If we're on home invasions I'd love to watch you experience funny games. The original, but the remake is literally the exact same movie, but in english so it doesn't really matter😅😄

Davante

Ahhhhh, this film? I have literally have zero words for a horror movie with so much potential yet doesn’t deliver what I expected, beyond disappointed but I stayed for the reactions. There's unrated cut too, more blood.

Ameena

This is my favorite scary movie and even I am nervous to hit play rn (gonna do it anyway)

Andrew Hicks

I second Funny Games and also ‘Mother!’ with Jennifer Lawrence!

Personally I think horror movies need to have some light hearted scenes to keep the audience on their toes and for variety. This movie is just way too gloomy and depressing for me. But I loved your reaction nonetheless

Jason J. Watson

So so so happy right now! I knew this was gonna be a fun reaction. This movie is at least top 3 favorite horror movie for me. Arguably number 1. You never disappoint.

Anna Banana

Loved your reaction! 💜 You have to add One Missed Call (2008) to your list!

There is a visceral fear in this film. It's very palpable because you can literally put yourself in the victims' shoes. Nothing is scarier than plausible reality. Bryan Bertino is a fantastic director! This movie is actually based off an experience from his childhood. There was a burglary ring in the area and they would have people go knock on random people's doors to see who was home and to case the place. When a strange man knocked on his door, he answered the door and the man looked at him, asked for someone that didn't live there and then left. He found out about the burglary ring after and he never forgot how that made him feel! There are so many interesting things about this movie. The house was literally designed to feel like the common American home so viewers could relate to it. It is also one of those rare movies that is shot in chronological order. He believed the actors responses would be more authentic if they actually had experienced the story as it unfolded. My favorite fact is the way he got Liv Tyler's reactions. He would tell her the noises were going to come from a certain area so she could respond accordingly and then he'd purposely make the noises come from a different area than from where she was expecting! All-in-all, this is a Juggernaut of a horror flick. It's easily in my top ten. And Bertino just recently came out with the Dark and the Wicked a few years ago and that was flippin' legit as well! I look forward to watching your reaction to this!

Also, by lighthearted scenes, I don’t mean shoehorned comedy like in found footage movies. I dislike that too. Best example of light hearted scenes is in The Black Phone, I loved the realistic interactions with the brother and sister. It made me care about the characters (I hope I don’t come across as a snobby critic lol)

I forgot about Funny Games! That movie was disturbing. Michael Pitt's performance left a lasting impression on me.

Yeah, this movie is so terrifying because it is absolutely realistic. It's not every day that a bunch of psychotic teens or whatever teams up to see what it's like to kill someone, but there are cases. And from a psychological perspective, under this premise, the movie makes complete sense. From the way they play with them to enjoy the power they have over them, up until the very end where they take their masks off because they want them to know that this is it and they probably want to experience the act of killing as themselves, not as whoever they become when they wear the masks. You can even see it when they kill them (or try to) in the end - they all take a turn because they want to feel what it's like to stick a knife in somebody. Also, the poor christian boy at the end will probably also need therapy until the end of his days, just from that single scene :D Finally, hot tip: this is the perfect movie to watch if you go on vacation with your partner and have rented a vacation home. Just, you know, if you want to really terrify someone.

Randomly I was wanting to watch the strangers yesterday, but ended up having to work. Same thing happened the other week, I wanted to watch ready or not. Awesome coincidence. Can’t wait for the new insidious movie!

Noah

iMiller21

Another ultra realistic horror movie to check out is Watcher (2022)!

Caleb

If you would be interested in some more realistic style horror maybe check out Funny Games (2007). There are two versions, 1997 and 2007, both from the same director. The 2007 is a shot for shot remake of the 1997 version.

Just an fyi, the copy she's reacting to is the Unrated Extended Edition. If you're wanting to watch along with your copy and notice a difference, this is why.

La Toya Sheri

I'm curious to see if you have seen the preview for the new trilogy coming out this year. I think it will be good. Fingers crossed.

David Green

My understanding is that the "true events" the story is based on is a thing The Manson Family used to do where they would break into people's houses, rearrange the furniture, and then leave without doing anything else. It was their way of causing terror without actually hurting anyone.
