For real— she got me into taylor with FOLKLORE OF ALL ALBUMS. So, naturally.. I ran to find all the reaction videos. Yours came up first and gave me an entirely different perspective on that album and her music in general, now.. 6 months later I have 3 lyric tattoos and got to experience my first album release with YOU!! thank you so so so much for being you, Cait!

I mean this with no hyperbole— I probably wouldn’t have been the fan I am today without seeing the impact it had on you! I understood and appreciate the writing when she showed me, but to see how someone random felt the lyrics really made me enjoy it even more

Henri J. Mertens

Honestly I think Robin is one of the most beautiful sounding songs Taylor’s ever recorded. And the Bolter is so freaking good

Sarii

i am SAT

Gordon Werner

“The Prophecy” and Cassandra” are some of my favorites … and “The Manuscript” — what can I say that would do that song justice.

Jess.

Here we go! I'm so excited! I listened to the Anthology only once so far (the moment it came out) and haven't gone back yet cause I needed and wanted time to enjoy the first half of the album. So I decided my second listen was going to be with you Caitlin when you uploaded this video, so here we go!

Nick H

Yay happy Sunday! I was just about to go out but I am afraid I have to cancel those plans to watch this. So excited to see reaction to my favs, Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus; How Did It End; and Peter! ❤️

Hunter Summerhays

If you think about it “How Did It End”? Is a track 5 given the fact that it’s on its own album if that makes sense because it’s a double album.

Rania

omg I'm so excited for this!!!

Markus Danielsson

The pure shock I felt when read the title of Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus was like: "Wait why I MY name in there??? What have I done to deserve this?" AND THEN you had to use my name in the rhymey song too Caitlin!

Robbie Corrie

Glad to see another Peter fan! Also as Maisie fan (thanks for introducing her to me), I'm loving we have a Wendy and a Peter song that are almost eerily similar

I have “you drew stars around my scars” on my forearm, you’re on your own kid on my right thigh, and long story short, I survived on my left thigh!

BrettisaSwiftie

Is it just me or does Cassandra sound a bit like Mad Woman

Sarii

peter and robin deserve more love

Carbon Based Life Form

I Hate It Here hit me like a speeding freight train through a small town

Starr Jauregui

Peter Pan and Wendy! Peter losing Wendy! PETER LOST WENDY! why am i crying rn

Imke

Aaron has a son named Robin .... :')

Santana Xavier

I played Wendy by Maisie then Peter this morning and that HURT 😭

Santana Xavier

The Bolter is basically Aaron's Blank Space. The "when she was 6" refers to reputation and how the media viewed her before that and the car one evening in the chorus is a reference to getaway car :)

Santana Xavier

Taylor apparently wrote Robin about Aaron's son :)

Adam

I hate it here absolutely destroyed me

Claudy

I hate it here still makes me cry.. it really is for the introverted dissociating girlies

christine.ro

I think The Manuscript is about Jake. it has so many references to All too well and its movie if you look closer at it. and generally, the manuscript can be seen as a metaphor of her whole discography and she closes all chapters as in previous albums and her relationships she had in those. she finally finds some closure and can move on without any ties (except Travis). also, Robin is said to be the son of Aaron Dessner :) just imagine when you grow up and you get to have a song written for you by Taylor. edit: what I just came across.. Peter is written in 3/4 time, as is a viennese waltz typically .. Lover is also written in 3/4 time 🫠

Cheryl B.

Peter Pan from Wendy’s perspective. 😍 Genius says that Aaron has a child named Robin.

SnowyWinter

Letters TS and TK are highlighted in the High School lyric video on her youtube.

subtle reads

The fact that The Manuscript is literally the story of All Too Well (10 min version) is so mind-blowing to me. How she describes the actual relationship that the original All Too Well was based on to what the fans turned that song into for her to the making of ATW10 and the short film—it’s all so beautiful and just shows the power of all her songs, albums, and songwriting 😭🤍

Eduardo Zamora

Okok hear me out… I look in people’s window is from Peter Pan’s perspective and Peter being Wendy’s perspective in the movies Peter would watch Wendy tell her siblings stories of Peter and he would listen to her too looking in from the window on the outside looking in!

Alexia

I love how shook we were over Andrea🤣

Alexia

Is it petty of me to hope North posts tiktoks with this song?😅 cause we know how unhinged North is

Kenz

The Robin reference was so perfect cause I was actually playing Stardew while watching this 😂😂 Thanks for always taking us along on your Swiftie journey 🫶🏻

Renee

The first time I saw Peter once the second half of the album dropped I immediately thought of Peter Pan and Wendy, and then second thought it and said no it’s gotta be about something else. But Taylor really gave us a whole Peter & Wendy song and it’s my 3rd favorite of the whole album. I immediately fell in love with it on first listen. Also really love I Look In People’s Windows which I did not see coming from the titles, but it’s one of my top favorites and I love it more and more each listen. So High School and imgonnagetyouback are my bops on this half of the album, along with The Bolter which has my favorite lyric “as she was leaving, it felt like breathing..”, and the The Manuscript I love so much, even with the heartbreaking lyrics. I love the ties back to All Too Well that it has. 🤍 And you were so right about I Hate It Here being for the readers. That’s my top favorite of this half of the album. As someone who retreats into fictional worlds as much as I do into music that song just gets me so well, and I love it to pieces.

Renee

Your reaction to that ending is such a mood Caitlin. She left us on “this is what it was all for. And it’s no longer mine, it’s yours now.” She’s let the past go, and now they are stories we can relate to our lives and heal from if necessary. This is really her most personal album, and I love her being brave enough to share all this with and for us. 🤍

Renee

I do prefer this half of the album to the first. I love almost every single song on this second half, where the first half I really like them, but not to the level of The Anthology songs. Her writing and storytelling on this half was just perfect. 👏🏼💯

Gordon Werner

So in “I Hate It Here” Taylor sings about retreating into her mind and creating stories, etc … is this the genesis of “Folklore” and “Evermore” ?

Jackie

you getting chocolate after listening to I Hate It Here is such a MOOD girl. You are definitely not the only one that that song hit. It hits me every time. This second half of the album is just insanely gone. One after another after another. As always, loving watching your reaction! 💜

Switch

Man.. one day you stumble upon a Paranormal Activity reaction from someone who enjoys found footage as much as you for once. The next day one of your fav FB players is dating THE pop star. The next-next day you've had that pop star's album on repeat for over a week and is now screaming "The Starting Line" references from Taylor Swift watching that horror reactor. Usually enjoyed Taylor when a song hit my ear growing up, but stoked to finally be fully on board. Better late than never I guess haha. This album is great from start to finish.

Adam Riehl

The backing vocals on The Manuscript sound like cardigan I think.

Renee Parker

Everyone is saying that the manuscript is essentially referring to the story of All Too Well. Which makes so much sense but also hits even harder which I did not think that was possible

Lady Q

In "the black good," she is the old habit! She is screaming, and that gasp at the end is her D-Y-I-N-G! She dies at the end of the song... It's also another reference to his multiple addictions. This woman is a genius.

Destiny Murtaugh

Robin being about Aaron Dessner's son absolutely gutted me

Jamie

Could u do some more horrors? There’s so much more to react to

Patty Go

The intro though was also me with this album. After I listened to the first part, I had to sit with it for a minute before I even listened to the anthology tracks, and once I listened to them, I was absolutely getting folklore vibes on this set of tracks and I was all for it. Her vocals on this set of tracks though are SO pretty 😍 Also I agree with your thoughts on The Manuscript. This is why so many of us are fans of her. She wrote these songs about things that either were about real-life events she experienced or that fictional characters she created had experienced and we are able to apply to scenarios in our own lives. The ending lyric being "the story isn't mine anymore" is the absolute perfect way to end this entire album. She's shared her stories with us for years and we've been able to adopt them into our own lives. She literally has written the soundtrack to so many people's lives, saying the things we've probably all thought or wanted to say. Like this is why she's so good at what she does.

alex

you know what i really want you to do again? do an updated ranking all of taylor's songs. ON YOUR WALL AGAIN. it's seriously one of my favorite video of yours!

Sharon Nelson

Peter: the woman who turns out the light. Is that so you can’t see in the window? I look in people’s windows I love this whole album. All 31 songs.

OhHeyItsShay

Cassandra is about the "call" between Kayne and Taylor from what I've read

Ve Music

Robin is about Aaron’s child. Also maybe Robin Williams. And of course, Christopher Robin (Tigger was a tiger that bounced on his tail like a trampoline).

Nien
>>136556963

i have a sister named robin and she's always been big to me. so when i heard it and read it was about a child, i baaawled! never saw my sister as a kid since she's older, but this made me see her in a different light

Carbon Based Life Form

Musically, How Did It End is basically Runaway by The National, which makes sense for obvious Aaronish reasons.

Lizz Locke

Well that was a Ride! I felt so many things but the one recurring thought was, damn she says some beautiful things when she's sad!

Lizz Locke

Haha Caitlin pausing Peter to realize the song is about peter pan made my day! I reacted the same it was just so delightful to watch her get it.

Marsha

I Look In People's Windows is definitely a grower, and to me it feels part 2 of "Right Here Where You Left Me," in that she's still looking for him, and still not believing he's gone. LOVED your reactions, and loved how you got Peter! I was helping you, saying "come on, girl, it's there, come on," and just then it hit you! I was so excited! Love both sides but tend to play this one more, as I'm a ballad fanatic, and I'm in heaven with this.

Lizz Locke

I am pretty sure Robin is Christopher Robin, you know another boy from England. I have fully absorbed the first half after a million replays. Now i am ready fully absorb this half. I already love it! Peter and Robin are so beautiful theses songs practically haunt me!
