And this is where the show threw all logic out the window. Killgrave puts himself close enough to Jessica that she could have broken his jaw before he could stop her. Making him unable to speak would render him powerless. End of season.

I understand that Kilgrave is the greatest villain Marvel Entertainment has ever given us. I understand that he is, literally, the poster child for a personality disorder. I get it. But that purple suit is so pimpin'... and he's so damn charming... god dammit this show is so good I can hardly stand it :S

He doesn’t need to speak for his powers to work. It would just slow him down a bit. All he’d need to do is make eye contact with someone for long enough to have their attention and they’ll be compelled to do whatever they think he wants. He could just gesture “Stop” with his hands and they’d stop. He could write things on paper and they’d do whatever he wrote down.

Whether she would admit it or not Jessica is terrified of Kilgrave and what he can do. She believes she already got 4 people killed, she wouldn't risk a room full of people when there's a chance she could fail to incapacitate him.

I disagree. Everything from the show indicates he has to speak to compel his victims. Even if he didn't though, Jessica could just knock his ass out. Also, just wearing ear buds with music blasting would neutralize his powers.

You understand ptsd right? That thing jessica is suffering from. Also if she broke his jaw he could have other people on standby ready to kill her friends or themselves or a multitude of other terrifying options. Think.

This show was hard for me to watch, especially as David Tennant will always be the Doctor to me, so seeing him be so evil is complicated.

That's a homage to the comics version of Kilgrave who's a mutant with purple skin called the Purple Man.

When Killgrave said that them being together was "Inevitable" it made me realize how weird it is that this show exists in the same Universe as Thanos.
