past decade? Marvel has grown into the biggest IP in existence. And i cant seem to find viewership numbers for stranger things, just total minutes watched. I’m not even agreeing or disagreeing with your opinion on obi wan, just the logic youre using to prove your point.

Philip Davetas

I think there are a lot of issues with Phase 4. While I do enjoy the films individually, as a unifying whole it doesn't have stakes because of the multiverse. I suppose the multiverse was inevitiable once you start time traveling, but now you can copy and paste variants from other universes so there's no stakes to killing off a character. I think they could've just made seperate movies that didn't have to interlock with each other and the Disney+ shows. And that's the other thing. I don't really love all the Disney+ Marvel content. I haven't even watched half of them. I'm not saying they aren't good or I won't like them, but there's just so much for me to catch up on that there's not enough time for me to watch everything. Quite honestly, I'd rather watch THE BOYS than Disney content. I just feel that Marvel just thinks we're gluttons for all this without giving us time to digest the meal. I mean, they launched MS. MARVEL and OBI WAN almost on top of each other. I don't know. Maybe that's the shape of things to come. Pretty soon, everything will just be 2-second flashes of light that we just giggle at and move on.

Brian Jones

"And it shouldve clobbered loki? Have you been lost the past decade? " - Clearly I'm in a place clearheaded enough to understand that a franchise with 4 generations of fans, doing a show centered around one of it's most popular characters, should easily outpace any Marvel spinoff show. And it did. It was literally their record setting show on it's premiere by a country mile, prior to it's sharp decline in ratings. Stranger Things on the other hand, mind you it's in it's fourth season and coming off it's worst, literally smashed the all time viewing record for Netflix. Because THAT is what happens when a show is successful and well received. It increases it's numbers throughout it's run due to word of mouth. Which hey, good for Netflix as they were in dire need of some positive spin for their service. In regards to viewership, Disney isn't forthcoming with their exact numbers (kind of makes since with how hit or miss they've been with both the Marvel IP and Star Wars IP). Just google the Nielsen ratings. Between that, the sharp decrease in viewer review percentages, the clear falloff between the premiere and the finale, and the hilariously over the top damage control and spin that surrounded that shows run, the record pretty much speaks for itself. You would have to kind of be in some serious denial to not have noticed the backlash pretty much everywhere on social media as well. This isn't rocket science jamie.🤷

Kev Martin

The complaining about Book of Boba Fett seems to ignore the fact that it is all just part of the Mandalorian saga. One big story, of which the Boba Fett series is just a series of chapters. Personally I loved what they did with it and for me it stands up in its own right anyway, But if you're watching The Mandalorian anyway, I'd absolutely recommend including the Book Of Boba Fett in your watching, between S2 and S3 of Mando. It seems highly likely that future series (e.g. Ahsoka) will also be part of the same joint saga. Suggestions that you should "only watch the last 3 episodes" etc are frankly terrible ideas. The events of the last 3 events are completely set up in the first episodes. It's hard to go into it any further without spoilers, but I think its simply that some people didn't care for the narrative (while many others thought it was fantastic). I'm really disheartened by the "you should only watch MY favourite episodes/series mentality". Its unfair to the prospective viewer, and does a disservice to the creators. Let people make their own choices - there's such a big gap between "I didn't like it" and "You shouldn't watch it (because I didn't like it)".

J.C.G.

Or, it could be that "toxic" fans aren't aware that what they have, are opinions, not facts, concerning Star Wars properties. Brain states in a factual manner how terrible aspects of the show are, which is clearly a matter of his opinion, one that is not shared by others. So they state the show is bad, and discounts the opinions of others that enjoyed it as coming from people that are "blindly" consuming it, invalidating their opinion as factually wrong, and it is this rejection in whole of differing opinion, that is toxic. This doesn't cut both ways unfortunately, as Brian is wrong in in stating that ALL "fans" want Star Wars to be good and successful. There is a very real contingent of bigots that have attached themselves to all aspects of pop culture in an effort to advance, and normalize, their bigotry. When your opinion aligns with that of bigots, it falls on you to be clear and concise with your criticisms to separate legitimate critique from bigoted dog whistling - it is not fair that more work is going to be required for sharing, and feeling that you have to defend, that opinion. But let's face it, bigots and their bigotry ruin everything for everyone, every time.

Brian Jones

While I wouldn't personally wish Book of Boba Fett on my worst enemy, I do agree with you that if you're going to watch it, don't screw around piecemealing it, just watch the whole thing. While I have tons of problems with the show, it's integral to continuing on with The Mandalorian (which at the moment, is the only thing Star Wars that Disney really has going for them). And it's not the insane time sink like the Netflix/Marvel shows would have been. It could be knocked out in a month of casual weekly episodes. While I wouldn't personally watch it again, maybe Nat might find it as enjoyable as you did.

J.C.G.

Brian, you're being a little fuzzy in your logic here. Stranger Things S4 has done better than anything else on Netflix, but your attributing things you just don't know to your argument - claiming that more people watched the show as it went on, though none of us have access to numbers of individual viewers, or how that is spread between the specific episodes - 120 million people could have only watched the first episode alone and quit and it would give us those same numbers - we all know that didn't happen, but the point is that Stranger Things could, and probably, does share the viewership drop off over episodes that most all shows have (particularly Netflix-style binge shows). People watch the first episode, those that like it continue to episode 2, those that don't, don't continue, so the numbers drop off. If Disney, and apparently Netflix, aren't that forth coming with their viewership numbers, how can you make a case for either their success or failure rates, neither argument can be supported. I would argue that such hesitancy towards transparency has more to do with efforts to control market speculation than it being an indicator of quality on either service. I did as you suggested and googled the Nielsen ratings and there are some key element that you did not present, Stranger Things and Kenobi are measured by minutes watched, the week that Stranger Things released, they released 7 episodes (536 minutes) and Obi-wan had two episodes released (100 minutes), and Stranger Things has 3 seasons of previous material, and those seasons were included in the total number of 'minutes' watched that week for the show. If every person watched, and enjoyed all of both series, Stranger Things would still have more 'minutes viewed' simply because of length. According to the Nielsen piece, the new episodes of Stranger Things in the first week accounted for 4 billion views, while Kenobi got 1 billion. If every person watched Stranger Things in its entirety also watched Kenobi, in its entirety, Kenobi would have only gotten 746 million views.

Brian Jones

This isn't a state secret guys, I strongly suggest you work on your google skills. https://variety.com/vip/stranger-things-vs-obi-wan-kenobi-measuring-summers-streaming-showdown-1235301145/ https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/stranger-things-vs-obi-wan-kenobi-who-won-the-ratings-war/ Also, I never said I had definitive proof that stranger things increased it's viewership across the entire season. But what I do have is Netflix showing that it crossed the billion hours viewed mark and set an all time viewing record for the service as the most watched TV show or movie. I also have the social media buzz and critical ratings as well as how much positive feedback (or negative in the case of Obi-Wan) to further back what is a pretty obvious conjecture at this point. Again, just as Obi-Wan sparked a literal shit-ton of controversy throughout it's run, Stranger Things did quite the opposite in both it's critical ratings and reviews. One more time for the cheap seats. This isn't rocket science.🤦

J.C.G.

Quoted from each of the articles you provided - "But simply comparing the two shows’ viewing time is not an adequate metric in this case. “Stranger Things,” after all, had seven new episodes available to watch in its premiere weekend, with runtimes ranging from 63 to 100 minutes; “Obi-Wan” had only two, both under an hour long." "While Disney hasn’t released the exact number of hours, it’s almost certainly significantly less than Netflix. This goes back to the fact that Stranger Things was released with over 7 hours of content compared to Kenobi’s runtime for episodes 1 and 2 which is under 2 hours." Perhaps you are looking at this excerpt: "For that reason, Nielsen also calculated “total viewers in the average minute” of both shows’ premiere episodes. “Stranger Things” had the edge here as well, with 12.7 million viewers in its first episode’s average minute, versus 11.2 million for “Obi-Wan.”" That seems to show Stranger Things performing a degree better than Obi-Wan in viewership, but 12.7 million is 5% of Netflix's 222 million membership total, and 11.2 million is 8% of Disney's 129.8 million membership - the truth here is that we are comparing apples and oranges when talking specifically about viewership rates.

Jason

Nat, even though you might not plan to watch the boba Fett show. But I think it is still good to watch at least ep.5-7 (5 and 6 are great. sadly almost no Boba at all in that two episodes lol), in order to catch up on the storyline of Mandalorian.

Ortizmo

Oh lord have effin mercy. The Book of Boba Fett was amazing. I swear, there’s nowhere to go to escape the fanboys. 🙄

Brian Jones

@J.C.G. - "Quoted from each of the articles you provided - "But simply comparing the two shows’ viewing time is not an adequate metric in this case. “Stranger Things,” after all, had seven new episodes available to watch in its premiere weekend, with runtimes ranging from 63 to 100 minutes; “Obi-Wan” had only two, both under an hour long."" Which is why they both used multiple metrics to measure it. Did you even read the articles? This conversation has become laughably ridiculous at this point. There's really only three options here, you're either in total denial of reality, trolling your little heart out, or extremely obtuse.😂 No matter which of the three it is, we're clearly done here as the evidence has been presented. Have a good one.

SmokeAndACoffee

Book of Boba Fett is basically Mandalorian season 2.5 (it's still really great on it's own though), so would be a perfect series to watch in the weeks before season 3 of Mando comes out

Brian Jones

@J.C.G. - Every single thing I stated was objectively true. You're welcome to deny it, you can love the show despite it's flaws, but they aren't opinion. There are glaring errors in the writing (actual logical inconsistencies, gaps, and completely nonsensical character decisions). Hell, the entire premise of the show makes absolutely no sense given the main characters motivations, previous story arc, purpose, and just general canon. There are glaring errors in the direction (from the way some fight scenes are staged and filmed, to the poor color pallet/grading used that makes some scenes dark to the point of ridiculousness). There are glaring errors in the CGI and effects work (to the point that it doesn't even measure up to it's own franchise and makes The Mandalorian look like a masterpiece). Now you can disagree or remain in denial about them all you like, but they are clearly there and countless other "toxic" or "bigoted" people have pointed them out. And one or more are in every single episode. "discounts the opinions of others that enjoyed it as coming from people that are "blindly" consuming it" I never discounted the opinions in the slightest. In fact, I've pointed out in almost every comment I've made that if you enjoyed the show, despite it's obvious flaws, good for you. It's the denial of said objective flaws and petty and vapid name calling from you that's so amusing. "There is a very real contingent of bigots that have attached themselves to all aspects of pop culture" Those are still fans, and I'm pretty sure they all hope Star Wars improves as an IP. The only reason YOU don't think they are fans is because YOU disagree with them. And no amount of labeling them "toxic" or "bigots" makes either of those empty smears true. It just means you lack the ability to defend the obvious flaws they are pointing out and feel you have to resort to petty name calling to make yourself feel like you've achieved some sort of moral victory. Again, like your denial of the obvious flaws, it's quite amusing to watch. Here, I'll give you an example. Would you call The Critical Drinker of YouTube fame a "bigot"? How about Grace Randolph? Two quite notable critics from completely opisite ideological viewpoints, both who saw and pointed out the flaws in the show. So tell me, are they "toxic"? "Bigots"? See how that nonsense just falls apart at the seems?

jamie jones

Critical drinker is definitely misogynistic. That cant really be argued.

Brian Jones

"Pretty soon, everything will just be 2-second flashes of light that we just giggle at and move on." Kind of what I feel like Marvel has already become. Leaving the theater on opening weekend of Thor Love and Thunder, my friends and I all looked at each other with the "what the hell was that?" face. And all agreed that Marvel has basically become a parody of itself at this point. But I do agree with you about The Boys, and season 3 was an improvement over what I thought was a lackluster but not bad season 2. There is most certainly better content out there than either the Marvel or Star Wars productions are offering. I also agree that the connected universe that Marvel has created for themselves is rapidly unraveling and stepping on itself. There's no unified direction anymore, tonally the films are scatterbrained to the point of the characters not even feeling like they belong in the same universe, and the whole franchise feels like a ship without a rudder. But all of that goes back to the writing and directorial talent that did such a superior job with those exact things in the prior phases, and the subsequent loss of said writing and directorial talent.

john collins

I've been waiting to watch this one with you! I'm really excited you picked this!

J.C.G.

personally, I love the "bigots are still fans" argument and that somehow disagreeing with bigots is a bad thing.

Brian Jones

@jamie jones Know him personally, do you jamie?🙄🤦

Brian Jones

@J.C.G. I guess we can add disingenuous to your list of interesting character traits as well. YOU labeled them "bigots", not me. I don't even know who you're labeling as a "bigot" as you were completely unspecific. Just nonchalantly throwing out smears at nameless people you simply have a disagreement with. Which certainly leads one to believe you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Steve SG-1

My prediction is that I think Natalie will actually enjoy Book of Boba Fett more than Obi-Wan when it's all said and done.

PandaLeHey

Numbers always matter to upper echelon says nothing of quality. Regardless, the show was fine/ok like every other Star Wars show.

jamie jones

Brian, why the fuck would i need to know him personally? In his videos he says very blatantly misogynistic things consistently. Unless your implying he’s openly misogynistic yet in private he's a closeted non-misogynist.

J.C.G.

Brian, my word choice was very careful and deliberate because I do not know you, and didn't want to imply you, or anyone, is a bigot, simply because you share opinions with those bigots amongst the fandom. My larger point remains, that when sharing opinions with bigots who are merely trying to advance their wrongheaded viewpoint, its up to you to distinguish what you believe are valid opinions from straight up bigotry - again, not fair, but that's the way it is. You have articulated some of your issues pretty well, but you have again presented them as immutable truths of the media, and not as your own opinions, and this is why this is viewed as toxic behavior. You state that people can like the show if they want, but imply it is a failing on their part somehow, because again, you have decided the truth of the subjective worth of the show, and if other opinions exist, they are just wrong.

I doubt you will add anything that hasnt already been vomited up by the other legion of haters

REDR58

This series is generally a painful slog for me and i cannot bring myself to watch it again, even for the reaction. I think BOBF is far superior even with its problems.

Brian Jones

@jamie jones - Would you like to share an example of this jamie? This should be highly entertaining considering his videos are literally done in the character of a drunk Scotsman reviewing movies through humor. Please enlighten us on what he specifically said that was "misogynistic".😂🤦

Brian Jones

"because you share opinions with those bigots amongst the fandom" What "bigots" would you be referring to then? Who specifically? You were basically attempting to smear through mere association, which is easily just as bad and quite pointless, as criticizing the show for it's faults isn't "bigoted" in the slightest. "but imply it is a failing on their part somehow" Nope.... Never did. Not once.

jamie jones

Lol i bet you think tucker carlson also isn’t racist or misogynistic either do you? The critical drinker uses a scottish persona because he is scottish. But his reviews are still that, reviews, and they are heavily misogynistic. He attacks women personally not just for their performances. Something he reserves just for women. He also leans heavily into sexist tropes during his rants. He said women aren’t appealing in film unless you sexualize them since they aren’t as strong as men and people want to see sexy women, he body shames women constantly such as natalia dyer from stranger things, he constantly refers to strong women as ‘mary sue’s’, he attacked brie larson for starting a youtube channel without stating why simply cause he loves to attack brie on a personal level and has done so many time, im not gonna continue cause ive made my point. You can pretend this is all under the guise of jokes and a persona but thats BS. You clearly support his views but also understand being labeled misogynistic is bad so you’re getting defensive. You do you. Im done with this. Have a good one.

Daniel Vezina

Sorry, but not sorry to not have the same opinion on this piece if garbage as you. It's the most useless piece of "entertainment" ever produce, all it did was fuck up everything. Even our dear content creator is starting to figure this out.

Brian Jones

"Lol i bet you think tucker carlson also isn’t racist or misogynistic either do you?" Do you even contemplate how absurd you sound before you start typing? Now you're moving the goalposts away from the show and it's critics, and on to political commentary hosts? WTF dude?😂 "The critical drinker uses a scottish persona because he is scottish." A DRUNK and quite sarcastic Scottish persona. You do understand humor, right? It's literally a shtick.😂 "He attacks women personally not just for their performances." Who? When? "He said women aren’t appealing in film unless you sexualize them since they aren’t as strong as men" That's absurd. The guy has pointed out countless examples of strong female characters from multiple franchises (Terminator, Aliens, Star Wars, etc.). Ironically, Leia being one of them (at least in the OT), and none of which were "sexualized". You're just making shit up at this point jamie.😂 "he constantly refers to strong women as ‘mary sue’s’" No, he refers to Mary Sue's as Mary Sue's. You're aware it's a writing trope, right? Sadly one that's far too common these days. You're also aware he's a writer? Part of the reason why the guy is as insightful and popular as he is.🙄 "he attacked brie larson for starting a youtube channel without stating why simply cause he loves to attack brie on a personal level" Again, when? He never said she shouldn't or couldn't create a channel. Where do you get this nonsense, aside from hyperbolically manufacturing it? I do distinctly remember him pointing out the absurd comments she made surrounding Captain Marvel. Which were most certainly absurd. This is you projecting.🙄 "You can pretend this is all under the guise of jokes and a persona but thats BS." Or, I can point out that you're inventing accusations because you didn't like his criticism. Had you paid more attention, he's explained countless times what the difference is between a strong and well written female character, and a Mary Sue. "You clearly support his views but also understand being labeled misogynistic is bad so you’re getting defensive." Again, more absurdity. I'm not defensive at all jamie. I have literally nothing to be defensive about. I've come to these conversations with nothing but factual information. What's highly amusing about this entire conversation is that the only way you can defend your position on any issue is by smearing people with falsehoods, moving goalposts, and manufacturing lies. You might want to take a beat and consider some self-examination jamie.🤔 "You do you. Im done with this." I don't doubt that you are. I would probably want to cut bait and run if I were just fallaciously making things up out of thin air as well.😂

how does it "fuck up everything" ? its story about an event that happened in those empty 20 something years between Luke and Leia's birth to the first Star Wars movie. it didnt recon anything that happened in the original trilogy and provided some additional stories about a few of the characters during those before now untold 20 some years. the major events that happened in the show are legitimate events that could have happened. (the child of an important politician being kidnapped is not that far fetched of an idea) a once major general in the clone wars and jedi master could have succumb to his self doubt and lose touch with the force if he spends several years cutting himself off from the force AND spending most of his time alone with only his thoughts and doubts to linger on. a padawan could have survived order 66 and grow up to become an agent of the new empire (and during her training could have found information about the leaders of the new empire and become fixated on getting revenge on someone they believe who could have stopped all that from happening. Not to mention we get to see vader in his prime. full of rage and hate for his old master and wanting to hunt him down with extreme prejudice to the point of getting tunnel vision on it. so what if some of the scenes are cheesy or comical. nothing is going to be 100% perfect. especially with the benefit of hindsight after the show was made. some scenes can be cheesy / bad and you can still enjoy the show as a whole. Its a good story about an event that happened in the long 20 something time span. people love to hate on anything star wars that doesnt fit into there vision of what star wars should be and are more then happy to practically rage to the point that makes actors regret even being in the films. The Star Wars fandom has some of the most toxic gate keeping bigoted fans of any other fandom (including Star Trek) who cant wait to wear down there keyboards spewing hate and tossing out opinions as facts just because it gives them a chance to rage without worrying about real world repercussions.

Daniel Vezina

Sometimes I envy people like you. I wish I knew nothing about Star Wars too, that way brain wouldn't hurt as much when I see CANON getting trash in my face.

John

I was thinking the same thing. I dont even know if Id watch the shortened version on Youtube let alone the the full episode again.

John

Ive seen more people toxicly attack viewers who dislike the show than people disliking the show at this point. Watchers of the show will comment on how they dont like it, and what they dont like. And people like you attack the people who dont like the show. I wonder who seems like a more toxic person lol

Michael Rockenfelder

Bro seriously just called Stranger Things S3 the worst season ever when S2 was before that. All you gotta know about your credibility. Face the facts you just wanted Cameos and flashbacks like Supes instead of wanting an actual Story.

Michael Rockenfelder

Ah, you toxic fanboys turn your brains off when watching SW. Makes so much sense now when you don't understand anything in the series.

Michael Rockenfelder

So let's see here, you give full credit of Mandalorian to Favreau and Filoni, yet proceed to blame Kathleen for any of the shows you didn't like. Too bad for your narrative Kathleen is in charge of ALL OF IT. Yes, that INCLUDES Mandalorian. You don't get to pick and choose. Stop being a sexist idiot.

Michael Rockenfelder

Toxic clowns like you aren't even able to destroy a wet paper towel.

Michael Rockenfelder

Also, you clearly don't know anything about Star Wars. Your comments show as much.

Michael Rockenfelder

"objectively true" Take Objectively out of your vocabulary, because you clearly don't know how to use it.

Michael Rockenfelder

for someone that's "not being defensive at all", you're being pretty defensive about people calling you out on your bullshit.

Michael Rockenfelder

@Brian Jones And you just proved to everyone in those other comments, that you're the toxic one. Here we had someone saying they enjoyed it, and then here you come saying "No, you can't!" Like Fuck off.

Brian Jones

@Michael Rockenfelder - No Mike, I called it "it's worst season ever". Because in the context of Stranger Things, it was the lowest rated both critically and by audiences. Personally I quite enjoyed it despite it's flaws, but I find it funny that you think stating factual information is somehow a hit to my "credibility".🙄🤦 "Face the facts you just wanted Cameos and flashbacks like Supes instead of wanting an actual Story." I have no idea what you mean by this comment.😂

Michael Rockenfelder

Book of Boba Fett is fine, a couple episodes are definitely reaction worthy, the series as a whole? Eh, debatable. Obi-Wan is fantastic when you actually want a story and not just cameos and flashbacks constantly.

Joshua Kon

Im not a star wars fanboy, but someone who takes on a lot of shows/movies to review them. You got to turn your brain off because thats what the main characters do throughout. Reva, obi wan, vader grand inquisitor, and more literally make incredibly dumb decisions because the plot has to move forward. The amount of times people just walk away from their objective last second, when its literally complete right infront of them, is an insult to anyone watching the show.

Endling_king

Know nothing about Star Wars? Lol yeah ok. You obviously can't come up with a valid response to my comment so you try and deflect. Typical of the toxic fanbase.

DanFDTR

I know you said you don't have any plans to watch Book of Boba Fett but you might want to make sure you watch it before Mandalorian season 3 either in reaction form or on your own.

Daniel Vezina

The little red light, is actually a buried R-unit. Rey buried the lightsabers using the force, Ben had to dig his it up.

Brian Jones

@Michael Rockenfelder - "Here we had someone saying they enjoyed it, and then here you come saying "No, you can't!" Like Fuck off. " Why is it people like yourself are completely incapable of having a discussion without manufacturing lies about someone, or more specifically, putting words in their mouth? I said no such thing. In fact, if you read my very first comment in this thread, I said the exact opposite. Very edgy goodbye you have there Mike. Next time I suggest you get your facts straight before you use it.😂👍
