Take into consideration that the commencement of work on the update was at least 2 years ago and recently the progress has been incredibly slow. The tech update has been moving at a crawl for over two years (voted on in December 2020), with NINE people on the team. In the two years since it was announced, each team member has brought in roughly $168,000. Understand that nobody was asking for the game to go from standard to widescreen (the orignial purpose of the tech update), this is something the development team decided on their own. That is not the fault of the supporters, though they'e the ones paying for it. Every month they drag it out is an additional $65,000 coming out of the pockets of the supporters, without tangible results. "Pre-Tech" updates are smaller, and aside from them, it's been excuses and "teaser wallpapers". It doesn't help when people see other developers create (and complete) bigger games (not a rewrite, start to finish), with better graphics, with smaller teams, for less money and in less time.

Not for nothing, but it'll be a year this July between Magic Nuts last game update and what they're working on now. Nothing against them, they're great too, but their weekly updates are status reports and the upcoming game content is overall only 44% complete. you get daily updates on progress for STS with the Kompass website dev tracker. I'm sure the miscalculation of the time frame has flamed the majority of these complaints and accusations, but it's easy to underestimate the work load and/or over estimate your capabilities. Is the extraordinary wait time annoying? Sure. Is it worth getting upset over? Probably not. If you already think you've spent enough money drop your pledge to zero, you'll still be able to download for free all the updates when they release. If you still want to pledge maybe just do the $1 lowest tier just $12 a year.

tigerflocke: you comment here like you see this game is nothing more complicated than a cave painting. if you visit the wiki site you may still see the entire task list. example: a task might be to replace all iterations of an old picture version with a new one and then make sure all appearances of that picture work correctly with the code for that scene or scenes. since everything is connected or interconnected, some changes may snowball into other scenes and or other pictures. most of those tasks listed require hundreds if not thousands of changes. when DC and crew get it where they are happy with the quality, we’ll get to see it.

So, they're not really lying when they say they have to do bunch of tasks. I checked recently, and they still have a bunch more to do.

Just a reminder: The Tech Update will include new characters, new locations, and a new map only. There's no new stories for this Tech update. BUT! For new, upcoming story updates, after Tech Updates, it will be Ronda's Update, Annie's Updates and Judith's Updates. All three different story updates will have new stories. So wait for Ronda's Update. Then the following updates will be Annie's and Judith's Updates. As for the Tech Updates, it's almost done. It's 80% done. Just have to wait a little, while longer.

I think that what they are doing with those who are patrons of the game is disrespecting the objective of investing is exactly to have content because the payment is monthly and not annual and if we don't pay they cut the privileges that they claim to have and in reality they don't exist. Everyone that is complaining that DC is a fraud and a thief know absolutely nothing about coding, design, storyboarding, or anything else that goes with not just making a game, but completely redoing the game to allow future updates and maintenance of the game to be streamlined, Have you tried sitting in front of a monitor for 8-12 hours a day writing and working code, or working artboads trying to make every detail perfect day in and day out? It is mentally exhausting and throw in the ones who can only complian how long it is taking only makes the mental exhaustion worse. This is a small team working on bringing all of us a game we can continue to enjoy. I would much rather continue to be patient for a large amazing update for this game over an quick update that may bring just a few minutes of game play with the potential of bringing multiple bugs from being rushed. Yeah, I can personally vouch for how hard coding is. I could barely keep up with the basics. Although I am not thrilled about the delay for the update I understand the reason and truthfully can't complain.

As a patron I can understand some people's frustration, but with projects like this they can't be rushed. Having personally tried my hand at coding I know how difficult it is and tip my hat to anyone in the field. Whether the update is worth it only time will tell. If your not satisfied with this then suspend your donation temporarily, focus on life for a few months and check back. But don't try to harass the creator because you can't be patient. Your more then welcome to leave and find another game.

I completely agree. This shit is taking way too long but on the other hand, each scene is drawn by hand by one person (I think. I'm not entirely sure if darkcookie does all of it but he def does the characters). Not to mention the tech update itself is just remaking the entire game and fixing its code which could take awhile.

I wouldn't mine if some scenes were released as standalone short animations with some alternate angles or preg and non-preg. Dildorog does this really well on his twitter and just adding some sound would really spice them up. They could be unique rewards per month to at least give supporters something between updates. Even characters that are favorites or some that aren't featured enough can get extra scenes so everyone can get something eventually. Just a idea that might help people wait. >_<

there is a pregnancy arc planned for her. DC was talking about it on a recent stream. As one of the main/early characters in the game development, her story touches many of the characters and scenes (lots of art). The transition and update to the new rack system will be much more complex due to all the interactions and upgrades to existing drawings.

You got it all wrong, Jim. The art and new scenes are constantly being updated. And if you are a contributor you can log into Kompas to watch the videos that show DarkCookie drawing all the new content out. The delay seems to be centered around the coding which I believe he's been outsourcing. Been following the development of this game for about 2 years. This next update makes it compatible to widescreen resolutions and far more accessible to multiple platforms. Additionally it's supposed to include the largest story dump with the most new locations ever dropped. So.., as agonizing as the wait has been.., it seems like there's going to be a solid delivery. Right now it looks like there's 88 coding tasks left and 23 posing tasks left and that's it. The art and story tasks are finished.

wow...to go out of your way to be a dbag. Is it too much to ask for someone they're paying to give them something to show how much progress they're making to the Tech update rather than some wallpapers? You just said it yourself their time is precious and they have actual lives and schedule, unlike you apparently. You got so much time you can be an arse to people while showing no effort to actually understand their point of view. Some people don't have the time to watch a live stream or the video, because they got other things that are more of a priority in their lives. They just want to have something they can see with a quick check in. I guess it's too much to ask since you're making it seem it's impossible for DC to do something so simple.

The problem is that the "small team" is comprised of NINE people, and they bring in, on average, over $60,000 per month. This team is working on an update that THEY wanted. Before the initial vote, nobody was clamoring for wide-screen. They wanted this update, not the patrons. When it launches there be little to no new content. The team has been working on this for well over two years now. Smaller teams have started and finished bigger projects for less money, in less time.

Alright, this is definitely it for me. I kept thinking "it's just 1$" but it's just plain insulting at this point. It's clear that you are barely working on the next update if at all, because if you did you would provide actual updates on the process like any developer does, but seeing as you're not it's become clear that you're just farming your free 60k a month. Maybe in 3 years if you start respecting your supporters again I and many others will resubscribe, but for now I'm definitely out lmao. I encourage anyone with an ounce of self-respect to do the same

Hello, I started to have some problems with the game. After I patched Turkish, the game started to give an error. After removing the Turkish patch, the problem goes away, but other patches are deep.
