@Heather Stanley, nope. They start round, constrict to pin points as the flashlight beam passes over its face, the shadow moves over its face, then the gif restarts. They don't dilate.

My Grandmother actually had a doll room. She collected and sold them at craft shows. So many nightmares from that room. So many eyes. I swear some of them moved by themselves, but no-one ever believed me.

Since I think the original story kernel mentioned dilate, you could just reverse the video panel (light starts on pinpoint eyes, then dark gets bigger) to fix the constrict vs dilate debate?
