Hello from Chicago! I just joined your Patreon and picked up a brush for the first time a couple weeks ago. You rock!! I have made so many birthday cards and Christmas cards. My adult children said they looked so cool and they are always honest. My question is what kind of paint in a tube should I buy? I have watercolors in a tin from Walgreens. I think I can upgrade to tubes of paint. I have even bought a Princeton brush. Instead of watching TV at night...I am painting. I love it. Thanks for being so much fun. I feel like I am sitting at my kitchen counter with a friend and I love your casual attitude. I am not intimidated to make a mistake. Your trip to France sounds wonderful...enjoy! I have a number of friends who take painting classes and paint on canvasses. They wanted me to take classesbut I didn't want a lot of canvasses sitting around. I wanted something I could use. I saw your video on Tok Tok and thought " I think I can do that." You have really changed my life. What a great new hobby.

I love this!! Thanks Ellen!

I think Ellen features Holbein Tube paints for both Watercolor and Gouache paints. She has a video (check YouTube) on her pallet colors and brushes.

You really are AMAZING,

Anne Yampanis

Ellen, those birch trees are awesome….and so easy! Thank you!

Nancy

I successfully painted the birches!!! I used my library card (the key chain type that is pretty small) to paint the branches. It worked so well! Thanks again - love this

Trisha

I’m trying this today. 🧡🪶🧡

Wow, mine turned out great. How exciting!

Susan Pintar

Mine turned out nicely. Now trying to do it on a smaller scale for cards. Do you have any similar tips for other types of trees, specifically pines spruce?
