Happy Monday Nat. Hope you had a great weekend too. The Friday Kitty livestream was a lot of fun 😺 Looking forward to seeing what you make of these final 2 shows. You must of avoided it at the time, like you always do Master Spoiler Avoider, as you kept predicting the end for Reva. But the week this show aired, Disney made the daft decision to announce that Reva was getting her own show, therefore you automatically assume that she wasn't going to die in this series, and therefore all the stakes were gone. Kinda silly on their part 🤦‍♂️ Thanks for another fun reaction today Nat. Can't wait to see what you think of the finale tomorrow 💛

Randee Carreno

Happy Monday, Natalie! 😊 This is one of the episodes that I've been looking forward to your reaction to. Loved that we got to see Hayden Christensen back as Anakin in the flashback training scenes. The flashback scenes are definitely pre or during "Attack of the Clones" after they arrive back on Coruscant. Obi-Wan still has his Jedi mullet. And Anakin still has both hands. And I really loved they used those scenes as a way for Obi-Wan and Vader to look back on each other's strategies throughout this episode. Loved seeing how Leia volunteered to fix the doors after LOLA locked everyone in. It's kind of reminiscent of her working on the Falcon in "The Empire Strikes Back". I was so happy when I first watched this episode to see that Haja lived through Reva's interrogation in the second episode. We find out more about Reva's past. RIP Tala and NED-B. They gave the ultimate sacrifice so that Obi-Wan, Leia, Roken, Haja, and the others could get to safety. Loved the lightsaber fight between Vader and Reva. At first when I saw this episode, I thought foe sure it was going to be a repeat of Count Dooku when Vader broke the lightsaber in half. When it comes to the Grand Inquisitior being alive all this time, when promoting this show Rupert Friend, who plays the Grand Inquisitior, kinda let it slip that the Grand Inquisitior has two stomachs, and Reva only stabbed him in one. The ending to this episode is a great lead up to the last episode. The schedule for the week looks good. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Bou Sculpts

With all the great examples of VFX de-aging around, and they didn't even bother to do something with Hayden's face. I mean, he's not a granpa, but he's definitely not 20 anymore, and you can tell. Anyway, this episode and the next definitely raise the bar for the series. There are WAY less stupid situations.

Ben Wheeler

I really appreciate them keeping Obi-wan’s habit from the prequels of stroking his beard when he’s deep in thought

Jayson Phillips

Yeah the other de aging effects they used a look alike and this was Hayden by himself.

Sean

This is my least favorite of the series. The plot elements just don't make sense - Leia having the technical skills to fix the doors, Vader leaving Reva alive, Reva not immediately cutting through the door, etc. Vader fighting Reva was well correographed however which leads me to think they wanted that fight and struggled to make it happen.

Wex

I can’t believe that with everyone contributing their opinions about the VFX de-aging of Hayden Christensen, nobody is remarking about the incredible de-aging of Mark Hamill in that final scene where Luke is sleeping in a bed.

John

That was something Alec Guiness did that Ewan incorporated into his portrayal. I loved how he took so many of Alec's mannerism and made them part of his own portrayal.

Jam

Leia didn't need the skills she was literally looking for a red switch to move and yh a lot of force users especially dark siders don't think to cut through the door. Like they got troops, so make them do it lol.

Philippe Dessaints

Haha Nat makes a good point about who we knew for a fact were gonna survive. Even the grand inquisitor's survival was obvious since he's in Star Wars Rebels so yeah, the stakes are definitely super low in this series.

Bou Sculpts

I would agree, but this comes after Book of Boba Fett, and they showed you can actually get an astonishing de-aging while keeping a great performance and showing emotions. So... I'm sorry but you're wrong ;)

Jenny Tolls

Idk why a lot of people are complaining that the stakes are low since they know the main characters like Kenobi and Grand Inquisitior are gonna survive. Uuhhh did you not figure that before starting the show? Did y’all not realize that this takes place between episode 3-4 of the Star Wars saga? Why are y’all surprised? Lol

Bou Sculpts

Off screen dialog is a much better trick than praying to god hoping nobody will realize that's a 40 y/o dude playing a teenager.

Rich House

I'd be interested what someone doing a chronological watch through of Star Wars would think of this show. But I think a lot of this show seems to be playing on the stakes of certain situations we know the outcome of as opposed to focusing on namely more character moments. I think even people who dislike the show like the flash back to Obi-Wan and Anakin sparring, there's no life/death stakes there, we know character actions before and after it, and yet it's good as a development of them as characters.

Bou Sculpts

Dude stop being ridiculous. You're not on Lucasfilm's payroll. There's plenty homemade de aging of that scene in YouTube, done by amateurs that show that they could have done a much better job if they actually cared. And not losing a single ounce of the INCREDIBLE talent Hayden has. Because this doesn't have to be a complete reconstruction of his face as they did with Luke. Jeez, these Star Wars fan boys can ACTUALLY defend anything huh?

Bou Sculpts

Here you go. Even someone as blind as you should be able to accept this looks better by the mile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxIHXjCC91M Criticisim is fine my dude, that's what lead to that awesome de-aging in BOBF after the crappy one in Mandalorian S2.

Bou Sculpts

Those clips were made by a bored guy on his computer, I'm sure Lucasfilms and Disney has a bit more production power than that, don't they? Anyway, I've seen you defending so much shit about this show here that my fanboy detector has spiked. There's nothing of value to take out of this argument. Enjoy the worst rated Star Wars piece of content after the sequels. I guess people just enjoy hating Star Wars for no reason? I wonder what happened with Mandalorian then... Maybe that was actually a good show? Nah, it can't be that simple. Cya mate. Get better

Bou Sculpts

Yeah my dude, keep defending the big company. "They outsource it, so they are not accountable for the end result". Once you get to the real world and get a job, you'll see that's not how things work. I'll keep critizising mediocre products along with so many other people so that you can enjoy a better product tomorrow, don't worry ;)

Balkyne

I don't think it's that they didn't notice. They're just pointing out the a lot of scenes in this show require tension to be exciting, and there just is none because we know he lives

Troy

What Jai said. Nobody is surprised at when this takes place; they're surprised (and/or perhaps disappointed) that the bulk of the "suspense" involves main characters the writers can't mess with very much. Rogue One worked because almost nobody in that story needed to survive. Same with The Mandalorian. Obi-Wan's show should have focused on his growth -- and it did, in part. But so much of it was fixated on "Oh no! Will Leia be okay? Yeah, of course she will." or "Will Reva defeat Darth Vader? Of course not." It's a bunch of weirdly empty story questions.

Brian Jones

I'm honestly surprised it's the one thing that bothered you. While I agree the de-aging is pretty laughable and looks like complete dogshit, it was the least of the issues I had with this episode. Mind you Bou, I'm not laying all this at your feet, I'm just surprised the bad CGI de-aging was your only gripe. It was the whole 'sending a 10 year old to fix the hangar' thing that made me literally laugh out loud while watching it. Why? Because reasons?!? WTF does a 10 year old know about wiring a hangar? She couldn't even fix her own droid, Kenobi had to do it for her. But now she's a master mechanic and electrical engineer. Because fuck it, magical Leia plot armor.🤦 Or why didn't Vader just nuke the entire site from Orbit to begin with? And yeah, I already hear the apologists saying "he wanted to make the revenge personal, he wouldn't have been satisfied". Is that why he let the second ship go at the end?? Speaking of the second ship, that sort of makes the entire episode make no sense at all, but hey, at this point who cares, right?🤦 Or why did Reva, after having Obi-Wan dead to rights out in front of the base, all wrapped up in a bow for Vader, just allow him to be escorted off by two storm troopers right back into the REBEL CONTROLLED BASE?!?!?🤦 Or, speaking of the two ships, the ridiculousness of Vader grabbing a ship with the force and ripping it apart at the seems (horribly bad CGI by the way), all to just let the other one go without issue. Never mind the fucking star destroyer sitting in orbit that somehow couldn't just blow it out of the sky. 🤦🤦 Or Obi-Wan mindlessly leaving the magic answering machine behind with all the evidence anyone would ever need to track down the boy. Hell of a good job he's doing protecting Luke, am I right??? I guess answering machines don't have a delete button in the Star Wars universe.🤦🤦🤦 Or how Reva even survived as a youngling after getting stabbed through the gut. Or the grand inquisitor for that matter (again, I hear the apologists, the whole "alien biology" thing right? What about Reva?). Apparently lightsabers are now the Nerf bats of Star Wars. That or Qui-Gon was a huge pussy. You can't really have it both ways. 🤦🤦🤦 And why in the name of Yoda and all that is holy do Vader and the inquisitor leave Reva alive?? Like what in the actual f*ck was that??? Talk about the most out of character thing Vader does this entire show.🤦🤦🤦🤦 The writing on this show was just pure, hot, unadulterated garbage. But hey, when the entire show is a dumpster fire, you have to have hot garbage to fuel it, right?🙄

Brian Jones

"Jeez, these Star Wars fan boys can ACTUALLY defend anything huh?" Yep. They can. As laughable as it is, they certainly can.

Brian Jones

Oh FFS Luis, Obi-Wan literally just had to fix her droid for her. Give it up with the apologist bullshit.🤣😂🤣😂

Myles Away

Reva's motivation makes zero sense. It would have been so much better if she saw Anakin killing younglings, believed she saw the Jedi killing her friends, and then became enamoured with the imperial propaganda against the Jedi. She lives her life hunting and killing force sensitive people, only to learn through a conversation with Obi-Wan, that her leader and the person's approval she seeks is actually the man who killed her friends in front of her. The story as is makes no sense. This script feels like multiple drafts smashed together into a mess that vaguely resembles Star Wars.

Daniel Molina

I agree knowing a lot of the character’s fates lessens the stakes, but I feel like good writing can still overcome that. For example, Better Call Saul constantly created really tense stakes despite it being a prequel where we know a lot of character’s fates. Hell even Clone Wars did that, but this show in particular just lacked that solid writing and it really shows in this episode and the finale.

Brian Jones

Things that made absolutely no sense in THIS episode of Obi-Wan... Vader not just reigning hell from above and annihilating the hangar from orbit. Reva allowing Obi-Wan, after having him on his knees in front of the base all wrapped up in a bow for Vader, to be marched right back into the rebel controlled base by two stormtroopers. 10 year old Leia magically turning into an electrical engineer and fixing the hangar door. Obi-Wan not having the wisdom to delete the message that would lead anyone in the universe straight to Luke. Lightsabers that are now Nerf bats don't kill people when they are run through, because Qui-gon was apparently a pussy. Vader not force grabbing the second ship. Because apparently the magic powers were on cooldown?? Vader and the inquisitor (also having survived the Nerf bat) leaving Reva alive... What in the actual fuck?!?!? The sad thing is, you could easily make a list as long as this, if not longer, for every episode in this series. The writers of this show were literally smoking crack.🤣😂🤣😂

Sean

Point of fact, Anakin grew up as slave repairing mechanical and electrical components in a scrapyard. He learned mechanics through his occupation. Leia lives a luxurious life in which she doesn't even dress herself. While Anakin's force powers innately developed around mechanics, Leia's have developed around social interactions.

Matt cooke

Compared to episode 1,2and three where we knew nothing about anakins fate , obiwan , yoda… oh wait

Brian Jones

"so it’s obvious she’s not just a pretty pretty princess." On this we agree Luis. You're damn right it's obvious. More than a little TOO obvious. Which makes it all the more ridiculous.🙄

Nick James

please can we watch a good show like Arcane after this horrendous sad excuse for a show Kenobi

Adrian

The way some of y'all complain amuses me to no end. 😂

Kraackin

Show sucks so hard. dont do boba until mando 3. its not great either half good

Rich House

Not a great look to recommend a show while insulting another. And I think bullied is way too strong a term for what happened to that Youtuber.

Bou Sculpts

Oh, don't get me wrong, the CGI is not my main gripe, but it's such an obvious "we don't care" situation, that it really annoys me. It's even worse when we know they did a stellar job on much more difficult de-aging situations. I agree on every gripe you pointed out. But for some easy-to-please Star Wars "fans", all those things you pointed out are "just nitpicking" 🙄

Bou Sculpts

Saying "she's Anakins daughter" to justify her fixing shit without even having a clue it's just so absurd. It's like saying "hey kid, I know you're 5 years old, but you're Picasso's son. Take some oil paints, here's the canvas. Go ahead, paint me a masterpiece". Don't even bother Brian, this guy would even find a reason for every single stupid shit they come across in Star Wars. "Don't ask questions, just consume product and get excited for next product"

Rich House

She does say that's what happened, comments are removed so can't be sure either way. I imagine there is truth to the rude comments but also I think she didn't like the amount of corrections she got for the unfortunately massive number of mistakes she made. No group of people is perfect but I think the majority of Arcane reaction comment sections are overwhelmingly positive

Kevin Mowery

I like the show but mostly because of the character moments. And the lightsabers. It has the problem of any prequel: we know certain things have to happen, and it means there's a certain lack of tension in the plot. That said, the new trailer for Andor looks liiiit.

Marty McGee

That and Leia! They've perfected de-aging with this show!

Marty McGee

Yet the prequels worked knowing what happened to Anakin, Obi Wan, Yoda, and Palpatine. The tension comes from the how-it-happens, not the what-happens. The problem is that the how-it-happens in this show is pretty lackluster bordering on stupid at times.

Marty McGee

Even with all its issues, I still love this show. Maybe it's just the chance to watch Ewan play Obi Wan again. The writing may be ridiculous at times, but the acting has really been great from everyone, Reva included. Then again the acting in the Star Wars Universe has never been among its weaknesses.

Anonymous

Finally! Someone who speaks English! This is not the best show in the world, it’s not trying to be, it’s telling a story I like the way it was told. I can see where it needs to be fixed and it looks like Andor is taking care of those issues but that doesn’t strip away the fact that I had fun.

Albiezushi

my favorite part is when Vader does force kung fu with his robot hands **the UP/PUSH AWAY** during the saber fight with Reva, i was like DAAAMN and then he finishes with the Michael Jackson signature leg kick or he should've anyway

J.C.G.

Or, in what is surely my incorrect, misguided, apologist opinion . . . Point 1 - The base was built into the side of a mountain, so yes you could bombard it into oblivion eventually, but it would be quicker, and more likely to result in Obi-wan's capture, which is what Vader wants, to assault the base. Point 2 - She clearly thought this was the plan. Obi-wan lures Vader to the planet, easily escapes the storm troopers, and the two have a confrontation that is supposed to allow Reva to take Vader by "surprise". Obi-wan just didn't hold up his end of the deal. Point 3 - Leia doesn't fix the door magically, there is a clear line of dialog where we learn she was told what she needed to do, and then eventually, she does it. A tiny toy droid was able to disable the system, why shouldn't re-enabling the system be just as easy? Point 4 - Yeah sure the communicator being dropped clearly happened to advance the plot. This is a story, advancing the plot is kinda the point. Point 5 - Yeah, its almost like the idea of death to Jedi isn't something they dread, that they accept willingly, knowing they will 'become one with the force'. Whereas dark-side force users get all angry and rage-filled and cling to life using the force itself to keep themselves going. I am more surprised when a dark side user dies and stays dead - I half expect to see Dooku's floating head at some point. Point 6 - Vader is a 7 foot tall, overly emotional, asthmatic, quadriplegic, carrying around tons of metal parts for limbs, and your argument is that Vader couldn't possibly be tired or angry after ripping a star-ship from the sky and into a dozens of pieces, only to find that Obi-wan wasn't there? I mean if Vader has any weaknesses at all, I would argue stamina would be the most obvious one, and the most consistent with everything we have ever seen of him. Point 7 - We just saw how truly inconsequential Reva is to the likes of Vader, there are plenty of people that Vader doesn't kill because they don't mean anything to him, Reva happens to now fall in that category, she lives or dies, it makes no difference to him at all.

Andrew

Congrat Natalie! You made it onto the Russo Brothers tiktok!

Trish Murphy

We didn’t know for sure about Reva’s back story but I did have a hunch since part 1 with the opening order 66 scene. She must have felt abandoned by Obi Wan. Not sure if she would have heard Obi telling Jedi to stay away from the temple

J.C.G.

I have to disagree with you Hold, I thought the acting in a lot of Episodes 1, 2, and 3 was pretty rough, most of which I think we can attribute to Lucas not being the greatest director in the world, there was plenty of acting talent available. Hayden and Natalie are fine actors in other projects, but their whole romance arc just felt wrong.

Trish Murphy

I thought you’d get into it more after part 4. Thanks Nat ✌️

Daniel Vezina

Damn, you look so bored at the start of the vid. I feel like Reva is gonna die, she was supposed to, but, NO, KK decided that she survived , despite Favreau being against it, and give her a solo series, the week that episode aired. Oh my God !!! the rolling eyes, so fucking funny. She survived, Yeah ???? Besides, Qui-Gon, was a pussy for dying from a lightsaber through the guts. Her and the robot are having a moment, LOL. Lola, a BRIGHT RFED light in Dark place, director of photography do doesn't know how light works, LOL. I got to give them that, it's not Jon Williams, but it's a good soundtrack.

2026-09-06 12:00 C'mon everyone. We HAVE to get Nat to watch the She-Hulk trailer! She has to see just how much she IS Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters lol. From her face & facial expressions, the way she talks, her mannerisms, quirkiness, etc. I can't unsee it now.

xander

she's watched it! there's a reaction on her YouTube shorts

Opti_Frog

Cry a bit more, why don't you. No one is forcing you to be Nat's patreon. Why not find reactors that are more to your taste instead of whinging?

Opti_Frog

She has not reacted to the new one.

Thomas Yanez

Oh, did they release a trailer where the CG didn't look like total ass?

Anonymous

Wow someone’s an entitled little prick, aren’t they? Natalie is gonna watch what she wants to watch. Don’t like it? Leave

Michael Rockenfelder

Oh look, blaming Kathleen for the things you don't like while praying Favreau and Filoni for things you do. Little do you realize Kathleen oversees EVERYTHING.

Jeff E

The SDCC trailer has MUCH improved CG. Has anyone told her, or has she noticed, how much Tatiana Maslany's performance as Jennifer Walters is just like HER? That's the first thing I thought when I saw the first trailer. I'm talking human form.

Michael Rockenfelder

@Brian Jones So you're fine with Anakin being able to podrace and flying a starship (WITH NO PRIOR PRACTICE) but you have a hard time believing his daughter could figure out technology. Bro just face the facts you're as sexist as they come.

Michael Rockenfelder

@Brian Jones so funny when you get called out you have *nothing* to retort. Almost like you know you're just spewing bullshit.

Michael Rockenfelder

@Bou_ Except she's literally the child of "The Chosen One". Really not that hard of a stretch. Well, not that hard for people who aren't misogynistic idiots.

Bou Sculpts

You went for the easy "you don't like the new Star Wars cause you're a misogynist" and you whiffed hard little guy. I bet you would have just called me racist if I had said anything remotely critical about Reva, because that's how poor on argument you guys are lmao. I didn't even mentioned her sex on my point. It would be just as stupid for Luke (although it would even make much more sense since Luke helps Owen with the machinery on the farm, unlike Leia who lives the life of a high-class aristocrat). Anakin worked for Watto for all his life, so that's where they give you a reason for him being good with machines. Next time you try to make a point, try leaving insults outside, my man. It does little to no good to defend your point ;)

Daniel Vezina

Yeah, she oversees everything. It's when she meddle, that things turn to shit.

Daniel Vezina

I would be down for an Orphan Black reaction.

Richard Church

I can see where you're coming from in terms of Reva's arc and how late the reva-lation (sorry, I had to) was for you. For me personally I liked it, especially when there are little hints here and there in the story and her performance that something else is motivating her. Part III had that intense reaction when she discovered the Jedi safe house with the carvings of the sigil and names, just how angry she became at seeing those thing fed into her past as she learnt how many Jedi escaped while her friends died and she hid "in the gutter". It was a reminder of what she didn't get for either herself or the other younglings

Daniel Vezina

Plus neither Filoni or Favreau's name are attach to that dumpster fire So yeah, when it's Bad it's KK's fault, but when it's Good it's Filoni and Favreau.

2026-09-19 15:00 Personally I really think the narrative would have been so much stronger if we were given her backstory from the beginning with a half/half split between her & Obi Wan. Reva's story had the potential to be SUPER interesting, a youngling who ended up an undercover inquisitor, hoping to assassinate Vader, but they chose not to explore that at all. I really would have loved to have been able to see from her perspective her struggling to maintain the illusion of being a sith, having to socialize and work with the other inquisitors at the sacrifice of everything she held dear, but once again Disney thinks interesting = boring :/

Yah. Doesn't need to be a mystery what happens in the future. Sometimes it's just super interesting to see HOW a person got from point A to point B.

Brian Jones

Nah, just far too tired of watching apologists attempt to cover for the indefensible, and also bored with repeating myself. Most of us are already past the next episode Michael. Do try to keep up.😏👍

Micah Zimmer

The show is designed to be everyone's first foray into league. While it sucks that the reactor got bullied (and that is completely unacceptable and definitely a bad look for the fans), I can understand the frustration of watching someone act constantly confused and asking questions about plot elements that were answered 5 minutes ago. Everyone misses stuff though, and being aggressive about correcting someone's first experience is not ok.

Tomas

Personally, I'd say one of the main issues is that it *isn't* really telling a story, but that they just felt the need to force some content in between the PT and OT without really having a plan. It's great to see Ewan as Kenobi again, but the things that happen in the show really makes no sense. Is Vader seriously hunting Kenobi or not? I really can't tell, because that means Vader either let him go on a number of occasions for no apparent reason, or that Vader is very incompetent and / or pointlessly roundabout in his actions, in a way that's not consistent with his character from elsewhere in the franchise. Again, there's not really a story here, just an attempt to force an open conflict between Vader and Kenobi for no reason. The entire premise of kidnapping Leia to make Kenobi move makes no sense unless we assume a whole lot of things that makes the Empire seem very stupid when taking the OT into account.
