Thanks girl, I obviously needed to hear this ❤️🌵 you are an awesome teacher!

Ida Bochner

Thanks Ellen. I totally struggle with doubts. In my head I want to throw all my paints away sometimes. Of course I never would. Thank you again for the pep talk. I needed it.

Debra Eudy

Ellen, thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I appreciate you.

Grace Horton

That is so me, sometimes. Definitely at the workshop. But I learned so much and I’m encouraged to try things. And, to get past the ugly stage of a painting before tossing in the brush. The ONLY thing stopping me from the Italy retreat is the timing. That’s when make our journey from New York to Florida. Otherwise, I would indulge myself. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

Maggi Marmion

Thanks Ellen! Just what I needed to hear ! Oh the self doubt!!😔😊😊👍

Judith blaustein

YOur words are so inspiring! That’s probably why I love all of your tutorials. I have watched my progress since beginning my art journey. Thank you Ellen!

Cheryl Amato

Yes!! Thank you, you are a wonderful mentor. Is there a list somewhere of your upcoming retreats? I would like to try a U.S. one. Thankyou.

Tommi hayhoe

Thanks so much for your encouraging words Ellen. I soo enjoy your tutorials. Any chance of having a workshop in Toronto Canada!!

Kathleen Smith

Exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you, Ellen for being such an encouraging teacher.

Norene Broyles

Ellen, you are the best! Thanks so much for the reminder to appreciate the process and to give yourself a chance to learn. The things I say to myself I would never say to anyone else. Why is that?

David Perez

This is great. I always feel I could of painted better. Thanks for this pick me up !

Marla

Oh Ellen you just made me cry!! Thank you for your kind words- this was SO needed!!

Beth Perrine

I think the best part of learning to paint with you over the past two years is the confidence you instill in your patreons. You make it easy. I try many f

Beth Perrine

I have no fear in trying new things

Laura Etheridge

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I soooo needed to hear

Laura Etheridge

this, it's so sweet of you to include it in the video.

Cher

Thank you so much for this chat. Really good and the butterflies are beautiful xxxx

Jacqueline Christie

You Rock Ellen. The negative person you talked about is me lol

Sharon Smitherman

Thanks Ellen I'm recovering from shoulder surgery on my right arm and cannot paint at all. I have tried using my left hand but find it frustrating. Hopefully in a few more weeks I can start painting again! Your pep talk helped more than you know! Meanwhile I will keep watching tutorials!

Ellen Crimi-Trent

HI Cheryl I do not have any US retreats only overseas- I had a workshop in Charleston and one coming up in Cape cod sold out- I might have one in NYC in dec but thats it- next yr only doing workshops close to home- its too much planning far away and pricey with flights and hotels.

Cheryl Amato

I would love to see some Stateside workshops - I will keep my eye out for the NYC one! THanks.

Jayne Wilson

Love this pep talk Ellen. I needed it. I actually painted some little minis today and had fun doing it. Thank you!

Sheila C

Ellen, did you use a regular hot press paper for the butterfly or Bristol Board (smooth or vellum)? Thanks, and I appreciate the pep talk too! I actually said I was having fun last night while watercolor painting! That’s huge for me. Learning watercolor is the type of process that many of us want to skip ahead to year 15 or 20, but we’d be better off simply enjoying the journey. I do love the moments of progress and ah ha. I appreciate your talent for art and teaching. Thank you!

Raye Fletcher

Ellen, Thanks so much for the reminder that, as a beginner, I don't have to be perfect. I am loving the process and so grateful that I found you on YouTube. I'll confess, I'm the one who said I didn't think I was good enough to go to your workshop in Tuscany. I'm working on getting rid of that negativity and your encouragement really helps!

Susanne Bergesen

I loved this conversation! My flowers aren't where I would like them to be so I keep practicing & practicing. Ink & wash & abstract are my easiest & I know this. So, when I'm feeling up for more of a challenge I practice flowers! Then I'm having fun & feeling progress. Gotta stop the stinking thinking!

Janet

If I were only as good at painting as I am at the negative self talk. Thanks for the reminder and real talk.

Susan Bricker

Thank you so much for sharing this Ellen! It's so true. I really struggle with my loud self-critic and work at trying to replace the negative with positive. I'm so grateful for your amazing, passionate teaching!!! I wish you and everyone a Merry Christmas and a joyous, creative, peaceful New Year!!

elle

Thank you SO much for sharing this Ellen! I feel that I’m awful. I’ve seen people that say they have been painting for 1 month- and their patients are perfect. I’ve been painting for 5 months and no way does mine look close to that. I won’t have a private showing in SoHo… I just want to be happy with my painting. Thank you!!!!

Pamela

Hi Ellen~ Really a boost on this night~ Thank you !

Laura Jane

Thank you! I needed this today. I never want to lose the joy that I feel when I'm painting. It started In my head on my last couple of paintings, but I'm not going to feed into it. I appreciate your attitude, instruction and positive words!

Pamela

Hi! Great seeing this again, today. Thank you for your believing in all artists. I appreciate you!

Shelly

Thank you for this!! I so needed to hear this. I did your Christmas cards this year and really wanted to do good. But like always so critical of myself. Some I didn’t send because ….you know. Judgmental thots.

Susan

Thank you
