I grew up on the beaches of south, South Florida, with talk Palm Trees that my two brothers and I played on ans/or tried to climb. As a child I was sooo fascinated by the palm trees there by the beach that were sooo bent over, almost sideways, by years of hurricane winds. I remember one particular tree so bent by years of hurricane winds that when Mama would take us to Crandon Park Beach, my brothers and I would start at the base of that tree, and walk it!! The goal was to see how far we could walk up that tree before the slow curving upwards made us fall off!! So many wonderful memories of me and my two (both deceased) brothers playing on that tree before running down to play in the ocean again. Back and forth, ocean, tree; tree, ocean, we had sooo much fun as children, growing up at the beach several times a week.
