It's funny seeing Nat go from let's not slutshame girls, to acting like Nancy having sex is a massive deal that has to be discussed in detail with her parents.

David Lonewolf Wright

13 inch black and white tvs were still pretty common in the 80's, heck I had one until I bought a 19 inch color one with the money from my first job in the early 90's.

Darryl Low

Happy Thursday Nat. Looking forward to more Stranger Things. Your new camera is amazing. The picture is so good. No tissues again Nat. Oh Boy. You'll need to get your desk built soon so Koda can get his spot back on the sofa. Like you, there's so much of this I just don't remember, so it feels like a first time watch. "I prefer the mystery. I didn't want to go in there anyway." 😂 Thanks for a really great reaction today Nat 💛

Christopher Robles

Season 2 takes place during Halloween you should time it for october!

Patrick Egan

When Season Four came out, I did a rushed rewatch of the earlier seasons so I could refresh myself on the story so far. But I must say, it's been so fun going through these early episodes with you at a more deliberate pace. Your reactions have been so much fun(sorry about the knee!), I look forward to re-experiencing the rest of this show with you(whenever the future seasons fit best in your schedule, of course)!

ButtyOh

Did you actually just ask if they're in New Jersey? Or an "anonymous town". They say they're in a (fictional) Town in Indiana called Hawkins. The place is made up but the Duffer brothers say it's based on where they grew up in in North Carolina

Eve

Everyone is probably really excited for you to get to season 4 but I personally can't wait for season 3 :)

TheDude

Natalie, you should also watch the trailers for each season before you dive into them. The Duffer brothers excel at making trailers! Just an FYI!

Slaizio

I hope she is into season 4 by then.

Slaizio

the trailers are great, I agree. But they can spoil quite a bit especially the season 4 trailer spoils a lot.

Colton Matthews

trailers are good, In my opinion the spoilers just aren't worth it.

Fostena

Wait. You are telling me that people DO NOT live in my TV?

Fostena

I'm not hearing noise, but I am seeing some weird artifacts in the background, like moving blocky shadows and lights. Unless you set up a moving light, than is not an artifact but a choice :)

Fostena

Ok now I see that probably it was a strange light :D

Philip Davetas

I never thought people lived in the TV, but I never had anyone's picture in my room because I thought the real life versions of those people were watching me. And yet, now I have have two Echos in my pad that won't fucking shut up.

Rich House

Slightly odd prop design choice filling the body with cotton stuffing instead of something like a ballistics gel. Not an important detail in any meaningful way but the lab creating a sophisticated synthetic skin and stuffing it like a teddy bear doesn't seem inline with each other

Alex

lol, this is hilarious. I think everyone has a version of this from their childhood. As a kid I always thought artists would go around to different radio stations playing their songs live for the broadcast. Like in my mind there would be just a huge line of famous musicians waiting outside a room to play their song every day at every radio station. lol.

Myles Away

It's for the audience. It makes it clear right away what is happening. Film is often about what will get the point across without confusion rather than being perfectly accurate.

Marty McGee

Being from North Carolina, it does kind of capture that small town feel around here. Though I'm sure the same can be said of small towns anywhere. I remember growing up in a neighborhood where we all rode our bikes everywhere, explored the woods, built lean-to clubhouses, and we always wound up at that one friend's house who had the cool video games and toys.

Marty McGee

Haven't watched the reaction yet, but while downloading for later I could tell immediately your new camera got set up. Looks great! Hope it works out for you for a long time!

Myles Away

This show isn't really about jump scares. They're the cheapest sort of "scare" because they're not scary. They are temporarily startling and in fact bring you relief from the real fear which is the suspense of the moment.

Rich House

Yeah that makes sense. Though I would say I can't imagine anyone being confused if you put a bright blue gelatine substance instead of cotton stuffing, just found it kind of comical not really a complaint of the show.

Myles Away

Possibly but with all the other goopy things in the show it could still have people thinking it was some affect from the upside down. The bright white filler makes it very clear this is manmade synthetic stuff.

Ed Green

Plus it has the hilarious side effect of reminding me of the scene in Dad's Army when one character thinks another has no pulse and panics only to find that their shirt is stuffed with padding.

Steve SG-1

It can't be stated enough that these kid actors are just so good. The show wouldn't work if they were subpar, love this show.

Tony Sanson

*starts video* Somethings changed. Did Nat get a tan? New hair? Nat: Hey guys! New camera!! Ah...that'd be it. Looks great, didn't hear any noise from the lens so it's not too distracting I think. This is the first time re-watching since the series came out, and I'm enjoying picking up little things that get payoffs later. I'm glad it's just been the one jump scare for you and your knee.

Skizane

It might just be me, but Nat's audio was really quiet this time around; I could barely make out what she was saying with everything cranked up.

Inflightmuzik

The new camera is really nice! Loving the upgraded quality.

Skizane

They should have used Haribo sugar free gummy bears. Colorful, whimsical, and they provide a fun snack for the Sheriff character plus some comedy for the audience since the sugar free variant causes violent diarrhea if you eat more than a few ounces, so we'd get a humorous scene of the sheriff locking himself in the restroom at the station.

Marty McGee

Also I think the dead giveaway was that they supposedly did an autopsy, but there was no "y" incision to examine the organs. Maybe that's why Hopper decided to cut into it though. And yeah the cotton stuffing makes it real clear that we're to know it's fake without a doubt.

Marty McGee

This may be a mild spoiler, but not really since you've seen this season. There are a few more jump scares coming up. One in particular got me good. But, once the monster gets some real screen time, the jump scares aren't quite so bad.

Thomas Richter

thanks for buying this new camera for us to live in. I noticed the light bands in the background wall scrolling up, there must be some sync issues with the anti-banding config.

John

Damn I really forgot how much work Hopper puts into this. I havent rewatched it since it first premiered years and years ago. But I havent been respecting Hopper as much as I should have been lol

Cripkie

ive always pined for the tactile chemistry of classic photography. It is like the visual equivalent of vinyl records. digital is just too........perfect.

TheDude

I always thought that the flashes of scenes were shown too quickly to actually know what was happening. Minus some of the scenes in the first trailer for season 4. I will go back and watch them again. You guys could very well be right!

2026-09-06 12:00 Congrats on the new camera! Though I didn't even realize the earlier watchalongs were in 720p, because I have to shrink the viewing window to put it alongside the Netflix* window (* - Or Disney+, or Hulu, or whatever else) and my monitor's only 1080p total. (I've been meaning to upgrade.) Speaking of screens, I noticed you questioning the black-n-white TV at the police station; this was in 1983, and color TV's were still relatively expensive, smaller color TV's even moreso (for their size). So a lot of people needing smaller TV's made do with B&W ones. When I was growing up, my sister and I used to watch TV in the basement in black-n-white during the summer, and upstairs my parents would watch the big wooden color one. (Sidenote, I just did some Googling, and apparently they made black-and-white TV's into the early 90's, though almost exclusively small/portable ones. And one article in 1992 said that nearly half of U.S. households still owned a black-n-white TV [alongside their color one].)

Myles Away

My family had a black and white television in one room up until about 1993.

Steve

the main tv we used in our bedroom well into the 90s was an old black and whie zenith. i almost lost my shit when i first saw a 26" color tv...just impossible to comprehend.

Martin7777

You may be surprised at how inexpensive it can be to start from home. You can even make your first camera out of an old tin can and expose directly onto the paper, skipping the negative stage

MacGuffinStuff

It's hilarious how many times I'll watch a movie or show set in the 80s or 90s and I forget for a second, they don't have cell phones lol. And I'm not even a Millennial. I think Nat did that when she thought it was funny Mike's mom told Mike to call his dad at work if he needed something, instead of her, back in the 80s once you left the house you could give the number of a place you MIGHT be, but otherwise you were incommunicado, apart from people running into you saying, "hey, such-n-such called my house, said they're looking for you." Ah, ye good ole days.

2026-09-19 15:00 I had a little 13" b&w in my bedroom as a teenager. Had the rabbit ears for vhf and the circle antenna for uhf. Mostly used it for my atari. I was maybe 14 when we got a vcr and a remote controlled tv for the main room. It was maybe 26". My parents only did that because our old tv got fried by lightning and the homeowner's insurance paid up.

I was thinking that too. His dad would've been far more reachable than her. It's hard to believe that cell phones have only been around 15 years or so. I know they had been around before, but as far as being truly mobile, usable, and affordable it's been a relatively short period of time.

Signed up for Nat’s Patreon just for this show! I do have one question and it might end up getting answered later on in the season or series, but how come Will and Barb manage to exist in the other world but the Energy dudes have to wear a special suit to go in??

(DMC) Xander

Oh that's right!! I forgot they made the off-brand Will at the Build-A-Kid workshop!
