This isn't some rushed piece of shit AAA game. this is an independently developed game that has some quality and self respect despite it being an adult game. it is a pain to wait, but that's why cookie stressed so much how long it would take when he asked us if we wanted a tech update. we said yes, and now we have to wait for it to be finished. honestly I'm happy with the wallpapers while we wait, he has even released bonus content. I would never encourage people not to support him because he honestly deserves every penny he gets, but it's sad to see people complain so much, instead of people commenting on every post complaining about it, they should go watch his streams, see what designing this game entails. Coding is NOT easy, neither is art, writing, animation and audio, and he's doing all of them. Its easy to get frustrated, but we have a quality game with a developer that streams all his work for us to watch, that's far more than what most games get. not to mention the wallpapers and bonus content we get along the way. It has been a while since a full game update, but I believe it will be more than worth it. some people don't have the patience to wait, and that's fine, but game development isn't easy, and it takes time. this game is quality, and with quality comes hard work, and hard quality work takes time.

I don't care how slow you are drawing or whatever, for over a year and roughly 800,000 you have to TRY to not put out content. Its a goddamn visual novel game. I will just say this. $5 a month for over 5 years that's $300+ I've paid for a game that is not finished or fully released. At some point, I have to ask myself if it's worth paying any more or just accepting my losses. I know it's hard to make a game but if the end product was posted on steam with a $300 price tag would anyone really buy it?

To be fair, better games with better graphics have been started and completed in less time, for less money, with less people working on the game. The devs are working on an upgrade that nobody asked for, and it's been over two years in the works. What do we have? A few wallpapers and some half-hearted partial updates. Regardless of the difficulty, the devs need to complete this update as soon as possible, as Patreons have averaged over $60,000 per month for two years, with no tangible results. Everyone who has spent even a dollar has the right to question what they paid for.

To hopefully answer this properly from what I've seen and heard, yes. The Tech update is basically re-writing the game with code from an actual coder. It's literally putting the skeleton together for the rest of the game. The dating mechanic, the new minigames, the smoother animations. And meanwhile the team has been working on other character's art and models and etc.

80.29% completed since 1/28/2023... I'd complain but no one on the dev team seems to care about people here asking for a update as to why. I've been paying $10 for over 4 years and been supporting them for over 5 years on lower tiers till deciding I like the game so much that it deserves $10 of my money every month. In the past we got updates semi-regularly and I understand it takes a lot to redo a game from the ground up but it doesn't take this long. Either someone doesn't know how to use the new engine for the tech update or we are all just being used for our money since there is over $60k a month being paid to fund this. At some point got to ask when enough is enough? I wonder what would happen if everyone just suddenly stopped paying how quick the update would come out then? It's not about the money to me it is about principal. I feel like a lot of people agree.

if you mean the discord site, go to summertimesaga.com. on main page, upper rh corner use the 3 bar menu, select discord. follow the instructions to be able to log in. once in, you can find a ton of info regarding the game. good luck

You don't need to be a tech expert to see how poorly managed this entire project is. It's a visual novel, which is probably one of the easiest things to develop.

I've kept my mouth shut and not dropped any comments about this issue, I've worked for Microsoft for going on 10 years I have an idea what it takes so let me say this there's some indie games that get deved for xbox,pc,Sony that only have roughly teams of 10-20 people that produce massive games that only took 1-2 years there's zero excuse; please see journey,haven the list goes on and to top that off some games have been developed for console much larger and more detailed than any mobile game/vn etc.. with a smaller budget iirc journey was done with roughly a 600k budget by release. And no I'm not complaining I'm simply stating facts it's not opinions so don't come at me.

I do have myself to blame in part as I voted for it. I'm normally pretty patient but just would like a realitic ETA released since enough time has passed for them to have an idea on how much more development is required to get the tech update out the door.

Literally, a free game (because you don't have to pay for it at all to download and play), and still people complain. They are redoing the WHOLE GAME in the Tech Update. They have to touch and redo everything that was built over more than half a decade. You're not getting more girl updates while this is going on because they are being done in the new format and wouldn't work on the current platform. I for one am glad we even got the mini-updates because they had to do those in both formats.

We should at least be getting updates on where the Tech update is at not wallpapers, nobody is trying to watch the stream and get spoiled on the content either. If you where to try and explain why that is it would not make sense no matter which way you try to spin it because it's clear as night and day who's running the show here $$$$$$$$. in 2 weeks will be the 2 year anniversary of the last major update, in those 2 years there HAS been 5? super minor updates with a couple scenes each so maybe 20-30 new scenes in 2020 he was making almost 90k a month, 2021 about 75k a month, so he took in almost 2 million in the last 2 years, to make 25 scenes. that's truely impressive and i have to say my hats off to him.

Yeah this dude has it made just fleecing the desperate community. Its a fun little niche but it is its rarity that allows him to screw people over like this year after year. It was almost respectable at first, from a business stand point at least, its the easiest 40k or whatever he was making a mo. (Probably higher now) but now its honestly just a slap in the face of all his loyal fans. Even the dick riders on his page are starting to admit that hes absolutely taking advantage of his community/supporters. There isnt a single game, OF ANY CATEGORY, that take this long to finish, let alone update. Patreon has been proof of that for the last few years, there is so many content creators who are creating things like this and of even higher quality with a fraction of time. An actual sliver portion of time. Kind of a scumbag to be honest.. but like Sandviking said, it wont stop until everyone stops supporting the crook.
