I bought that same set and feel the same about them, though no loose hairs for me. Question: how to pack the Velvetouch 8 long rounds and protect the tip? Mine bent irretrievably despite careful (?) packing. Space is so limited on carryon.

Thank you for taking the time to review these. I have the same brush set and the small palette you showed as well. No loose hairs for me either. The sizes of both brushes and palette are great for travel and didn't break the bank. I thought the brushes were fine for sketchbooks or studies as you said. Loved the palette and use that one all the time even at home - right now it has more seasonal colors in it. If I were going on a retreat or taking a class, I would use my go-to brushes for every day painting. I still haven't tried a water brush. Maybe next trip. Thanks again!

This was a good review on the travel brushes. Surprised to see the heavy metal handles. Almost as if the designer of the brushes didn't have a watercolorist try them out! Not a good sign at all when a brush is loosing its "hairs" before one small painting is completed! Thanks for the demonstration.

You make everything look good and sound like fun. I wish you lived next door! Good review.

I have that brush set, and the pan. Traveled to Florida and the white gouache in the pan exploded all over the other colors. Melted to a mucky mess. What a waste!

Sarah Nunnelly

Even though the brushes were yucky, your painting was great!

Debbie Winston

A good lesson on the brushes. Thanks!
