Bitwig 5.3 Beta 2 (Patreon)

This version brings new features, enhancements, and bug fixes, focusing primarily on improved functionality for creative workflows. Highlights include the Frequency Shifter Plus device, upgrades to the Step Modulator, and expanded bounce-in-place options. There’s also a lot of attention to detail in usability tweaks and system performance fixes. Here's the breakdown:

Key Updates and Features:

Frequency Shifter Plus Device:

A new dedicated audio FX device for the chain.

Similar sound to the grid module but lacks polyphony and key tracking options.

Includes modes for time-synced pitch shifting (note values) and "Hold" mode for external phase input control.

Step Modulator Enhancements:

Added trigger modes: "Pulse" (short notes) and "Gate" (sustained notes).

New "Accent Boost" option to modulate velocity more effectively.

Features to clear, randomize, or invert steps globally, with room for future customization (e.g., step probability sliders).

Bounce-in-Place Improvements:

New modes: Pre-FX, Pre-Fader, and Post-Fader bounce.

Shortcut additions to streamline the bounce workflow.

In-place bouncing creates files directly on the current track.

Miscellaneous Updates:

Enhanced GUI and tooltips for better clarity in the Frequency Shifter Plus module.

Smoother automation curves for certain parameters.

Fixed latency issues with the drum machine and improved stability (e.g., Ableton Link and audio feedback fixes).
