Hello guys!
A very quick update as the new month and new plan is coming really soon!
We had been studying what's the best way to implement the new feature: Pre-Supported models for everyone.

Our solution is to delete the Pre-Supported Tiers this night at our midnight (00:00 at GMT+1), but you'll need to migrate by yourself even now if possible.

As the month change, if you leave your account in a 18$ Pre-Supported Tier, Patreon will keep that amount as a sort of extra donation, so you manually need to switch to Adventurer (10$). Neither Patreon or us can edit your Tier in any way unlucky, so this is the perfect day, if you are in a Pre-Supported Tier, to switch to regular Adventurer (10$).
Before doing it however, please go in the Pre-Supported Post and get this monthly Release as it will be online for few hours.

Update: As this article mention, it's not possible to drop down price of tiers.
We reed an article about editing the price of 5$ and no more but it was a suggestion for a new tier, not actually a rule, we misunderstood. So we don't even need to switch from 45 to 40, we can go down to 35. BUT, The rules in patreon prevent you completely to edit a Tier Price (this makes things a lot harder!) this is not a simple puzzle guys!
So the only solution would be to make the Merchant Tier larger (and be able to get all the people from the presupported). Looks like every Merchant from the presupported tier will need to manually migrate to the regular Merchant Tier, wich will get enough slots.
We are not trying to "punish" anyone, these are consequences we cannot easly overcome due to the platform.

Anyway, these are the last hours for everyone to get the current Jurakin Set.
Here the link, get those before they expire  at midnight in pacific standard time (PST).

Thanks guys! It has been thanks to your support and the fantastic pioneers of the Pre-Supported Tier that we decided to change plan and share the pre-supported models to every Adventurer and Merchant!

See you in few days with the Oni Clan... and an extra surprise!

So when I'm on standard merchant tier I don't need to do anything?

3DHobbyPrints
>>36083701

That is correct. Only those of us who are part of the pre-supported tiers need to worry about migrating to either adventurer tier or to the new merchant tier 2, since now everyone will be getting pre-supported minis.

Job Kragting

I'm in the presupport merchant option but I do'nt get it. What do I need to do?

3DPrintingAdventures

So if we're on the pre-supported merchant tier currently, this will be updated to a merchant tier 2, the price will be $40, but the current merchant tier non-pre supported models is $35, so the merchant tier 2 will be paying $5 more?

Tamás Somogyi

So pre supported Merchants does not have to do anything??? Do I get this right?

Plus Three Anvil

I left the unsupported merchant tier for the presupported merchant. That's unfair for evreyone like me that jump from one to the ther other.

Tim
>>36083869

That's what it sounds like to me and I'm pretty pissed about it. I've been a merchant since day one. I took a $16 price hike so I could move to a presupported merchant tier. Now, I have to pay more for the same stuff as everyone else? Wtf? If that's the reality, I'm out. I'm not gonna get jerked around like that. As much as I like their models, this is poor business.

3DHobbyPrints
>>36083786

"Our solution is to delete the Pre-Supported Tiers this night at our midnight (00:00 at GMT+1), but you'll need to migrate by yourself even now if possible." "so our option to keep your place is to keep transform the Pre-Supported Merchant Tier into a Merchant Tier 2, and drop down its price from 45 to 40" So around midnight their time they will be deleting the presupported tiers all together, since everyone will now get presupported files. So now the presupported merchant will become Merchant Tier 2, see a price reduction from $45 to 40, but you will have to migrate over yourself. If you fail to migrate over before it is billed for this month then the amount you were paying for the now nonexistent tier will just go as a charitable donation, and you will have to pay a second time to join any tier.

Tim
>>36083879

Nope. You just have to pay more for the same stuff. Like being punished for being an early adopter of the presupported tiers.

Job Kragting
>>36083977

Me too. Had the 29 dollar merchant tier to begin with.. left it for pre-supported 45 because there was no other option to get presupport

Job Kragting
>>36083786

Thank you Eric, now the only question remaining is why it would be 40 dollar instead of 35, like the other merchant tier :-)

3DHobbyPrints
>>36083879

You will need to manually migrate when they delete the presupported tiers. If you fail to do so before billing for the month the amount you were paying will continue to be billed, but it will go as a charitable donation.

Artilux

I just changed, thanks for the headsup. Hope this doesn't mess up my streak for the Epic Boss :)

wordflyer

Not a merchant, but I plead with you to make the merchant tiers the same price. A lot of them upgraded and it would wrong to make them pay more than those that never did.

Neckbeardia

Merchant is sold out sadly, is there enough room for everyone to be able to change across?

Ian Brogan

Hi everyone, I am relatively new to Patreon (only 2 months) so I'm not sure how to switch. If I sign up for the adventurer tier right now I will be charged again for April, no? And if I leave the presupported tier that affects my being able to get the loyalty rewards. So is there a place to switch instead of leaving and signing back up?

DungeonTokens
>>36083786

Nothing going by the description above. They will edit the presupported tier to merchant tier 2 and change the price to $40 so you will save $5 a month.

Selvin Alvarez

I switched from regular merchant to presupported this month, it is not letting me switch back because it is sold out? What should we do?

Michael Grace

Ya I'm little miffed I was in merchant tier at $35 and decided to go presupported merchant.

Daffy Price

I was a 35 dollar merchant for ages, then switched to pre supported, and now I'm having to pay more because I switched.... This is not fair to merchants to be perfectly honest.... Especially when you say we were pioneers as you say in your post.

Job Kragting
>>36083786

Nope. Before presupport there was 29 merch early bird and there was 'normal' 35 dollar merchandise. They added 45 dollar presupport merch slots, with this came MANY more merch slots available. So imo we wont save $5, we will pay $5 extra if you compare it correctly

Selvin Alvarez

I'm sorry but I just need a little clarification, if we stay in the presupported merchant tier, we have to pay 40.00 instead of 35.00? is this permanent or just this month until you can get us into the regular merchant tier?

3DHobbyPrints
>>36083786

I call this the Late Riser Tier, lol. It sucks for those who switched to get the new benefit of presupported models, but now as it stands there will be no additional benefit for the new tier. So its kind of like early birds getting the good deals, everyone else getting the usual deal and now late risers having to find a scalper to get anything. I'm fine with this price personally because I am legit one of the "late risers". Things will be different if they decide to give this tier any additional benefit to justify the additional cost outside of the exclusivity and demand driving it.

3DHobbyPrints
>>36083869

It is transitioning from a set benefit and more slots for merchant tier to now being only demand and exclusivity of merchant slots driving the price. With demand the price will go up. Yes early adopters are getting screwed since you already had the exclusive slot and now are losing the additional benefit that you paid for, unless, they decide to do something else as a benefit for every month.

Engineered Reality Minis

I'm not going to lie. Being punished for being an early and fervent adopter of Greg's work is not an acceptable practice. I realize 5 dollars isn't much (one latte a month, etc, etc) but it comes down to the principle of how you are treating those that jump to the opportunity to support your work. I've been in since the Fighter's Guild, but this has me questioning how you will treat us in the future.

3DPrintingAdventures
>>36083869

Let's give them a chance to respond, I understand the concern as well. In my opinion Artisan Guild is worth the extra cost, but do feel concerned that I would be paying more because I switched early. But they consistently show they care for their supporters, so I'll wait to hear more about this.

NaH Outpost
>>36083869

Most cries have been heard at this point, I agree with 3D and we should see what they have to say before we all get our pitchforks out. Everyone says it's poor business practice but you need to remember, they weren't in this for the business and it's not their expertise, modeling is.

Jason Knudsen

I was under the impression there would be a new tier for merchants today but I don't see anything yet. Is that expected? I'm on the pre-tier merchant right now. I think it sounds like we'll automatically be moved to the new tier: "so our option to keep your place is to keep transform the Pre-Supported Merchant Tier into a Merchant Tier 2"

Nicolaj
>>36085738

You got what you paid for during these months. You dont pay for "whats coming". Supporting smth where you get smth out of it leaves them in no "dept" to you in any way.

Engineered Reality Minis
>>36085738

I never said they own me anything... I said I question what they will do in the future. It's their business, they run it how they want. And with the number of backers, they are doing very well. But I choose who I do business with also. A merchant agreement goes both ways and If I don't like the new terms then I won't agree to it and I'll pull my AG inventory. That's business.

Tim
>>36086449

You missed the part where you are going to pay more being in merchant tier 2

3DHobbyPrints
>>36083879

I see that they mention transforming it now. They made it sound like they couldn't do that with " Neither Patreon or us can edit your Tier in any way". Came across to me like once a tier is posted you can only delete it to make changes to price/name. Perhaps they only meant they can't move your tier around for you.

Brennon Anderson

Geez, everyone is all uptight about the merchant tier stuff. Not gonna lie I was looking forward to it being $35 instead of $45 but since I was only able to join as a merchant because the pre-supported tier added more spots so I'm not *that* upset since I made the choice to join at that price anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Brennon Anderson
>>36084802

The way they wrote it made it sound like we don't have to do anything if we're already in the pre-supported merchant tier - they'll change the name to Merchant tier 2 and the price down to $40 instead of $45

DungeonTokens

Pitchforks down - wait for a response rather than getting yourselves all worked up.

wordflyer
>>36091435

That's great, but consider those who had been early bird merchants and upgraded to presupported

De
>>36091435

For not wanting to run it like a business they sure have supply and demand side down.

Snk Attack Prints

I'm alittle upset with the fact that I left my $29 dollar merchant spot to support the pre supported tier which is amazing and now that everyone is getting it a month later my move is in vein and im being charged more than the regular merchant tier

Maggie Steward

Sorry, but I'm out. There are new patreon choices with higher detailed models and just as much if not more variety, with more fairly priced merchant options an not even close to the competition against other merchants at those prices. A lot of recent practices between the choice to charge an arm and a leg for presupported options, the presupported models being mislabeled and having islands completely missed with the rare response for help from the person doing the supports is just a turn off to me. I think you need to hire someone to handle your socials and make sure people are getting helped. Perhaps you need to hire a new modeler to help keep up with the other patreons and bring new ideas to the table. Unfortunately after 9 months of supporting, I'm going to walk away for the greener grass. I wish you luck and if things change and you find a way to grow without destroying your work ethic and inspiration, I will be back.

Merchant Tier will just be one, we tought from an old article that just a difference of 5 was possible but we completly misunderstood: no price change is allowed in Patreon. So the only solution is to make the Merchant Tier bigger, due to the platform limit.

Yeah it sounds like we're really limited by and struggling with the tech and features of Patreon. Totally get it. We'll get through this -- thanks for doing all this in the first place (including pre-support for free)

Shadowshot

If you all aren't making a killing selling artisan guild prints, you're marketing or pricing wrong. I'd gladly pay $100 a month if that was what the price was. I don't think many of you understand what's happening either. We're going to be all dropped from $45 to $35, but I don't know what that means for the people in the earlier tiers. However, for those in the $35 or joined from the new $45 tier, none of you need to complain or say anything pretty much. Thank you Artisan Guild for all you do!

Joshua Raydieg De Leon

So, if I'm already in the Pre-Support Merchant Tier, will I need to do anything to keep my place in it once it switches to Merchant Tier 2? I've read through the post and am still confused....

3DPrintingAdventures
>>36083869

Thanks Artisan Guild! I appreciate the explanation and definitely understand limitations of platforms. I know you always try to do your best for your supporters.

Neckbeardia

Will there be any chance for people that where on the early merchant teir to be able to get it back?

Bradley Flores
>>36097886

So, you are going to delete the Pre-Support Merchant Tier at midnight. Please post/message us the window of time of when the Merchant tier will expand. Also, If we miss the window, will we loose our subscription once this tier is deleted?

Brennon Anderson
>>36083879

There's an update and you'll need to swap to the regular merchant tier - which is available to do as of now FYI

Selvin Alvarez

Thank you guys for opening up the regular merchants tier so we could switch back, you guys are awesome.

Jason Knudsen

Merchant tier looks to have opened -- I've just switched back to the $35/month tier. Thanks guys!

Bradley Flores
>>36097886

I switched down to the $35 merchant group. I appreciate what you are doing for all of us.

David Lyse

I only have 1 comment about pre-supported minis: I always scale your sculpts to 90% of their published size, so pre-supported models don't help me, which is why I didn't join that tier in the first place. Will the unsupported versions of each month's release also be available?

Marshall Ladd
>>36108586

They have said you will get both on videos and comments. Also, check out 3d printing pros channel on YouTube. He's the guy who supports the models and he has a new video that addresses your question about scaling, specifically.

Dave
>>36108586

I have been loading the 3d object file, and scaling that. Hopefully that will work for you too.

David Lyse
>>36108586

I have no problem scaling the original STL files. However, if they are pre-supported, then the supports ALSO get scaled smaller, which tends to cause them to fail. As long as I can still get the unsupported models, I am fine.

Larz Silcott

So I just manually lowered my Donation to 10 dollars. So do i automatically get added to adventurer because presupport went bye bye?

John Pace
>>36108586

I found it (and most of 3DPrintingPro videos extremely helpful) - hope you do too!

PheonixKnight

I didnt see that you were changing things until now but oh well think of it as a tip

Decaybringer

Yeah of course i was not fast enough to get the pre supported Jurakin. Is there anyway how i can still get it? or is the opportunity lost forever? I tried the Oni and it works great for me and my printer - it increased my output of models by alot, since i always takes me a long time to manually support the models. Cheers,
