This would be great for a sketchbook page. Can you do a charcoal and watercolor landscape? Or building? City scene? Thanks Ellen!

Susanne Bergesen

I would love to know how you would do this with abstract flowers - still life - landscape, etc!

Patricia New

I love this! Thank you, Ellen.

Vikki Gherzi

I did NOT know you could use charcoal with watercolor. How fun!

Mary Susan Gipson

Love this! Amazed at your creativity and willingness to share.

HeyKat

Wow! Never thought of this! Ideal for creating cool abstract graphics for merch I have in mind: scarves, totes, pillow covers, etc. etc. You rock, Ellen!

Kathy Olmstead

Hi … love everything you do! Have you ever done pastels?

Aquarelle

Love this! Thank you!

Molly Walchuk

I really enjoyed this— thank you Ellen. I just pulled out some “vine” charcoals I found in my stash of art supplies and playing with them now. Cool! I would love to see and try a cityscape using this idea.

Gail Winterfeld

Loved this!Add a charcoal pencil to your Amazon list!

Beth

I guess this is pretty soft charcoal. I have some charcoal pencils from long ago that are 2B and 4B. I'll have to try this!

Susan Pintar

This was one of the best. I’d love to see more tutorials along these lines (pun intended!)

Marianne Bordier

I really love this. It could be a sketch for a larger painting, for one in acrylics or oils/

Joanne Cogswell

Really liked this! Yes, more abstracts👍

Melissa Sugg

I absolutely love this! How can I include soft pastels, also?

Diana Harmon

Wow. this is not easy, but trying! Love the idea of charcoal and ink!!

Macgurrl

I just found this tutorial. It is awesome, definitely going to try it to loosen up.

Charcoal is my favorite choice for sketching. Adding watercolor is new for me. Giving it a try. Thanks.

Leigh

Love the abstracts and charcoal!
