Seeing alot of asses in the comments, as far as i can remember all the updates before the tech update came out relatively fast. Plus you can tell that the devs realise they are taking a long time because they gave us what, 3 or 4 pre tech updates with new scenes and they do theyre best to keep us updated so you can tell theyre trying. Unless you can do better you really have no room to talk🤷‍♂️. The games a great game and theyre doing a great job as far as im concerned.

Yeah it is a pretty awesome game right now as it stands. I'm fine waiting and not complaining. It doesn't even need updating with all of the cookiejar scenes, so any updates are just icing.

The comments here are hilarious and pretty vicious lol. Truly, you can edit your pledge or cancel all together before the start of next month. I recently changed my pledge because I want to be more financially sound this year but the delays factored in too. I think it’s fair to express yourself but do something about to it too.

It's definitely great that this game is making $65,000 a month, as it is deserved, but the time issue with the tech update needs to be addressed as it is not a minor thing when it was close to 4 years when the players voted for it, to think that with such a huge budget (which was even bigger at the time) that it wouldn't take this long.. yet to even have a release date.. while we get Wallpapers.. . While there are other games that are putting in just as much work and releasing new content regularly while barely making a fraction of that such as What a Legend. It's not a lack of developers and even if it was that problem should have been dealt with at that time knowing that such a big update was voted for. When others are making just as well thought out stories & characters and also art for 5% of what you are given at hand.

I'm Definitely a Very BIG Fan of this project as a matter of fact the Roxxy storyline is my idea of {"Happy Ever After Until The End Of My Days"} unfortunately due to mortgage and car payments I'm only able to contribute at the level I contribute, once the economy turns around (Please Dear God Turn Around) I will happily upgrade my pledge in order of getting this new update to progress faster and Bug free, until then I can enjoy what I have and wait patiently. P.s. please bring forth the update as quickly as Ya'll can while Keeping the game Stable Thank You Immensely!!! 🤠👍

Streams are archived so you can watch them back I'm not up to date with the latest happenings, but I was reassured by an explanation on how tedious having to redo every scene again is to make it work with the new system I do think it would be helpful if this stuff would also get shared on Patreon even if it's thought of being too technical. All you people who are saying "65K a month, DC is getting rich" are idiots. There are NINE people on the dev team now, all of whom need to get paid. Nobody's getting rich on that. And I've been a programmer longer than most of you have been alive. Taking a game that has as much animation as this game does and converting all of that from standard to widescreen is a HUGE job, and I doubt that anyone understood how big a job it was going to be before they started it. If you're getting bored with this game, quit bitching and go play some other games for a while.

With nine people, they're still bringing in over $7,000 per month each. The tech update has been moving at a crawl for over two years (voted on in December 2020), with NINE people on the team. In the two years since it was announced, each team member has brought in roughly $168,000. They're NOT hurting for money. Understand that nobody was asking for the game to go from standard to widescreen, this is something the development team decided on their own. That is not the fault of the supporters, though they'e the ones paying for it. Every month they drag it out is an additional $65,000 coming out of the pockets of the supporters, without tangible results. "Pre-Tech" updates are smaller, and aside from them, it's been excuses and "teaser wallpapers". Every person who supports the game monetarily has a right to question the product that they're paying for. They're here because they WANT the game to succeed, but the developers actions aren't exactly inspiring confidence these days. It doesn't help when people see other developers create (and complete) bigger games, with better graphics, for less money, and in less time. On a side note, your programming experience is comepletely and totally irrelevant.

If there's anything we can all agree on, it's that visual novels definitely take the longest to develop. Screw all these other indie developers innovating with something new and developing them faster for less money, they're obviously all wrong and not doing it correctly. They don't appreciate how difficult it is to re-align an object in a scene from one side to another AND add text too. Takes literally years and $69k+ to get that right. Fantastic work as usual, can't wait for the 2050 Tech Update to get released, it'll be life changing.

The status on the main page says 26 changes in the past 24 hours. But all the percentages are still the same for the last couple months. So I guess that means they changed nothing. The 26 changes are them changing their mind about updating

Depends on country, where i live its average from 3k for junior to 5-6k senior if you go with dollars, looking at data from last year for US 7-9k is average less than 25% have over 10k

well we are coming up on the 2 years anniversary of the last official update before tech started. it is currently moving at less than 1% a month, sooo we have about 3 years left at it current rate.

Someone has posted about What A Legend and they're not joking about how much better it is. They have weekly updates and the game looks phenomenal at the stage it's at. Bear in mind one of the updates included that one of the team (of 2 total) recently got discharged from ICU. Yet they still post very regular and detailed updates. When I say detailed, I mean more than 58 words. I'll let you come to your own conclusions from there.

After finding this game last year and wanting to support the creator, I subscribed immediately. Since then, there have been almost no new updates. I appreciate the game that you made, but I'm not in the business of supporting content creators who don't create content. I've enjoyed the stories, but after close to a year with little movement on it, I don't really even remember them. I think I've contributed enough for now. Best of luck!

dude that's cool and all but I'd rather not continue supporting what is seeming more like a money grab. If they really wanted to prove that they were releasing the tech update in good faith, then they could dual track a secondary game release plan "SS Tech Build 0.0.1", and release consistent updates on it, even saying "this is an unstable build", so that there's at least some transparency on the state of things. This black box of "we can't show you anything until its complete" is shady, especially with how long its taken to do. For now, I'd rather fund other projects from content creators who are actually creating content.

Yeah Ive been following this creator for a while and Ive followed many who do similar work, I can easily conclude that this is 100% a money grab. The creator knows it though, He knows this is a particular kind of niche and there is clearly a massive group of people that do not care either way and just want to content when they can. Its sad, I have reduced mine to a dollar, I shouldve stopped a long time ago, but then again, I used to be a 20 a month patron. I guess why would you give up a good thing you got going when clearly the majority still support him anyway. His patrons go up every month. It would be an awful business practice and terrible relationship building with his customers in any other field almost, except this one, he gets away with it and I can guarantee he does not care. Hes making that $$$$

Seems a typical "I want it right now" complaint. I've had this game for years, and it is way larger than the original. A lot more content, some nice update/changes to the 1st versions, and have never had any bug issue, unlike many games one spends big bucks on, only to have to update a number of times before game runs right. I have yet to find a similar game like this one, with this much content. But, each to their own. $10. don't break the bank, so I'll stick with it.

I mean, this depends on what you mean by "it", really. Assuming that "it" is "transparency and regular updates on what is going on", then yes I do want that right now, and that is a legitimate concern. There's a pretty big difference between wanting transparency and updates versus wanting more work done than is reasonable and trying to rush the creators to get more out. Is this concept that difficult to understand? One of these things is easily defensible. The other is not. How hard is that to grasp? No wonder these guys don't care to release content, when they can just sit back and have tools fund them and and (poorly) defend them against real concerns. To each their own, as you say.

In my opinion the biggest point of friction is the lack of information on patreon. Only few people follow the live stream but want to know at least some kind of status/progress. It would be rather easy to fix this problem if there was just a small dev blog from time to time. I am sure many would understand the situation and would react with patience. But to neglect the major part of the paying community like this, is just a way to say: I absolutely not care about anything people say.

It seems like the kind of game that can hold you over until the next saga update, but Summertime Saga has me hooked and I always come back to it. Legend's art is amazing, but nothing like what DarkCookie is doing and the animation isn't close.

I think the story of the MC's father was the main game. Everything the DarkCookie team does now is just side-stories and bonus material that keeps the world alive (and the money flowing). So, in a way, the game is 100% complete, unless I've misunderstood.
