Love this song and video! I think it’s interesting in the video that not only is the awards show scene a metaphor for getting hit with the consequences of fame and everyone just enjoying watching the trainwreck instead of helping, but it’s poignant that when nobody helps, Olivia just picks up the microphone and starts singing again and everyone starts smiling and clapping, like that’s what expected of her, even when people know something bad happened they just expect you will move on quietly and get back to entertaining them. They want to watch your pain, but they don’t want it to inconvenience them. I love how in the end she escapes it through her music, like that’s what helps her float above it all.
